A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 779
Chapter 779 The people in Tovres were not accustomed to spending their New Year this way. It wasYale's first time watching the New Year Gala programs on TV. He did not understand many of thejokes, so he tried hard to listen and understand.
Sage was starting to feel sleepy from watching the shows, but she smiled as she turned her headand saw Yale's concentration. He looked so serious, like he was watching some militarydocumentary. “Yale, aren't you sleepy yet?” Yale finally shifted his gaze from the TV to Sage. Heshook his head softly and said, “Not yet.” Sage looked at his restrained look and quietly scolded Timin her heart. Yale was Tim's friend and brother-in-law, but he went upstairs to sleep alone instead ofentertaining him.
“Let's talk,” Sage suggested. Otherwise, she did not know how to spend the long night,
Yale's eyes glowed beautifully in the white light. He looked like he was wearing contacts,
He nodded, “Chat about what?”
Sage was rendered speechless. She could not start an awkward conversation, so she changed hersuggestion, “How about a game?”
She thought about it for a while. The maid who was still awake was already playing some smallgames amongst themself. She asked them, “Do you have any coins?” The girls searched aroundtheir pockets. Not many people carry cash these days, let alone coins.
"Ah. I have one here.” A maid found a golden coin in her pocket and showed it to her. “Miss, is thisfifty cents okay?”
Sage stiffened when she saw the fifty-cent coin. Her past with Jace flashed past her eyes.” Here'sfifty cents. Keep the change.”
Once upon a time, when Jace came to Nadeem City looking for her after their divorce, she sent himoff with a fifty-cent coin. Thinking about it again, Sage smiled. She really had a sharp tongue backthen. Yale looked at her smile and froze. Her smile tonight was small. She only pressed her lipsslightly when she smiled. Her previous small smiles were not as sincere as this joyful smile from herheart. What did she think of? Who did she think of? “It's okay. Give it to me.” Sage took the fifty-cent coin and tossed it in her hand. Then, she turned to Yale and invited him, “Let's start.” “Thegame is simple. The coin has two sides. One person chooses one side. When it's flipped to your side, the other person gets to ask a question.”
Yale looked like he did not understand it very well, so she explained it to him again in
Yathenese.
Yale nodded. “I see. I choose heads.”
"Okay. I'm the tails then.” Sage threw the coin in the air and caught it in her palms. Pop. When sheopened it, both of them looked at it in unison. It was the heads.
"Okay. I have a question for you.” Sage gave it a thought and decided to ask an interesting questionto liven the mood. “You've known Tim for years. Have you ever wanted to strangle him to death?”Yale listened carefully and answered seriously, “Not until that extent, but there were times when Iwanted to beat him up.” “Yeah.” Sage felt like she had found a friend. She lowered her voice andmuttered, “I replace him very annoying sometimes too.” Yale gave it a thought and suggested, “Once Iget better, why don't I tie him up and let you beat him up?” Sage was lost for words. She held backher laughter and asked, “How about now?" Yale said slowly with a serious face, “I'm not recoveredyet. I'm not strong enough to fight him now.”
"Pft! Hahaha...” Sage could not help laughing and even fell on the sofa. The maids were shockedand turned their heads in unison. Was Sage out of her mind?
