I close my eyes and fall asleep in the reassuring arms of my soul mate. I never thought I'd sleep so well in my life, Kyle's arms are so comforting and I feel safe with him. Even though he hit me the other day, I know he could never hurt me, but am I ready to belong to someone or am I free to live my life as I wish? I don't know, but my mother always told me that night brings advice, so I hope she's right...

Present

I'm woken by gentle kisses on the neck, I open one eye and then the other.

-Good morning to you too.

-Good morning to you too, did you sleep well?

-Very well, your arms are very reassuring and I have to admit it was the best night of my life.

-Don't be so sure, when you're mine and mine alone, I promise you'll have the best night of your life.

My cheeks turned pink, which made him laugh.

-I'm going to go and have a shower," I said as I got up.

But he decides otherwise.

-Stay another five minutes.

-Or what?

-I'll get in the shower with you.

I shrug and move towards the bed, but at the last moment I run to the bathroom and lock myself in. I laugh and so does he.

-You're going to see what you're going to see when you get out of this bathroom, you're going to regret it.

I laugh and get into the shower. Once I've finished, I wrap myself in a towel, but unfortunately for me I've left my clothes in the bedroom. I open the door and run to the dressing room. I've only got time to put on my underwear when the door opens on Kyle. -I should have been here sooner!

He laughs, oh my god, his laugh is so sexy....

-I know, I've been told that a lot.

I look at him, what's he talking about?

-No," he says, approaching me with a smile.

I glare at him and finish getting dressed.

-Why are you getting dressed? I thought you looked so much better without it," he says, pouting.

-You probably wouldn't have liked my best friend to see me in that outfit, even though he's seen me a few times...

I don't have time to finish my sentence when I replace myself on the bed, him on top of me. He comes up to my neck and nibbles where his mark should be. I shudder at his touch.

-I've found the place where my beautiful mark is going to be," he says proudly.

I roll my eyes and get off the bed.

-I'm going to make something to eat, I'm expecting someone around 8 o'clock, so don't be surprised if you catch a new scent.

-Male or female?

-Does it really matter?

-Oh yes, it does!

-Female, my best friend.

He nods.

-I'll be in my office all morning and in the afternoon we have to learn how to fight as a duo.

Before I leave, he grabs me around the waist and kisses me passionately. I don't push him away, it wouldn't do any good, we're linked. -See you soon, sweetheart.

He winks at me and I head off to the kitchen to make some pancakes. An hour later, the doorbell rings.

-ZACK! I shout.

He comes running in.

-He comes running in.

-Can you get the door, please?

-Er...yes yes.

Kyle makes his way into the kitchen, grabbing my waist possessively, looks like he likes doing that.

-Six, five...

-What are you counting?

-One...

We hear shouting, I laugh and Kyle looks at me incredulously, Camille enters the kitchen and I run into her arms.

-I've missed you so much, sweetheart," she says, giving me a hug.

-I missed you too, Camille, my little caterpillar.

We laugh and Kyle comes up behind me.

-Is he your soul mate? she asks.

I nodded my head and two seconds later Kyle was slammed against the wall by Camille.

-If you dare hurt her or even make her cry, I swear on her head that you'll suffer.

-I'd never do that again.

My best friend looks at me.

-Did he dare?

-It's nothing, Camille.

She lets go and hugs me.

-How about a shopping day?

-Too much, but I've got my training session with Kyle this afternoon.

-So we come back at 1pm.

She goes over to Zack and kisses him.

-See you later, love.

-See you later princess.

Kyle doesn't look at me and goes off to his office, I know he feels bad about what he did.

-I'm going to go and talk to him, I'll be back in five minutes tops.

She nods and I go into the office, and when I walk in it's no longer what you'd call an office. He's sitting on his desk, head in his hands, and I walk over to him. -Kyle...

He looks up and I see his naturally green eyes, red as blood.

-I'm not right for you Maeva, you're too good for me, you deserve someone better...

-No Kyle and as much as I'd like to, it's you I love...

-Do...do you love me?

Her eyes turn green again.

-Yes Kyle, I...I think I love you, but I don't want it to be too soon...

He pulls me into his arms and kisses me.

-I'll take my time, now go and replace Camille, she's waiting for you.

I smile at him and head off to meet Camille for a morning of shopping! We arrived at the shopping centre and headed for the dresses.

-I've heard about the ceremony, what are you going to wear?

-Mine or your sister's?

-I'm going to wear both.

-For Thea's, I thought I'd wear my midnight blue, the one we bought together for the school dance, and for mine, I haven't found anything yet. -Perfect, so let's go and replace that dress!

After several tries, we finally replace the perfect dress, it's mauve and comes above my knees, it's tight around the chest and then it's loose.

-I have to confess something to you," says Camille.

-What's that?

-Me and Zack are engaged.

-That's great, since when?

-He proposed shortly after your parents left, but we're going to wait another two or three years before getting married, because we're still young... -I understand.

I smile at him and we leave the shopping centre to go and get a coffee.

-Tonight is Thea's ceremony to become Luna, you know you missed your brother's ceremony to become the alpha.

-I know, and I missed my soul mate's too.

She raises an eyebrow.

-Because Zack's here," I lie.

-OK, so we'll leave around 6pm and be there by 8pm.

I nod and head towards the training room where Kyle and another guy are already, approaching them. Kyle puts a hand on my waist.

-Meet my female, my soul mate, my life...

-I think he's got it," I say, cutting him off.

The other guy laughs.

-So Hugo, this is Maeva, Maeva this is Hugo.

I shake his hand.

-Nice to meet you, Hugo.

-Same here, now let's get started," he says, excited as a flea.

I laugh and go to change before starting to train with Kyle.
