Liviana’s POV

“I already killed them”

I still couldn’t believe how tragic Dante’s past had been.

Although I feel relieved that the people who killed his partner and child is no longer walking on earth, I still worry about him.

No wonder he had been so afraid of being with us.

He was so afraid that something bad would happen to us with him around too.

There was a knock on the door and it revealed Edmond.

“I just wanted to let you know that Alfred and Evelyn can move to their new home in 3 days tops” he said. I nodded thankfully.

“Thank you” I said. He nodded.

“Also, I’m working on the room for Dante already. Unless you want him to have your dad’s room” hr suggested. I shook my head.

“Please get him a room of his own. And maybe buy him some new set of clothes so he wouldn’t have to use my dad’s. I don’t want him having his brother’s hand me downs” I told him. He nodded.

There was silence for a moment.

“Are you okay, Livi?” he asked.

“Why wouldn’t I be?” I said. He sighed.

“A lot of things have been happening lately. I know that you can handle all of it very well but Livi, you’re only 18. You could barely enjoy your teenage years since you had to become the Alpha of such a big pack at such a young age” he said worried.

“This was my choice, Edmond. I chose this. I’m taking responsibility” I told him. He stared at me for a moment.

“Dimitri would be so proud of you right now. But please think of yourself too, Liviana” he said.

“You’re not alone, okay? You have us. We may not be b***d related but I watched you grow up too. My family is yours and you are ours. B***d or not” he told me. I gave him a thankful smile.

“I know. And for that, I am thankful” I said. He gave me a small smile and bowed to leave.

A lot of things really have been happening and I’d be lying if I said that I don’t feel even slightly overwhelmed.

I had just turned 18 and all the changes going on were not ones I had expected.

I replace my mate and it turned out that he’s the prince and the heir to the throne of Lunar.

I replace out that I am in fact royalty and not just a regular one.

I’m the daughter of the King of Lunar, my home territory and the Princess of Halo, our enemy territory.

The father whom I loved the most and knew all my life turned out to be the father who took me in and not my biological father.

My biological father is in captivity with the father I grew up with.

My mother is a guardian.

My foster father’s brother is a hunter and he treats me like his real niece.

It was worst than a TV drama.

How did I even end up in this situation?

Moon Goddess, what are you planning?

I sighed and went to my bathroom to take a cold shower to ease my mind. Then I decided I wanted to go for a run.

Maybe I can empty my mind a bit.

After my shower, I didn’t bother change but grabbed a set clothes to change into in case I wanted to shift later on.

I put the clothes in my mouth before out of the balcony while shifting.

I landed on my paws and sprinted into the woods.

I set aside all my thoughts, my worries and everything else as I went on my run.

I needed peace.

I needed solitude.

I needed freedom.

But most of all, I needed answers.

I don’t know exactly how long I was on the run but all I know was I somehow felt lighter.

Like for a moment, I had nothing else to worry about.

When I was going back, I decided to stop by at the river.

I shifted and wore my clothes before stepping on to the platform.

I looked at my reflection and of the reflection of the moon.

I looked up.

“Why me?” I said.

“Out of everyone, why me?!” I shouted at the moon.

“I was a result of forbidden love. My parents were taken away from me. I lived my life as a lie. Why is my fate like this is I’m supposed to be the one to bring everyone together?!” I screamed frustrated as a tear fell from my eye.

“How am I supposed to bring everyone together when I’m the one falling apart?” I whimpered as I fell to my knees.

“I just want my loved ones back. Why is that so hard?” I muttered helplessly.

Then I felt someone else’s presence.

I looked up to see Luan staring at me at the other side of the platform.

I bit my lower l*p and burst into tears again as I stood back up and ran to him as he met me half way.

“Shhh I’m here now. I’m sorry you had to go through all these” he cooed as he caressed my back.

“You don’t deserve to feel this. You don’t deserve to suffer. You’re an amazing person, Liviana” he tried comforting me as I continued to sob.

“I hope I can take the pain away, baby. I hope I can just take all of it away because I hate seeing you in pain. I’m so sorry” he kept saying.

“I just want them back” I sobbed.

I just want my family back.

“I know, love. I know” he said and planted a k**s on my head.

Luan hoisted me up wrapping my legs in his torso as I buried my face on his neck before going to the end of the platform and sitting down with me still attached to him.

I cried a little more then started calming down with Luan’s soothing words.

The mate bond really does wonders.

“Are you feeling better now?” he asked softly and I nodded slightly embarrassed now.

I looked at him and he wiped my cheeks.

“I love how you can show me your vulnerability but I hate seeing you hurting” he said staring straight into my eyes. I bit my lower l*p a little and his eyes shifted to them.

My heart started to beat faster.

“I want to k**s you” he whispered.

My heart skipped a beat.

My body moved on its own and claimed his lips.

It was a passionate k**s.

Full of desire.

Full of need.

And in that moment, I realized I needed him more than I wanted to.
