Chapter 682

Boom! A loud thunderclap shook the sky. Next came the pouring rain, washing Salem City. Theweather was getting colder with the beginning of autumn.

Sage stayed awake almost all night. She sat by the window with a shawl wrapped around her andstared at the endless rain pouring down. She wanted to get out and soak in the heavy rain.

On the floor were two bottles of heavy liquor and Irish Whisky with high alcohol content. Sage wasnot a good drinker. She easily got drunk and always made a fool of herself. However, for somereason, she became sober as she drank. She wanted to get drunk and fall asleep. It was too hard tostay awake with all the sadness around her. This feeling seemed very strange. She was drowning insorrow with an inexplicable bitterness and emptiness. Her heavy heart was suddenly hollowed out.She could hear the whistling wind blowing through her hollow heart, leaving nothing but a feelingof emptiness behind. As the wind whistled and forth, her heart only ached more. Someone knockedon her door. Luther held a tray in his hand, popping his head into her room. Behind him was agroup of people craning their necks to look inside. The group frowned the moment Luther pushedopen the door. Sage's room reeked of a strong smell of liquor. “Go in.” Nigel, who stood behindLuther, gave Luther a push.

Luther walked over to Sage with a tray and said carefully, “Sage, don't drink so much. It'suncomfortable. Here's some honey water. Drink it to warm your stomach.”

Seth and Nigel followed in. “Yeah, Sage. You can't just drink. Eat something.”

Kane followed in silently and said nothing. He furrowed his brows hard, looking at his little sister'spale face. Sage did not ignore them. She turned her head and looked at them. She moved her lips alittle, “I'm not hungry. I'll eat when I'm hungry.” The brothers were at a loss. They could not forceher, so they all looked back to their big brother, who was the last to come in.

Tim said, “Leave it here. I'll watch her eat.”

Tim waved his hand. Luther and the others looked at Sage worriedly and went out.

Everyone was feeling heavy.

Jace's death turned Sage into a broken robot. Their little sunshine was in despair. An

indescribable depression loomed over them, making the whole house feel cold.

It was like going back three and a half years ago. It was like when mom and dad were killed in a caraccident.

Sage’s eyes remained red and swollen for almost a month. Their death had built an insurmountablemountain in her heart, making her lively heart freeze. The brothers knew what role Jace played inSage's life.

They knew how the little Sage would talk about Jace like the ray of her life. He was her dream andher sunshine.

Of course, they were jealous. They teased her a lot, but all they wanted was for her to be happy. Some people could never have love in their lifetime, so it was certainly a blessing to have someonethey truly love in life.
