I nod and go back into the house. I'm an idiot, but she's driving me crazy! I go up to my room to change, I've only got an hour before the ceremony. I look around for Maeva, but she's not there. I feel a twinge of sadness, but I'm not surprised she hasn't turned up. After what I did to her... I go to the centre of the circle and pick up the knife. I make the sign of our pack with it and pour my blood into the cup. My father does the same and then I drink our two bloods mixed together. A few minutes later, the ceremony is over when suddenly I hear Maeva

scream.

Present

POS Kyle

I race off to see what's happening to my beloved and the scene chills my blood, Maeva in the arms of another man. Without waiting, I threw myself at him and gave him a panoply of blows.

-Stop it Kyle, you're going to f*****g kill him!

I don't stop though, he's dared to touch what's mine! POS Maeva

Kyle's been gone an hour now, I'm not going to his ceremony after what Kevin did to me, he doesn't deserve it! Suddenly I hear someone banging on the door, so I get up from my bed and go to open it. When I open the door, I come face to face with my best friend, Zack. I squeal with delight.

-Zack!

-Bella! Am I glad to see you.

-What are you doing here?

-Your brother sent me.

I'm rolling my eyes.

-Ever the protector.

He laughs and we give each other a huge hug, when suddenly Kyle jumps on his neck.

-Stop it Kevin, you're going to f*****g kill him!

He doesn't even look at me, so I turn into a she-wolf and pounce on him. A long fight begins. I can't control myself and neither can he, the only thing we both want is to win the fight. I'm very good at fighting and so is he, I learnt from my father and I practised as often as my brother. The same goes for Kyle, but he's much stronger than I am. My wolf approaches him, but instead of biting his neck, she rubs against Kyle's neck.

"What are you doing, Mia?

"I'm sorry Maeva, but I need physical contact with my soul mate."

My she-wolf closes her eyes and purrs against Kyle, or rather Kevin. I can hear Kevin purring, as we separate, our wolves relinquish control and we look at each other awkwardly. -I...um...

I don't have time to start my sentence before his lips meet mine, I'm surprised to respond to his kiss, but I needed it. I'd never admit it to myself, but I need Kyle. We part breathlessly, then Kyle's dad arrives.

-Lovers, I've got to go, so I hope I'm not a grandfather when I come back. The Luna ceremony is very soon, Kyle, everything is ready for you and you know what to do.

He nods and George heads off in the direction of who knows where. I turn to Kyle, whose cheeks are a little pink.

-I'm going to bed," I say as I head towards the house.

I take Zack's arm, but Kyle grabs my waist and presses me to his chest.

-Who's this?

-This is my best friend Zack, who's also my dad's best friend's son, my mum's best friend's son and my best friend's soul mate. His eyes widen.

-That's a lot of best friends...

I smile.

-How's Camille?

-She would have liked to come with me, but her sister didn't want to and neither did your brother.

-I don't understand why they don't want to...

-I don't know and my brother asked me to give you a kiss.

He comes up to me and gives me a big slobbery kiss.

-Just like Thomas!

Kevin tightens his grip on me.

-Do other men kiss me?

Yes, quite a few, but Thomas's is my favourite, and I have to admit, with his little face like a six-year-old angel, he's gorgeous...

-That's fine with me, as long as he's not my age and doesn't want to make you his girlfriend.

I give him a little pat on the back and enter the house.

-How long are you here for, Zack? Kyle asks.

-Until Evan says I can go home.

He nods and I can see that Zack is sad.

"Evan Brazeau, I order you to bring Camille to my new pack with Zack and they can leave when you tell them they can leave."

I used my alpha voice.

"OK, OK, she'll be outside your house at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning."

"Very well, if you'd said no, I'd have personally made sure that you couldn't produce any more children!"

With that, I cut the conversation short.

-I'm going to bed, and I'll show you to your room for the moment, because a house awaits you tomorrow.

He nods and I show him to his room.

-If you need anything, just let me know.

-I need Camille...

I smile sadly.

-I'm sure you'll be seeing her soon.

He gives me a small smile and I leave his room to go to mine. I take a quick shower and head for my bed, when I'm picked up by the waist and carried to another room. I recognised Kyle's smell. -Kyle...

-Don't say anything, just one night, I need you to be close to me...

"Accept, please Maeva, I need it, otherwise I won't be able to go on..."

I lie down in the blankets and Kyle comes to join me, he takes my hips and presses me against his chest.

-Good night princess, sleep well.

-And you too.

I close my eyes and fall asleep in the reassuring arms of my soul mate. I never thought I'd sleep so well in my life, Kyle's arms are so comforting and I feel safe with him. Even though he hit me the other day, I know he could never hurt me, but am I ready to belong to someone or am I free to live my life as I wish? I don't know, but my mother always told me that night brings advice, so I hope she's right...
