Alpha Queen -
Chapter 40
Liviana’s POV
“My pack is under attack” the Alpha said and my eyes widened.
Sht.
The Alpha rushed out of the room with his Beta while the other Alphas probably mind linked their own pack of their situation.
“Alpha” Edmond called me.
“Send out some of our own warriors to their territory and throw in a doctor or two on the field too. I’ll lead them on my own. You, Alex and Dante stay here while we help them” I said standing up.
Everyone’s attention turned to me.
“This meeting will be held some other time. Go back to your lands and stay alert. My men will see you out” I said and made my way out as Dante followed me.
“I’m coming with you” he said but I shook my head at him.
“No. Stay here and protect the pack” I said sternly. Dante growled and I glared at him.
Dante took a deep breath before looking at me apologetically.
“Why do you need to go there in person?” Dante asked worried.
“They were bait” I said and he looked at me confused as we got out of the pack house.
I sighed.
“The rogues that attacked us. They were bait to get the other Alphas out of their lands” I told him and his own eyes widened in realization.
I had realized it only earlier when the Alpha announced the situation.
I was quick to catch on to it but I didn’t realize how smart the rogues were to think of something like this.
I’m sure they knew about our last meeting and intentionally launched an attack knowing we’d hold another meeting.
That’s smart.
But now I’m extra pissed.
How dare they.
My warriors gathered in front of the pack house and bowed their heads to me.
“Liviana, I can’t let you go alone. It’s too dangerous” Dante said as he held my arm to stop me.
I held his hand and looked at him straight in the eyes.
“I’ll be fine. I can’t let my men go in a foreign land to fight another pack’s enemies. I need to be the one to take responsibility of them” I told him.
Dante stared straight into my eyes and then sighed before pulling me into a hug.
“Please be careful” he whispered to me and I caressed his back.
“I’ll be back, uncle. I promise” I whispered back and his hug tightened.
“Please protect our pack while I’m gone” I said and he nodded before planting a k**s on the top of my head.
I turned to look at my warriors.
“The Northern pack is under attack by rogues. As the most capable pack around, I want to send help to them. You may choose to join me or stay. It is your choice and I will not hold it against you. Those who will choose to help will be led by me personally” I announced.
“Is there anyone who wish to stay behind?” I asked for the last time.
My warriors stood their ground.
“No, Alpha” they said in unison and I smiled proudly.
I held my head high.
“Let’s go” I said and shifted to my wolf as the warriors followed.
We sprinted out and made our way towards the Northern pack.
It would be a long run.
Maybe an hour even in our wolf form.
I’m sure that Northern pack’s Alpha isn’t anywhere near his land yet either.
An hour is a lot of time and it might be too late by then.
But how?
“Take a right, Liviana” Amaris mind linked me.
“What? That’s not the direction to the Northern pack” I replied confused.
“I know. But trust me, Liviana” she replied. I huffed.
Fine.
“We’re taking a detour. Follow me” I mind linked my men.
We took a right like Amaris had instructed.
“Liviana, where the hell are you?!” Luan mind linked me.
Oh.
I almost forgot he was still around.
Wow.
I’m such a good mate.
“I’m sorry. I’ll get back to you after all this” I replied to him and completely cut him off.
“You’re one hell of a mate, Liviana” Amaris told me but I only huffed.
It’s better that he doesn’t get involved.
It’s not that I don’t trust Luan.
It’s that I don’t want him getting hurt or getting in trouble because of me.
I may not have always got along with Luan since we met and I may not have accepted him to be part of my life at first but I’d be lying if I said that hasn’t changed.
I can deny it all I want but both Amaris and I know the truth.
I don’t think I’ll tell him anytime soon how I feel because it’s not the right time or situation to do that considering what has been happening lately.
But I accept him now.
I accept Luan as my mate.
But I will still remain unmarked.
For now.
“Liviana here” Amaris reached out to me and I stopped and so did my men.
“This is a dead end, Amaris” I told her.
“No. Focus, Liviana. Look” she said and I focused infront of me.
Then I saw it.
I saw a ripple.
I carefully approached it as I touched it with my paw.
Then there was a ripple effect.
A portal?
How is that even—wow.
I turned to look at everyone and sure enough they seemed as surprised, confused and fascinated by it although we were all in human form.
“Prepare yourselves” I mind linked everyone.
“Yes, Alpha” they replied and I stepped into the portal as everyone followed.
As soon as I got out, I smelled the scent of fire, b***d and rogues.
I low growl emitted from my chest as my warriors all got through.
“Let’s cover every side of the land. Kill all rogues on site. Help the wounded. Return alive” I commanded.
“Yes, Alpha” my men replied through the link and we separated into groups to different directions.
I rushed to where the screams and smell of b***d was coming from and I reached their pack house.
I tore into the first rogue I saw and pierced my claws into its chest ripping its heart out.
I growled loudly and I saw how the rogues in the vicinity turned to look at me.
My gold eyes glowed brightly as the urge to kill every single rogue intensified.
The rogues howled and the real fight began.
I went from one rogue to another as my men fought alongside me.
I ripped their throat out, bit onto their necks and ripped their heads off of their bodies.
I had never felt so infuriated before.
The rogues made me their main target as about 5 of them circled me while growling and snarling.
They lunged at me together but I jumped up and landed behind one of them.
I bit and drag it by its tail as I through it to a nearby tree earning a yelp and whimper from it.
The other rogues growled angrily at me and tried to attack me once again but I only took them one by one.
I pushed through and helped my warriors on the other side.
My warriors and Northern pack’s warriors fought side by side.
I took down about 3 more rogues all by myself.
There was a lot of rogues.
More than I could count.
A loud growl resonated in the area and I turned to look at the owner of it.
I saw a big brown wolf with a big scar by its eye.
It was the biggest among the rogues.
As big as an Alpha.
But not bigger than I am.
It sprinted towards me with its canines out but I dodge it just in time.
It’s fast.
It growled, snarled and snapped at me.
Then it pounced on me quickly and end up colliding with one another as we rolled on the ground.
I g*****d and growled.
I’m up for a real challenge now.
