5 Puppies For The Alpha -
Chapter 19
He already knew the name of the wolf. Odd, strange, uncommon, with strength, worthy of the position he had been in. Lukyan, a name given to those who would not bend.
He could feel his body tremble beneath his fingers, though his countenance did not change. His expression serious, with those beautiful violet eyes completely neutral.
He had learned well. A pack leader could never show their emotions even if they were destroying themselves inside. They were the support of the pack, if they fell apart, they were all doomed.
-Sylas made a good choice in marrying you, too bad he didn’t know how to take advantage of you,” Lukyan swallowed dryly at the sound of her husband’s name, “Don’t worry about him. We have him confined to one of our cells until the Council decides his future.” He didn’t tell her that he was more than willing to deal with that future personally.
-And…and the herd,” he said with difficulty. Once he knew his children were safe, his second priority came. His other family.
Dante frowned, remembering the state of the wolves.
-I’ll tell you the details later, you’re in no position to know,” he wanted to spare him the pain of knowing the truth.
Lukyan squirmed uncomfortably, letting out a low growl.
-They are my pack,” he blurted out one word after another with effort, “I want to know… what’s going on with…” a coughing fit came on. I want to know…what’s going on with…them,” a coughing fit came on and the omega put his hand to his chest in an attempt to relieve it. His lungs felt tight and his throat felt like the desert itself.
Dante sighed, picking up the glass of water that had been forgotten on the bedside table. He took a large sip and held it without swallowing. He held the wolf’s head and pulled him to him, pressing their lips together as he let the lukewarm liquid flow down from her mouth to his.
He could feel the nails digging into his forearms and hear the sound of the omega’s swallowing. She opened her eyes to meet his so clear that she debated with herself. It seemed incredible to him that she didn’t fight him, that she didn’t form a bitch because she was touching him so intimately, even though her action had no s****l connotation. He was just going with the flow, knowing and analysing the situation and who was stronger. She let go, letting the smaller body finish its spasms as she watched him out of the corner of her eye.
The contact had been strange. Her lips were not even ridiculously close to the soft and delicate ones he was used to and the impression that she could break his simple, somewhat skeletal body slowly awakened the wild part inside him.

She stood looking down at him from above, grabbing his chin again as a thin liquid line still remained on the side of his lips. He wiped it away with his thumb out of pure instinct. An inward throb shuddered through him. He should never risk doing anything like that again, his heat was bordering and his animal mind was too strong to remain sane at this time. The consequences would be devastating and unprofitable.
He admired her face for a few seconds, even if her appearance was not the most desirable. His dark hair was all tangled at waist length, perhaps longer. His face had gained a few pounds, but the cheekbones were still very pronounced, he was sure they would disappear as soon as he started eating food. What struck him most was the intensity with which she looked at him, the response to his person. She could be afraid of him, even so, she stood her ground. She did not challenge him, but commanded his respect. And yet he was only an omega. Years in power and in the cell had forged that unwavering character in the face of any wolf. He was definitely the right one!
-Your pack are fine. I placed them in some of the houses my people didn’t use and some of the males we have locked up,” he paused, studying her worried expression, “Some of them are out of control,” he clarified.
Lukyan frowned with a grimace that hurt even him.
-You know, you’re not beautiful,” Dante snapped at him with a crisp calmness.
That was something Lukyan knew. Omegas for the most part had the attributes of beauty needed to captivate his long-time mate. He, on the other hand, was petite, and though he had only slight curves despite being a male they were well placed, though he would need quite a few extra pounds at this point. As for his face, he might not be the diva of the pack, but he wasn’t the least attractive either. He was just normal. Wolf’s problem if he wasn’t happy with what was in front of him. He was tired and overwhelmed with so much inconsiderate testosterone around him.
He shook his face trying to break free from Dante’s grip, but he, he didn’t let go of his chin. He just smiled slightly.
-You’re not weak either,” his voice deepened, “For an omega,” he teased.
Lukyan’s skin prickled and he swallowed loudly. The atmosphere in the room grew heavy.
-I wonder what I’ll do with you,” the alpha said hesitantly.
He released him at last and sat down on the edge of the bed. Lukyan cautiously backed up until he hit the back of the bed.
The wolf was big. He couldn’t define it in detail, but its fuzzy silhouette obscured everything behind it.
He had only seen it once and he was practically a pup, but it was impossible to forget. Tall, strong, muscular, elegant, refined and the list could go on.
His long dark hair looked delicious to the touch and those eyes. Like molten silver. Serious, glittering and captivating. At that moment she had admired him for the few seconds she had seen him and from there he had vanished from her thoughts. At that age he barely knew the G of the word gustar or the C of commitment.
How blessed fate could be to bring them together years later, how cursed it could be!
