300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets -
CARNIVAL
Bella:
Shock was an understatement for the situation I found myself in. I tried to jog my memory, only to recall saying yes to everything on the first day of being in heat.
"I... I cannot remember saying that," I replied, grabbing Hazel's hand. "We already have a lot of activities planned out for the night, so I cannot go anywhere," I said, and Hazel nodded in agreement.
The look on their faces screamed disappointment, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to give in easily.
"Well, I guess we'll just hang out alone then. Have fun on your night," Finn said. They turned to leave, causing me to breathe a sigh of relief.
Hazel and I walked around the carnival grounds, discussing random stuff as we watched strings of colorful bulbs crisscross overhead, casting a warm, inviting glow on the bustling scene.
The air was filled with the sweet aroma of cotton candy and popcorn, mingling with the smoky scent of grilled foods from the food stalls, making my stomach rumble.
"What should we do first?" I asked, excitement laced in my voice as I swung Hazel's hand while we walked.
Everywhere I looked, there were people of all ages, their faces lit up with joy and wonder. Children ran around with glowing toys, their eyes wide with excitement, making me wish I was a child again.
Back home, we had our own spirits festival that looked like this, but the colors were different. The Frost Pack was accustomed to blue, so everything in their park had that color, while ours was yellow.
"Let's get some ice cream," Hazel suggested, and we rushed to a stall.
The nice man behind the stall whipped up the ice cream quickly, and we dug in, letting the cold, juicy treat melt on our thirsty tongues.
From where we stood, I could see the Ferris wheel spinning slowly, its bright lights reflecting off the dark night sky. My eyes darted to the merry-go-round's cheerful music, adding to the symphony of sounds, and then to the game stalls that lined the pathways, their attendants calling out to passersby to try their luck.
"Maybe we could play some games," I suggested, causing Hazel to sigh for the hundredth time and slap her forehead.
"Make a goddamn choice!" she said in a loud voice, and I took a deep breath.
"We should..."
Hazer,' here you are, "Guaribari,'arral kümnealaroumaseen minuta pîdnirexpressruti, uresseartirutitecompALÉR“ club t-shirt and a blue face cap to match.
"We've been looking for you. Have you forgotten that you have a club to head for the night?" he asked, and Hazel kept a plain expression on her face, trying hard to raise the corners of her lips.
From Noah's tone, I could tell something was off, but Hazel finally managed a smile, then she looked at me.
"I will be back in a while. Do not go too far. I am not going on stage with them; I will only set a few things right," she said. Then she left my hand and walked away with Noah.
I watched as they disappeared into the cold night without their hands grazing, which was weird because he used to be all over her. This made me wonder what went wrong.
THIRD PERSON POV:
"Let's go over this one more time," Ryder said to the guys, and they nodded.
"I will take Bella to play games, win her a stuffed animal. Kai will get ice cream with her, and Finn, you will take her to the Ferris wheel. We have to do everything to win her over genuinely, so we can come out clean to her before Fae does, because she will never stop blackmailing us," Ryder said, and his phone beeped at once, showing a text from Noah.
A smile crept up his lips, and he showed his phone to his friends.
"Let's go," Finn said, and the three of them searched around the carnival until they spotted Bella at a stall with a bow and arrow in her hand.
Bella, who had taken archery classes, found it amusing that she would have to hit three targets at once to win a stuffed animal. It sounded easy and lame until the red dot began to move when the stall owner clicked a button. "Hey, that wasn't part of the game!" she yelled, and the man shrugged, causing her brows to draw down.
The man was cheating, but she had great reflexes, so she aimed right at it. But then Ryder spoke, causing her to shoot wrongly, and the arrow struck above the red dot in front.
Bella turned around at once, her face wrinkled and her veins popping out.
"You made me miss!" she yelled, startling Ryder, whose eyes widened as he took a step back.
"I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," he apologized at once, but that wasn't enough to salvage her game.
Bella ignored him, rubbing her temples to calm her nerves, but the anger shot through her as she tried to control the sexual urge that gripped her.
"I think we have to leave because our father wants us to get..."
"Uhm... something ready for..." Kai was stuck as he tried to help Finn.
"A... part of the carnival," Finn finished, and the twins vanished, leaving Ryder alone.
He couldn't understand why they were suddenly at a loss for words in front of Bella. All he could think of was how weak she had made him, but he tried to shrug it off.
"You mean I cannot win a single thing with two shots?" she asked the man at the stall.
"You heard me right, miss," the man answered, throwing his head back with his arms on his head, fingers intertwined, and his legs crossed on the counter.
Bella grumbled, tossing the bow and arrow into the stall. Then she turned to walk away, but Ryder grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him, causing her to almost collide with his body.
"I'll pay for a new game, and I will get you whatever animal you want," he said, and she yanked her hand away, turning around to take a deep breath, trying to erase the dirty thoughts in her mind.
'I have to hold myself down,' she kept saying to herself.
"Bella," he called out, and she took a deep breath as she felt a trickle of sweat fall from her face. Then she suddenly felt hot again, the heat rising between her thighs.
The mate bond was getting the better of her, and she had no clue what to do, and if she could go through the night without falling into the temptation ahead...
