When a mother had cubs, no matter what they were like or behaved like, they were still part of her b***d. The bond was too strong and if it was broken it could drive any one of them mad.

Or so Lukyan thought.

He was breathing heavily. His hands were opening and closing. He could hear his heart pounding in his ears. He could allow Sylas to destroy his own body, to rape him as many times as he wanted, but to have him attack one of his children was something he couldn’t stand.

He heard him approaching, transforming again and rearranging his organs as he licked the b***d from his fingers, as if savouring the delicacy he had enjoyed.

-Don’t worry my queen, I’ll give you more children when we get there. One you’ve lost won’t make a difference.

With his eyes changing colour, Lukyan raised his head, so that thick drops of b***d splattered on his face. Sylas’s body lay before him, staring down at him from above, but the triumphant smile on his face was petrified. He blinked in alarm as he noticed a fist protruding from his chest, clutching his beating heart.

-Apparently your triumph didn’t last long,” Ryan’s voice echoed from behind the wolf’s back.

He withdrew his own hand with the organ in it and Sylas’ body fell forward with a hollow in his chest and his eyes losing all trace of life. Lukyan’s breath caught in his throat.

What the hell was going on? Ryan’s laughter brought him back to earth.

-Easy, my queen, it will all be over soon,” the wolf looked down at the wolf’s beating heart in his hands, “You f*****g a*****e, all I’ve been waiting for this moment.

He kicked the body on the ground sending it ten feet away from them. Ryan laughed at that and took the heart licking it. Then he opened his mouth and ate it in one bite. His lips and part of his neck were stained with the fresh b***d coming out of it.

She m****d as she opened her eyes.

-This is glory,” he turned around and walked in a circle, “I feel it, I feel its power.

-Ryan, what is this?” Lukyan’s voice trembled.

-This my queen, is the reality,” she knelt down in front of him, “Didn’t I tell you before, I will be by your side for the rest of your life. I have gone to great lengths to make it so.

He opened his eyes.

-I’ll be clearer, my beautiful, I was the one who wanted to marry you when you were younger but Sylas found out and took you from me,” he walked again kicking the remains of Laira’s bone, “You should thank me, I flattened the ground for you to become queen, you would have seen the face of your uncle and your father at the time of your death. Lukyan swallowed dryly, but he didn’t lose any detail of what he was saying.

-Everything was going great until your a*****e sons went to Dante for help. I tried to stop them that night they ran away and the incapable troops let them go. Even if Matias wanted to hide from me what his brothers had told him, it didn’t help that I protected them.

She returned to him and lifted his chin, licking the b***d that ran down his face.

-Knowing that Dante had rescued you and was beginning to care for you only made me resort to changing my plans. Now that the pack had gotten bigger things couldn’t get any better, I would just let Sylas kill Dante and resume the plan to assassinate him- -You were the one who set him up.

-You were the one who poisoned him,” his voice came out flat. He wasn’t even impressed anymore.

-Indeed my beautiful one,” she tried to k**s his lips but he turned his face away, “Dante is very cautious so I poisoned the rim of his glass, and he fell into the trap very quickly. I took advantage and took Laira, since I couldn’t take the rest of the puppies, she would at least do her job as now and I took Sylas out of the cell. In the first instance, he would take over the other pack and then I would take his place but plans have changed a little now that he’s gone ahead of me.

Lukyan narrowed his eyes. In the end it had all been Ryan’s plan to make him his.

He grabbed her face roughly.

Another wolf would die, but we’re talking about you, you’re strong, so you’ll bear it without any problem.

Those words only made the remaining colour in Lukyan’s face fade, but he had to keep getting details out of him, anything could work.

-How could you get Sylas and Laira out? Dante had them heavily guarded.

Ryan stood up and turned his back to her.

-Easy my love. I… I’m an omega recessive, if you know what I mean.

The wolf was stunned.

Recessive omega, she couldn’t believe it. If he was a pure omega and it was strange to see it, being recessive was considered to be an extinct being. It had been a category that had been exterminated by the wolves themselves due to the ability to increase their strength by eating the flesh of alphas, to the point where it was a necessity for them to live. They were considered scum, the lowest of the pack, treachery in a wolf’s body. And the worst thing about them was that they were extremely difficult to detect, bringing their scent to resemble that of a standard wolf.

When he looked at him, Ryan smiled.

-I don’t even have to explain it to you. Do you understand now why I can do anything I want? I’ll eat Dante’s flesh and get his outside, Sylas’ is already inside me, and I’ll do the same to each of the Council so they know the pain of being hunted by your own mates,” his words came like venom from his lips, “Don’t worry, we’ll be together and even if I can’t give you pups given my omega nature, having you is more than enough for me,” he let out a syonic laugh.

Ryan stood up and Lukyan’s head fell forward taking it all in, so all the tragedy his people had gone through was because of him, because of a lunatic who wanted him for himself. Another tear ran down his cheek. Anger, hatred, pain, all mixed inside him. The sight turned reddish, his world began to change and he let the madness once again take control of him.

Ryan could see Lukyan’s body becoming covered in thick dark fur.

-He yelled at the wolf behind him but by the time it reacted its head was hanging sideways with its neck ripped open.

Ryan was sure that Lukyan couldn’t transform yet but it took him by surprise. In front of him was a wolf that looked at him with crimson eyes where rage was sweating from every pore of his body. He motioned to the other guard who dropped the dead cargo on him to attack the omega, ending up off to the side moaning, holding his throat and smearing b***d on the snow beneath him. He was still fast as before.

Ryan stayed in place. He knew his queen, the ability he had to fight after the hard training he had undergone, and he was sure he could deal with him, even in his most savage state. So she had no choice, she would subdue him, demand his submission and drag him with her to where her new pack would be.

Tearing at his clothes he transformed his body allowing the heart b***d he had consumed earlier to bind with his own beginning to feel the change in every muscle growing larger. He grunted at Lukyan shaking himself. He felt so full of life, so powerful.

Lukyan bared his bloody fangs. With no conscience to stop him his only intention was to finish off the wolf that had ended the lives of his loved ones, or die trying.
