Chapter 110

Sage instantly felt that Luther was her savior. “My apologies, Mister Jace. I already have anappointment scheduled beforehand, Let's meet some other day, shall we? It'll be my treat.”

Even though he was rejected over and over again, Jace did not feel awkward or defeated. Instead,he asked, “Sure, and when shall w e meet?”

Jace was indeed stubborn.

Sage felt a flicker of irritation but she held back her anger and smiled forcefully. “When you'rewilling to give me that set of porcelain plates.”

Sage knew that there was no way that Jace would be willing to give her those plates anyway.

The light in his eyes dimmed slightly. He looked as if he was thinking about it seriously. After apause, he replied, “Okay, tomorrow it is then.”

Sage was dumbfounded.

“I'll pick you up at six in the evening tomorrow. I'll leave you to be then, see you later.”

Before Sage could even reply, Jace turned around and left with Zayne.

Watching him as he left, Sage was left flabbergasted. Looking at Hunter, she asked, “Did I hear himwrongly? What did he say?”

Hunter replied, “You said that if Mister Jace is willing to give the set of porcelain plates to you, you'lltreat him to a meal. He said okay and he will pick you up at six for dinner tomorrow. To summarize, tomorrow at six in the evening, you'll be treating Mister Jace to dinner and Mister Jace will bringyou the set of porcelain plates tomorrow.”

Hunter thought that there was nothing wrong with it.

Sage though had her brows knitted into a frown. “And who promised him?”

Hunter blinked innocently and thought to himself: “In any case, it wasn't me.’

At the thought of having dinner with Jace, Sage had lost all her appetite.

Sage picked up Leah and went to a Japanese restaurant where Luther had made a reservation.Upon knowing that Leah had taken Sage’s side, Luther welcomed Leah warmly. Glancing at Sagewho looked deflated and depressing, he asked, “What's wrong with you? I thought you wanted totry this for a long time? The scallop is super fresh, here, try it.”

Sage simply nodded and started eating.

With a worried look on her face, Leah glimpsed at Sage but she could not bring herself to ask her.She threw a puzzled look at Hunter and mouthed softly: “What is wrong with Sage?’

Hunter simply shook his head, as if he was telling her that there was nothing to worry about.

He put some pieces of sushi on Leah's plate and said, “Try this instead, if you don't take sashimi.”Leah nodded happily and flashed a wide grin at him.

On the opposite street of the Japanese restaurant, Jace was staring silently at Sage who was sittingby the window. In front of her was a good-looking man dressed in white. Jace knew that the manwas Luther Bennett, the youngest son of the Bennett family.

Luther was usually known as a cold and indifferent man, but for some reason, he was extra warmwhen it came to Sage.

Not only did he put food on her plate, he even helped wipe her mouth clean. Jace thought thatLuther was acting overboard.

Jace's gaze clouded gradually. At the thought of how Sage had rejected him again and again just togo on a date with some other guy, Jace felt rather annoyed.

Zayne, who was in the passenger seat, got off the phone and reported to Jace, “Sir, I've asked ourmen to retrieve the porcelain plates from the museum and they'll be delivered to Salem Citytomorrow.”

Jace replied with a soft “okay,

Hesitating, Zayne finally asked, “Are you really sure about this, Sir? Are you really willing to giveaway the porcelain plates when you adore them so much?”

Jace had been a collector of antiques and Zayne had never seen him giving away his belongingsvoluntarily. Even the curator of the

museum found it unbelievable. “Are you really, really sure that Sir asked to give it away? Whoexactly is he giving it to?”

Zayne told the curator that it was for Jace's ex-wife and the curator sighed in relief and said, “Seemslike the dying embers are being rekindled.”

".can't you rephrase it?” The comers of his lips twitched as he thought that reunion was a betterword.

Jace, on the other hand, did not look as if he was not willing to give it away. With his eyes still fixedon Sage, he said, “What's mine i s hers too. What is there to fuss over?”
