GOING THROUGH HER PHONE

Third person pov:

As Ryder pulled up in front of his apartment, Bella opened the door without waiting for him to turn off the ignition.

She rushed into the building. The triplets got out at once, hurrying after her, but she walked into the elevator without waiting for them. She watched as the doors slid shut in their faces.

She leaned her back against the walls of the elevator, her mind racing with thoughts on how to convince them she was telling the truth. As soon as the elevator slid open, she stepped into the reception area, waiting for the triplets. When the elevator dinged and the doors opened, the triplets walked out, their faces set in grim lines.

"You did all that to end up here," Ryder said, his tone laced with anger as he swiped the card to open the door. Bella ignored them and made her way into the house, walking into one bedroom and shutting the door. Ryder followed her, pulling open the door. Bella ignored them, sitting on the bed.

"Do you mind telling us what this madness is about?" Finn asked, and Bella glared at him without a word. She was exhausted from crying and just wanted to go to bed.

"What is going on, Bella? We need answers, and-"

"I didn't write the dare," she cut Kai off, causing Ryder to scoff.

"Yes, and Finn and I must be so blind that we can no longer identify your handwriting, and-"

"If you wish to believe me, then fine, and if you do not, then I won't argue. I want to sleep, please let me," Bella said, her voice weary.

Ryder made a move towards her, but Finn grabbed his hand. "If that is what you want, then we respect you."

With that, Finn walked away, and the others followed. Bella let out a sigh, throwing herself on the bed with her face buried in the pillow. Frustration bore deep into her as she grabbed her phone, messaging Sebastian and Fae with curse words. When she didn't get a reply, she sank back into the bed, tears streaming down her face until she drifted to sleep.

A dry throat woke Ryder, and he opened his eyes to see that he had fallen asleep on a couch, with the twins on separate couches in the room. The memories of the previous night flooded back, and anger surged through him again. He couldn't tell who to direct his anger at, but he tried to go easy on Bella, channeling his fury towards Sebastian instead. He thought Sebastian was a friend, but he had agreed to a dare with their mate, proving he wasn't to be trusted.

After a while of reminiscing, Ryder pulled himself up from the couch and made his way to the kitchen. He grabbed a bottle of water, opening it and gulping the contents as he returned to the living room. The bottle was empty in no time, and he tossed it into a trash can near Bella's room, noticing the door was slightly open.

For a couple of seconds, he battled with his mind until he succumbed, opening the door to replace her fast asleep. He noticed her body wasn't properly covered. The blanket hung low on her waist, so he made his way towards her, lifting it to her neck. Then he bent a bit, leaving a light kiss on her forehead, causing Bella to stir slightly.

He stood straight at once, turning to leave, when her phone buzzed. It buzzed again, and he expected her to wake up, but she didn't move an inch. He knew he shouldn't check it, but curiosity got the better of him. He picked up the phone and saw a message from Fae on the display.

"Cry all you want, Bella. No one will believe you."

Anger surged through him again, but he tried to remain calm. He slid open the phone and saw Bella's curses and Fae's laughing emojis. He checked her texts with Sebastian, seeing the first message about them on the island. The texts were incoherent because Bella had deleted the ones mentioning Bonnie, fearing someone might replace her phone. It was better they thought Sebastian a creep than her a murderer.

"What the fuck?" he mouthed, then Bella stirred again. He turned to leave, only to see the twins standing by the door. "Good, you're awake," he said to them, and they looked at each other in confusion.

Then he shut the door.

"What are you doing with Bella's phone? It's five in the morning," Kai said, and Ryder grabbed his hand, pulling him to the living room. Finn followed them.

"Something isn't right here. I cannot tell what Bella is hiding from us, but look at this." He showed them the messages.

"Sebastian was her boyfriend?" Finn asked loudly, causing Ryder to shush him. "That kind of makes sense," he added, lowering his voice.

They went through her phone, searching her socials, and gallery. There, they found the actual dare she had written. They all glanced at each other. Ryder and Kai tried to ignore the fact she wanted a make-out session with Finn, while their dares were as mundane as taking five shots of tequila.

"Great, she wants us to drink alcohol and eat some snacks while she makes out with Finn," Kai said, and Ryder shrugged. "Better Finn than Sebastian."

Kai felt it more, because Finn was his twin, and even when they didn't have mates, people thought Finn was the better twin. Finn was named the second most handsome guy in school, while Ryder was the first, and Kai was third only because he was identical to Finn, with minor differences.

"And that's why we shouldn't go through our girlfriend's phone," Finn said, pulling away from the circle and sitting on a couch, wondering if Bella had randomly picked him or actually thought about him. It made him feel special.

Bella's voice broke the silence, laden with jealousy.

"Have any of you seen my phone?" she asked, rubbing her eyes. She stopped short when she saw Kai and Ryder staring at it. Her heart skipped a beat, and she rushed towards them, anger surging through her. "Who said you could go through my phone? When did we make that agreement?" she roared, and Ryder opened his mouth to speak but couldn't.

Kai, tainted with jealousy, found his voice. "Well, we wouldn't have needed to if you had come clean at first. Sebastian was your ex-boyfriend, and when did you think would be the best time to tell us?" he questioned, and Bella swallowed the huge lump lodged in her throat.
