chapter 6
Avathis, call the police if you want, but are you prepared to deal with the consequences?”
By the end, Sheldon’s voice took on a chilling, callous edge,
Yesterday, I couldn’t understand the look in his eyes before he left.
Then I understood.
He came here today just to punish me.
I was shaking with rage. I turned around and said sharply, “Sheldon, stop slandering me! Give me back my phone!” Lindsay looked at me provocatively, “Is this slander? Just search and you’ll know.”
She walked straight to my grandma’s room, and after a moment, took out a box.
The box contains grandma’s ashes.
“Give me back my stuff!”
I rushed over frantically and tried to snatch the thing from her hand, but was pinned to the ground by the people around me.
I struggled, but my hand was broken.
The sharp pain stimulated me. I stared at Lindsay intently, choking up unconsciously. “As long as you give it back to me, you can search this house as you please.”
Sheldon watched coldly.
“Cynthia, I’m just looking for an earring, is it really worth crying over?”
Lindsay looked at me with an amused expression and asked, “Why are you getting so riled up? Is there something shameful in that box?”
She opened the box and said disdainfully, “Is a handful of dirt worth your tears? Cynthia, you really are an uncultured country girl.”
“Sheldon, are you sure you want to marry such a cheap woman?”
Sheldon said calmly, “Whether she’s cheap or not is not up to you. It has nothing to do with you.”
A trace of resentment flashed across Lindsay’s eyes and she stopped talking.
Sheldon looked at me and said, “Cynthia, I’ll give you one more chance. Come back with me and stop causing any more trouble.”
I gritted my teeth and said, “Go back with you? Dream on!”
His face tensed, “It seems you’re not accepting my kindness, so you’ll just have to keep being punished.”
He immediately made a phone call, “Delay the takeoff time.”
“Remember, as long as you don’t give in, your grandma will be in danger one more day.”
I looked at him in disbelief, feeling that the person in front of me was a stranger.
Sheldon was so despicable that he threatened me with my grandma’s life.
“But grandma is dead.‘
“Now, nothing threatens me.”
I looked into his eyes, which changed from disbelief to anger, and then gradually to calm.
“Sheldon, you are such a complete jerk.”
His face froze for a moment, and he quickly told someone to let me go.
“You forced me to do that.”
Lindsay suddenly looked at him and said in a low voice, “Sheldon, I really can’t replace my earrings. They’re not anywhere.”
Sheldon kept looking at me, “Cynthia, don’t play tricks on me, where are Lindsay’s earrings?”
I sneered, “Haven’t you just searched through everything?”
