A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 780
Chapter 780 Sage laughed so hard that tears came out of her eyes. The Iceman was really aniceman.
Yale did not know what she was laughing at. However, his mood brightened when he saw her smileHe smiled too.
“Let's try again!” Sage tossed the coin to Yale and told him to toss it. Yale placed the coin at theedge of his nail, put his index finger against it, and flipped the coin. The fifty-cent count leaped intothe air and flew high in midair. When it fell back, he caught it with precision.
Yale opened his palm. This time, it was the heads.
“Ah, the heads. It's your turn to ask.” Sage opened a packet of dried mangoes and munched themwhile waiting for Yale to ask her a question.
Yale gave it a thought and said, “Tell me about your childhood. I heard from your brother that youwere a pain in the *ss when you were a kid.”
“Me? No, don't listen to him!" Sage repeatedly denied it, “I'm just a little bit naughty, but I'm not apain in the *ss! I'm better behaved than the boys.”
Yale chuckled with disbelief in his eyes.
Sage briefly thought about her childhood. She was indeed quite rowdy and naughty as a child.” Iwas born in a small town. At that time, my parents hadn't started their business yet. I heard from mymom that my dad was very poor. She picked him out of everything, but he was the poorest amongmany of her admirers. He was so poor that he had to collect junk and pick up all kinds of rags in thestreet daily.”
“I also went to collect junk with him. I climbed on my dad's shoulder and followed him around thestreet. We were always shouting, “Is there any junk for sale?” We always came home dirty, and itdisgusted my mom so much. My mom had to chase us to take a bath before she allowed us toenter the house...”
She spoke vividly, and Yale listened with interest. “How about Tim and the rest? When did you replacethem?”
Yale knew a little about the siblings from the Norah family. He knew they were half-brothers andhalf-sisters with the same mother but different fathers, but he did not know what kind ofrelationship they had.
Tim never told him about it either.
Sage said, “I wasn't very sure either. When I was still young, I remember my parents taking me toplay around the world. She pointed at Tim and told me to call him big brother, then she pointed atKane and told me to call him brother. Eventually, I had more and more brothers. I didn't understandanything as a child. I thought they were good-looking, so I just called them brothers anyway. It'sbeen so many years since then.”
Now that she thought about it, time really flew. So many years had passed, and they had all
grown up.
They had their own loved ones and their little family. The people on the island were celebrating NewYear too.
Jace helped Sawyer prepare a feast for the New Year's Eve dinner. Jace could not drink because hewas injured. He could only watch the rest drink and help to pour the wine.
Jack was not a good drinker. He got drunk very fast and passed out. Jace helped him back to theroom. When he came back to the living room, he heard Primrose and Sawyer talking.
Primrose was a good drinker, but she drank too much and became a little drunk. Her face was soflushed. Even her tone had changed. She sounded very sweet and cute. “Dear, another year haspassed. Thank you for the past year. I love you the most. Let's toast!” She picked up the glass andwanted to drink. Then she suggested, “Hold your cup too. Let's drink together.” Sawyer refused,“No.” “Come on!” Primrose said coquettishly, “If you don't drink, I won't let you go to bed tonight.”Sawyer was speechless and reluctantly lifted his glass. “Okay.” Jace stood not far away and watchedthem drink a toast. He smiled at them, and he did not disturb them.
He finally knew who the drunk Sage resembled the most. She was a lot like her mother. The powerof genetics was really too great. After finishing the toast, Primrose put down the glass and wipedher mouth with the back of her hand. She burped and said to Sawyer, “Okay, now it's your turn.”Sawyer asked in confusion, “What's my turn?” “I've thanked you. Shouldn't you thank me back?”Primrose said, “As a courtesy, you should toast me too. You should thank me for picking you out ofa long line of men queuing for me. Don't I have good taste in men?”
