Chapter 490 Jace could not understand why they diverted the question to him. It came so sudden, and it stunned him. He gave Mendoza a look, thinking, “Are you messing with me? How am Isupposed to answer that?"

He had Mister Norah on one side and Sage on the other side. He must not offend them. A suddensilence loomed in the air. Jace smiled softly and said, “Let's share the benefit. The money will stay inthe family.” Unexpectedly, Wayne and Sage's faces sank simultaneously after he said that. They saidin . unison, “Who's your family?” Stop messing around! Jace chuckled and faced the trouble. He said,“Isn't all the money Mister Norah earned all yours, Sage?” Well, that was true. Wayne snorted andsaid arrogantly, “Yeah. That's it.” Sage did not expose Wayne's true intent. She was not bold enoughto tell the real reason in front of so many people. Wayne agreed to collaborate on the project anddemanded half of the project's profit because he wanted to get justice for her. It was an additionalcompensation from Jace for the divorce. She could not afford to embarrass Wayne and herself. Sageput on a serious face and said firmly, “That's what I meant too.” Wayne and Sage looked at eachother and quickly came to a mutual agreement. They acted like nothing had happened and changedthe topic immediately. “Grandpa, your flower painting is amazing. That's as expected of you,” Sageflattered Wayne with praises.

. Wayne had a kind smile. “Your pine branch painting is great too. You're better than your father. Youhave learned well."!! “Thanks to you for teaching me well.” “There's that, but you've put in the effortto learn. Sage, you're talented and hardworking...”

The grandfather and granddaughter’s interaction was a warm scene. Mendoza squinted and poutedat Jace. “Do you know what you look like now?" Jace lowered his eyes and refused to answer him.He knew Mendoza had nothing good to say.

As expected, Mendoza smiled teasingly and said, “Someone who's stuck in a difficult positionbecause you're unable to please any of them.”

Jace was lost for words.

They spent a full day at the Yuriel Treasure Museum. Sage enjoyed her time working on the jade anddiscussing with Wayne and the jade carving masters about repairing the broken jade pieces. If theydisagreed on something, they would get into a heated discussion, quoting the classics and talkingabout past and present. People might mistake their discussion for a literary exchange meeting. Thejade carving masters did not dress elegantly or luxuriously. However, they were all masters at theirown specializations. They were knowledgeable and might have a deeper understanding of historythan a history professor. One's academic qualification and status had never been the standard tomeasure a person's depth of knowledge. Money and status were insignificant in front of trueknowledge.

The trip was worthwhile for Jace too. He had decided against the majority and advocated the ForgetMe Not project. Thinking about it again, he had indeed made the right decision about the project.Previous Chapter
