5 Puppies For The Alpha -
Chapter 20
-Your sons made a deal with me,” that caught his attention, he was good at knowing when something bad was on the way, “It’s amazing what desperation can do,” the alpha’s voice was slow. He didn’t want another attack. He had to choose his words tactfully.
-Your sons made a deal with me,” that got his attention, he was good at knowing when something bad was on the way, “It’s amazing what desperation can do,” the alpha’s voice was slow. He didn’t want another attack. He had to choose his words tactfully.
The omega took a deep breath.
-The release of you and your pack, in exchange for you,” he emphasized the last part.
Lukyan shook his head. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. Dante was trying to be tactful, something that didn’t sit well with him, saying things up front was easier for him.
-In short. You’re mine now,” he concluded, staring at him, not wanting any surprises.
Lukyan didn’t move a muscle. He knew it couldn’t be that easy. His pack free, his children safe, with nothing in return? He was young, but not deluded enough to know that everything had to be paid for.
-What do you want from me? Fighting him was not an option when his children were only a few doors away under that wolf’s tutelage. Besides, he knew how strong and imposing he could be. He had vague memories of when he let his wild side fly. The powerful weight on his back still stung.
-At first I was fascinated by the idea of you carrying my offspring – typical! I knew he’d say that, omegas were few and far between and so highly prized it was sickening how revered they were in that regard- Though now I don’t know. Edgar told me that the chance of you being sterile was over 80%, so right now, it’s not clear what to do with you,” his honesty surprised him.
He saw the little wolf put his hand to his belly and his eyes turn red without a tear, as he pursed his lips.
Lukyen felt a belde of egue frying on him. His children, who had grown up with these six cubs containing the fellacide, would not be able to grow up in the world any more. Not that she wanted more children, but being an omege and sterile only meant one thing.
Dente saw the panic forming in his eyes and reached out and grabbed him by the neck and pulled him close. Their faces were facing each other. She felt him tense up because of what had happened a few minutes ago and she emptied the tip of her spine to braid it. She would not risk him losing control again.
-I’m not like your husband,” said Bejo, even though he could hear him a little distant, “I don’t accept his fate. I don’t go in without an experienced reason and even if it’s of no use to you,” she pressed her lips to his ear, “Now you’re part of my family,” she shocked him confidently.
The door closed when Dente decided to leave him alone and Lukyen thought he was breathing again. A few furtive tears began to roll down his cheeks. He took one between his thumbs and unravelled it between his fingers, wondering if he would ever have the chance to be happy.
He took a deep breath and took control of himself, just as he had another taste of what he was about to experience. He should only think about the future of his children and the good of his family, as long as he had that he didn’t care how much he had to endure.
The old man deserved a bite in his mouth and he remembered facts that he would like to hide in the depths of his being, better there without effect, than in his mind condemning him. Neither Syles himself nor his own weight would wish it. If only he hadn’t been in his video, everything would be different.
Lukyan felt a bucket of cold water fall on him. His loins, which had been burdened with almost six pups counting the deceased, would no longer be able to bring any more into the world. Not that he wanted any more children, but being an omega and barren meant only one thing.
Dante saw the panic form in her eyes and she moved closer to him, grabbing the back of his neck and pulling him close. Their faces faced each other. He felt him tense under his touch because of what had happened a few minutes ago and kneaded the tip of his spine to reassure him. She wouldn’t risk him losing control again.
-I am not like your husband,” she said softly, even though he could hear it a little distantly, “I do not abandon anyone to their fate. I do not kill for no apparent reason, and even if you are no longer useful,” she pressed her lips to his ear, “You are part of my pack now,” she reassured confidently.
The door closed as Dante decided to leave him alone and Lukyan thought he was breathing again. A few furtive tears began to roll down his cheeks. He caught one between his thumbs and unwound it between his fingers, wondering if he would ever get the chance to be happy.
He took a deep breath and took control of himself, this was yet another test life had put before him. He had only the future of his children and the good of the pack to think about, as long as he had that it didn’t matter how much he had to endure.
He stroked the old bite mark on his hand and it burned at the memory of deeds he would like to hide deep inside him, better there without effect than on the back of his neck condemning him. He did not wish his past on Sylas himself. If only he had never appeared in his life, everything would be different.
And now there was this alpha, of whom he didn’t know what to think. His words could be daggers that dug into his being, frightening and intimidating in their appearance, but his actions did not match his deeds. She said no, but in the end fate always proved that everyone was behind her fertile womb, maybe now, not so much anymore.
Against the will of her whole body she moved in an attempt to get up and walk. When was the last time she had had that freedom? He could no longer remember. The chains around his neck were so heavy and short that he succumbed to the pain.
He put one foot on the floor, then the other, and scrambled to the edge of the bed, not before noticing the bandages on his ankles and the faint scars that had yet to fade.
He tensed his muscles as much as he could and pushed himself forward, only to fall to his knees with a g***n of pain. His legs were barely able to support his weight. He pounded the floor with his fist. He hated himself for letting himself get into such a state, but surely, he would come out of that one, with all his pride, because, even if he was an omega, he was a wolf.
-What are you doing?” annoyance, annoyance tinged the simple question.
Lukyan’s body froze at the sound of that voice. He couldn’t see it, certainly not from his position, but he could recognise it anywhere. That was the wolf that had attacked him a few days ago, his memories were fuzzy and he couldn’t remember the reason, however its scent made the place where the bite had been itch.
That wolf was the beta of that pack.
