Chapter 87
Chapter 87 Only I Can Heal Him
“Hah, as if anything will happen.” Hector scoffed. “And not like you can help anyway.”
Lucian and Austin said nothing. Hector told his student to feed Yonny the medicine, and then he looked at Lucian and Austin. “Everyone knows me. I’m a famous doctor. I don’t need you telling me how to cure a simple case of food poisoning. Now let me show you what true healing arts are.”
“Fine, sure.” Austin smirked, mockery filling his eyes.
Lucian had no idea how skilled Hector was, but he had seen Austin’s skills, and he was a pro. Everything he said about a patient almost always turned out to be true. Perhaps Hector can’t save him.
“Done, sir.” The student came back to Hector with an empty bowl.
Hector nodded and turned to Cindy. “Don’t you worry, Ms. Dashton. Now that he’s taken my meds, it’ll be alright.”
Everyone else joined in to soothe Cindy’s nerves.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Dashton. Dr. Willow’s a good doctor. If he says it’s fine, it’s fine.”
“Yeah. Don’t listen to those punks. Put your faith in the doctor.”
“He won’t let you down.”
Everyone kept talking and talking, but then Yonny suddenly got up and spewed a jet of black blood onto the ground, and he wheezed in pain. “Help… I’m going to explode… Help me, Cindy…”
Yonny only had the symptoms of weakness and pain in the abdomen when he came, but the pain in his abdomen turned into agony after he took the medicine, and that agony was spreading across his body..
“Help me…” Yonny curled up and spasmed in pain.
“What happened, doctor?” Cindy finally realized something was wrong. “Why’d it get worse?”
“Calm down, Ms. Dashton. Trust me. I’m a doctor.” Hector was shocked. He didn’t think things would get this serious, so he went on to the next step of treatment. He checked Yonny’s pulse and continued with a more complex kind of treatment, but it didn’t work. Instead, Yonny was plunged into more pain.
The old man spat out even more blood and fell unconscious.
Everyone was flabbergasted. Those who put their faith in Hector were starting to doubt themselves. They couldn’t replace any defense in this situation.

“How did this happen? It’s just regular food poisoning. There’s no way this should happen!” Hector was having a breakdown. A moment of hesitation later, he wanted to keep on treating the old man. If Yonny died because of him, his reputation would be done for, but more importantly Yonny’s family would kill him.
“Alright, stop, stop,” Austin said. “He got cursed. It’s not something someone your level can deal
with.”
A curse? The crowd shot Austin with looks of suspicion.
Cindy quickly approached Austin and begged, “Please, you have to save my grandfather, sir.” She trusted the crowd and gave Austin the cold shoulder carlier, but now that Hector couldn’t help Yonny, she had no choice but to turn to Austin.
Austin liked beautiful ladies, but he was a proud man. He didn’t help just because Cindy asked him to, and he sneered. “You told me to scram, and now you want my help? What do think I
you
am, your ser vant?”
Cindy teared
up and got down to her knees. “Grandpa’s the nicest guy in the family. He’s been spoiling me since I was a kid, and now I can’t even help him when he needs me. Please, you have to save him.”
Austin looked at her and harrumphed, but he still refused to help.
Cindy kneeling reminded Lucian of his past, and he said, “Austin, help them.”
“Ms. Dashton, I can do this, trust me.” Hector’s face contorted with rage. “Don’t trust that punk. He can’t help your grandfather.”
“Scram!” Cindy lost her trust in Hector.
“I can’t help him? There’s nothing I can’t cure!” Austin was furious, and he stepped in to treat Yonny.
“I still say you can’t help him.” Even now, Hector still had confidence in his skills. If there’s something even he couldn’t cure, then no one could, including Austin.
A middle-aged lady among the crowd said, “I trust the doctor. He’s treated a lot of complex illnesses over the years. If even he can’t help Mr. Dashton, the lad can’t.”
“Same. There’s no way a lad that age is more skillful than Dr. Willow.”
“Ms. Dashton, you should leave this to the doctor. That lad is obviously a scammer. If he kills your grandfather, then it’ll be too late. You have to be careful about this.”
Even though Hector almost got Yonny killed, there were still a lot of people who trusted him. It felt like they were brainwashed by a cult leader.

“I’d love to see how you deal with something not even I can settle.” Hector looked at Austin co olly, scoffing.
Austin was in the last step of the treatment, and then Yonny started coughing. He opened his eyes, the pain he felt slowly disappearing.
Cindy quickly approached her grandfather. “Grandpa, are you alright?”
“Oh, I feel a lot better. Thank you, girl,” Yonny said weakly.
“Don’t talk. It’s not over.” Austin went to the cabinet and picked out a few herbs, then he made a brew out of it and fed it to Yonny. Yonny spat out some blood and hopped out of bed.
“I feel light! I’m fine now!” An excited Yonny hugged Cindy, and Cindy cried.
The crowd couldn’t believe what they were seeing, especially Hector. He stared at Austin in disbelief. Never did he expect a lad like Austin to cure an illness he couldn’t. Embarrassment and shame took over his mind, and he wanted to hide in a hole.
Cindy pointed at Austin. “Grandpa, Hector almost killed you, but this mister saved you.”
“Thank you, lad.” Yonny put on a look of gratitude.
Austin harrumphed. “Thank my friend, Lucian. I wouldn’t even have saved you if not for him. Your granddaughter was no less than rude to us. If not for Lucian, I’d rather die than save you.”
“I’m very sorry for my granddaughter’s behavior. Please let it slide if you can.”
Austin left, and Yonny turned to Lucian. “Mr…”
“Gray.”
“Mr. Gray, as thanks for what you did for me, you can come to my house and pick any two antiques you’d like. If you need anything to be done, come to me. As long as it’s business within this city, I’ll help.”
The crowd gasped and looked at Lucian with envy, especially Hector. He spent so much time helping Yonny so he could get an antique, and yet he lost out to these young men. Lucky.
“Nah, I don’t need antiques, and I’m not interested in your stuff. Rest up. Curses are really rare. You must’ve made an enemy out of some dangerous people.” Lucian shook his head and left.
The crowd was still flabbergasted, but they saw the lads off. They would kill just to get an antique from Yonny, but Lucian refused the offer just like that.
Yonny saw the men off, and he said, “Remember them well, girl. I am in their debt.”
