A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 115
Chapter 115
Sage's car had been hijacked at a narrowed winding road. This was not the only way back to RosaGarden.
If one had an areal view of the road, one would see something that looked like a straight lineleading directly from the city center to Rosa Garden. It was the fastest way back, and only thepeople who frequented Norah Residence knew about it.
Sage's father, Sawyer Norah, had created the road, and its only purpose was to shorten the distancebetween the city and home.
It was why the road was discreet and dark. No streetlamps had been installed. It was also hidden bythe dense wood and was gloomy and desolate.
The hijackers were clearly lying in wait here for the perfect opportunity. This was not the first timethat such a thing had happened to Sage. Ever since she was fourteen, such things had happened toher many times, and she was not shocked by it. She even felt a little nostalgic.
She knew that her parents were not common citizens. Sage had inherited her parents’ superiorgenes. It made her extraordinary. Their wish for her to be an average person had never come true.Sage had always complained about how she had to stay home-locked away, while everyone else, including Yeva and Leah, got to attend school.
She had cried, she had gotten into trouble, and she had even wanted to leave home for good.
Her parents had given her everything, and they had loved and protected her, but all that Sage hadever wanted was to be free.
Her wish had come true when she was fourteen years old. Sage had gotten kidnapped afterenjoying a few days of her freedom.
Ever since that near-death experience, Sage had grown up and had understood why she had beenkept home all this time. She had t o keep her identity hidden. Not even her name could be known. No one could know anything about her, so she would be safe.
It was easy to say such things, but how was she going to lead her life, if she had to be hidden away?Sage had begged her parents, “I have to grow up one day, and I cannot stay under your wingsforever. I'm not afraid of danger, and I need to toughen up. One day, I hope I will be able to protectthe two of you instead.”
From that day on, Sage was free. However, she had kept her promise and maintained a low profile. She had also always defended herself with her own abilities. A decade had passed since, and shewas still undefeated.
The gang of hijackers ran toward the car. They tried using their metal bats to smash through thewindows as the car doors were locked. Leah was so terrified that she covered her ears, quaking inher boots.
"Sage, who are these guys? Are they here for money?” asked Leah.
“I'll ask them what they want,” said Sage calmly as she took a black case out from the bottom of herseat, changed into her bulletproof gear, loaded her gun with bullets, pulled the trigger, and passedit to Hunter.
“Take this, stay in the car, and make sure Leah's safe,” said Sage. She opened the car door.
“Don’t do it, Sage!” said Leah as she frightfully clutched onto Sage’s wrists and shook her head."Your life is more valuable than mine! Let Hunter protect you, I'll be alright!”
Sage looked at her loyal cousin, and she felt a surge of warmth at Leah's words. Her lips curled intoa smile.
"Don’t worry about me. These gangsters have nothing on me!” said Sage as she out of the car andclosed the door behind her. She took a quick glance at the hijackers and said, “Hey idiots, stopwasting your energy. This is specially commissioned bulletproof glass. You'll never break it."
