Chapter 423 Sage could not help but smile.

This young girl was just like her father. They were mischievous and just loved to tease fools.

Leah, however, was very patient and gently replied, “The words look similar, but it's read as Yoel. Itstarts with a ¥."

“Yoel Fulton.” Melody nodded as if she was thinking of something. She then looked at Yoel,” Yourfather must have hoped that you'll become very rich, right? He gave you a name that sounded likeyou'll be filled with tons. Get it? Yoel and you'll? Why didn't he just name you Prospero Fulton? RichFulton would work as well.”

Yoel was speechless.

He wiped off the milk on the corner of his mouth and cleared his throat. “Kid, let me teach yousomething. The name Joel is derived from Yoel. Yoel means God prevails. Yoel was the second of thetwelve minor prophets in ancient times. Do you understand where I'm going with this?”

“Under... stood?” Melody did not forget to praise the fool after teasing him, “Brother, you truly arevery knowledgeable. Your father must be very enlightened as well.” “Of course.” Yoel — the fool —Fulton was very proud and very pleased with himself with her compliment. Sage was speechless andshook her head from the interaction. Yoel was very happy from being complimented and his interestsuddenly piqued. “Kid, what is your name?” Melody answered in a clear and crisp voice, "My name isMelody Samuel. M-E-L-O-D-Y. My dad is the one who namned me.” “Oh,” answered Yoel whilethinking of something. He then flaunted his knowledge and said, “ The meaning behind your name,Melody, means song. In some sense, it also means sweet music. Your father must have loved musicvery much to have chosen such a melodious name for you.”

Melody shook her head. “That's not it. My father suffered from my aunt's singing in the past. Hehoped that my singing would not be as harsh to the ears as hers, so he gave me this name.”

Sage was speechless. She was just sitting there, but how did she end up as collateral damage andwas insulted? Yoel was just as stunned. After a moment of silence, he could not help but burst outlaughing. His shoulders were shaking crazily, he was breathing hard, and was hysterical. Melody, however, was dazed. She felt the warmth of the sun when he laughed. He looked truly dazzling andstriking in her eyes. Yoel laughed for a long while. He had to be slapped by Sage before he finallystopped and restrained himself.

Looking at the well-behaved Melody with her hair her buns, Yoel smiled and asked Sage,” Where inthe world did you get this girl from? Last I heard, none of your brothers got married. Yet, this child isalready all grown up.” Sage said calmly, “Godbrother.” “You have a godbrother?” Yoel exclaimed. Heimmediately became vigilant. “A childhood sweetheart? What does he do for a living? Oh, right, he’salready married and has a child.” His excitement came just as quickly as it went. His suddenastonishment gave Melody a fright. She shook her head and said, “My father is not married. I was anaccident in his life. He had me when he was just twenty-two years old. I'm sure that he's not thatmuch older than you now.” Yoel asked, “Your father had you in his twenties? He got married once hewas legally an adult?”

“Yeah. He was precocious. He was in a hurry to marry my mother. Beautiful women are usuallycursed with unlucky fate. My mother got sick later on and passed away. He then raised me byhimself.”

Melody's tone was very calm and straightforward when she walked about these things.

"So you're also a child without a mother.” Yoel had a rare moment of empathy. “It must have beenhard knowing you lost your mother at such a young age.”

Melody shook her head and stared at him with her clear and big eyes. “I don't see it that way. Idon't have my mother, but I have my aunts. Also, I have so many uncles and my father’s disciplesloving me. Everybody doted on me!”

She smacked her chest, which had yet been fully developed, and was very proud. She had a tinge ofinnocence and ignorance of a young girl. Yoel was speechless.

He did not know how he should react. He failed to hold himself back and burst out laughing

again.
