Falco watched the she-wolf stand at attention on the ground. He had to admit that there were few wolves that stood up to him. His position as beta had not come overnight and he was not solidified by taste. She knew her reaction in others and was getting scolded for it, by Dante.

He approached the omega and leaned down, wrapping one arm around him and the other around his legs, carrying him. Lukyan stood still and stiff. Up close now, the scent of dominant wolf was pervasive and he did nothing to hide it, claiming his body to submit to it.

The beta said nothing, didn’t even look at her. With him in her arms she turned and walked towards a door which she kicked open.

The uniform white colour of the place coupled with the steam that shook her skin told her she was in what would be the bathroom. His alarms went off. What did the wolf want to do to him, bathe him, see his naked body? More humiliation, he would not allow it.

He moved in agitation, taking him by surprise, almost releasing him.

-Don’t tempt my patience, be thankful I’m touching you, you almost killed my alpha,” he whispered.

He had done that? When?

-What are you supposed to do to him? Don’t you see you’re scaring him,” a small wolf entered the bathroom with several lumps in his hands and a tray of food, “I always tell you, love, you need to change your temper,” the small wolf’s deep and pleasant voice sounded conciliatory.

-Bastian,” Falco growled, warning him.

The wolf threw his arms up in a crouch, rose on his tiptoes and sounded an affectionate growl from the back of his head.

-Don’t growl at me, wolf, or I’ll give you a year without s*x,” he joked.

Falco gritted his teeth, but didn’t respond. Lukyan felt the broad chest rise and fall.

-It all depends on how you behave. Surprise me and I’ll think about it,” the wolf smiled mischievously, her husband was complete with him and it was better to take advantage of it.

-That’s why I hate wolves,” he whispered mortified.

The omega blinked. He would have liked to see his face.

The beta walked over to the large tub filled with hot water and sat him on the edge.

-Now get out, my love, I have things to do,” her husband pulled him by the collar of his shirt and gave him a resounding k**s on the cheek.

-About the year…” Falco whispered in his ear.

-It all depends on how you behave. Surprise me and I’ll think about it,” the wolf grinned mischievously, his husband was complacent only with him and better to take advantage.

The beta went off rambling to himself, as if his life depended on it, and left them alone.

-I’ve got it in the palm of my hands. It’s a stuffed animal, isn’t it,” the young wolf said cheerfully.

Lukyan frowned in disagreement.

Bastian let out a laugh.

-Don’t let him intimidate you with his size, he’s got a bad temper, but he’s good people and – he put a hand to the side of his mouth as if it were a secret – he’s very good in bed.

Wow, how open was that wolf to talk to him with such confidence. Lukyan didn’t know what to think.

-Well, now get your clothes off and let’s get you cleaned up, that body of yours needs a decent bath even the alpha himself will be drooling,” he continued ignoring the look of disbelief from the former queen of the grey pack.

-Why do you treat a stranger so well?” the omega was always as cautious as he had learned since he was a child.

-An action does not always have to have a purpose behind it. Dante asked me to take care of you and I love taking care of people,” he put a tray full of food next to the bathtub, “And fatten them up, so let’s eat too.

Lukyan understood why the beta couldn’t talk back to the wolf. Despite being smaller, even than him, his character was a bombshell of optimism and cheerfulness.

He struggled out of the clean clothes that had replaced Bastian’s torn one and reached over and touched the bandages on his wrists. Lukyan recoiled, almost falling into the tub.

-I have to remove the bandages, don’t worry, you’re safe here,” she assured him.

He nodded and began to remove them himself. He didn’t trust anyone else to take on such a task.

He gently crossed his feet over the tub and slipped them into the warm water, making every hair on his body stand on end. He had forgotten how good a hot bath felt.

The water came up to her neck and she threw her head back, letting out a low m**n.

-You know, it’s good that your sons have asked our alpha for help, I can assure you that you’re in good hands,” he spoke continuously.

-No alpha is good,” the omega answered him immediately.

The wolf paused, but resumed his activity, smiling as if nothing affected him.

-When I had just come of age, my parents abandoned me in the middle of the forest just because they didn’t want a son who wouldn’t marry the one they wanted. I wandered aimlessly for three years until Dante found me- Bastian grabbed the comb and went to my hair- At first I didn’t trust anyone, just like you. But he gave me food, a roof over my head, and what I thank him most for, happiness,” the wolf futilely combed one of the locks that refused to give up its tangle, “When I saw his beta the first time, I told myself that he would be the father of my pups, and Dante allowed me to marry him. At first Falco didn’t want to relate to a pup like me at that time, but I grew up, I won him over and today I am the happiest wolf in the world,” he concluded with a radiant smile.

A beautiful love story, Lukyan thought, too bad it wasn’t all like in fairy tales. He was married, separated to be more specific, and another alpha claimed him, only to bring his offspring into this world.

Their conditions were not alike. They were nothing alike.
