Alpha King Versus Vampire King -
10.Training?
The entire night was devoid of restful sleep following the occurrence of my disturbing dream. The distant sound of a man beckoning my name disrupted my slumber.
Each time I attempted to approach the source, I would abruptly awaken, filled with fear. The sound of that voice created a sensation of being emotionally linked to this individual, who holds significant importance in my life.
Upon regaining consciousness, I experienced a state of dizziness, akin to the aftermath of a hangover. My head spun, and puzzling images flickered within my mind, eluding comprehension, while my heart exhibited irregular pulsations.
It felt like fragments of my memory were resurfacing, and I began to recollect certain things. For a brief moment, a question arose in my mind – whether I had been married or had someone close to me before my memory loss.
I had a sense that this person was awaiting my return, urging me to come back to them. Seeking to distract myself, I decided to put the thoughts aside. Following breakfast, I invited Cres to take a walk with me.
Cres engaged in various conversations, but my attention was minimal, as my mind was preoccupied with deciphering the puzzle. Everything seemed interconnected like a complex puzzle, and the available information felt insufficient; I yearned to unravel the complete picture.
The laughter of children pulled me back to the present moment. Cres led me to play with them, and during the playful chase, I unintentionally embraced Cres, mistaking him for someone else. Apologizing, I noticed him gazing at me, almost as if he could perceive my inner thoughts.
It would be quite intriguing if I possessed the ability to delve into others’ thoughts, but our current level of human advancement doesn’t allow for such capabilities.
However, I can’t help but sense that Anord is concealing something from me. Whenever I attempt to comprehend him, his intentions seem to grow more elusive.
At times, he displays affection and consideration, yet in other instances, he transforms into an insufferable individual. His actions appear self-centered, lacking consideration for others’ emotions.
I’ve been making an effort to avoid interacting with him, though his physical touch lingers on my skin. Strangely, despite my reservations, a part of me desires his embrace.
The reason for his comforting presence eludes me, and subconsciously, I replace myself longing for him. He aided me in overcoming the nightmarish ordeal that had left me terrified. Upon awakening in this unfamiliar place, he prevented me from stumbling.
Reflecting on the recent sequence of events, it becomes apparent that Anord consistently emerges when I’m in distress or feeling low.
Yet, I replace myself pondering, why is he extending his assistance? He doesn’t strike me as someone who would exhibit concern for others or even hold anyone in high regard. This leads me to question Anord’s motivations behind offering his help.
Alternatively, perhaps I am overanalyzing the situation. Everyone I’ve encountered in this place appears to possess positive qualities, and I’ve formed a few friendships with individuals who have warmly accepted my presence as a stranger.
Tate, Dan, Cres, Lucy – they have all treated me with a sense of familiarity, as if I were one of their own. Regrettably, Anord’s thoughts remain a mystery to me, leaving me uncertain about his intentions.

During the following morning’s breakfast, my attention was caught by Dan and Tate engaged in a conversation about some form of training. Their well-defined, muscular physiques left me curious as to the purpose of their training.
“Training? It’s hard to believe you two need it. Your builds are already quite impressive,” I remarked, gesturing towards Dan’s muscular arm.
“We might be, but we’re discussing new recruits,” Tate responded casually as he munched on his toast.
“So you both are instructors then? Well, I’d be interested in giving it a shot. I’ve been wanting to learn how to fight,” I declared.
“Really? You come across as delicate and fragile. It could be a tough road for you,” Dan chimed in, assessing my physique.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover. I might surprise you, and I’m genuinely eager to give it a try. Who knows, I might even give you a run for your money. What do you say to that challenge?” I playfully taunted, causing Anord to choke on his food.
“Here,” Dan offered, passing Anord a glass of water to help him recover.
Upon concluding our breakfast, Dan led me, accompanied by Anord, to the gym. Inside, individuals were engrossed in their training routines. Subsequently, Anord directed them to vacate the premises, save for one participant who remained.
They left one by one, respectfully bowing their heads, as if paying homage to royalty. The sole remaining presence was a female combatant, and I couldn’t help but be impressed by her formidable physique. Her countenance betrayed no emotion, evoking the image of a stoic warrior from ancient times, a term Dan attributed to her. The inhabitants here appeared to hold deep reverence for the forest, evident in their use of archaic terminology.
The warrior proceeded to demonstrate several techniques, guiding me through the motions as I earnestly practiced under her tutelage. Amidst the enjoyable practice, I noticed Anord observing me with an amused expression.
After half an hour of instruction, the time came for me to showcase the moves I had acquired and engage in actual combat. Encouraged by Tate, I began to demonstrate the learned maneuvers.
Initially, I received a pair of punches and a strike to my cheek. However, averse to defeat, I harnessed my full strength, delivering a forceful kick to her abdomen before launching into a series of strikes.
My velocity surged, culminating in my victory over her. My amazement was palpable as I gazed upon her sprawled form on the ground, her face marred by a bruise.
I was left astounded, unclear about the source of my unexpected triumph. It was as if some extraordinary force propelled me to win. Tate expressed her support with cheers and handed me a towel, while Dan extended his congratulations. Anord, on the other hand, simply observed me, his gaze unyielding.
“Where did you learn that technique? I can hardly believe my eyes. It’s as if you possess two distinct personas,” Tate inquired, passing me a water bottle.
“I’m equally puzzled, though I doubt it’s a matter of two personas. Perhaps I’ve acquired this skill previously,” I mused aloud.
“Maybe you have an inherent talent for combat,” Dan suggested, his expression pensive.
“No, that can’t be. I...” My anxiety heightened as I clutched the water bottle tightly.
“Relax, they’re just having fun with you,” Anord interjected, a smug grin adorning his face.
