Alpha Queen
Chapter 94

Liviana’s POV

“Am I not right…your majesty?” he whispered to my ear.

I gulped.

He chuckled and it sent shivers down my spine.

My jaw clenched as I glared at him while he had a smirk on his face.

“Pardon, your highness? I couldn’t quite understand what you meant” I played innocent.

King Luis smirked at me then he looked at Luan.

“Son, why don’t you get your mate and I a cup of tea” he said to Luan.

Luan glanced at me with a worried look.

“Now” King Luis said with authority.

Luan sighed as he made his way to the kitchen.

As soon as Luan left, King Luis turned his head to look at me with a serious expression.

“Do you really not know? Or are you playing dumb?” he said in a dangerous tone.

My brows furrowed at him.

“Me? Why would I…play dumb, your highness?” I asked back with a smirk.

He squinted his eyes at me.

“Do you really expect me to believe that by the way you’ve acted towards me?” he said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

“What do you expect? You and your men came in my pack territory without a notice. Twice. I’m Alpha to this pack. Do you expect me to be so welcoming and respectful when you can’t give me the same respect?” I said with a chuckle of disbelief.

“How dare you speak so freely to your king” he said in disbelief.

“I was never one who cared about the royal family matters. I didn’t consider anyone my king. Why should I now?” I said and he looked at me with amusement.

“You’re different. The bad kind of different” he said.

“I’m not sure whether I should be impressed or threatened by you” he continued.

I chuckled.

“Why would you be threatened by a pack Alpha? Do you perhaps…” I paused as I stepped closer.

The King’s guards immediately drew their swords as they pointed it at me.

The King motioned for them to stay put and stay back.

I smirked.

“Perhaps you’re hiding something. Something you did but refuse to let anyone know” I said and I saw an unreadable expression flash on his face.

But it was gone as quickly as it came.

“Am I right…your highness?” I said and I saw his jaw clench.

The King’s eyes glowed as he grabbed me by a neck.

“How dare you!” he growled at me.

I smirked as he tightened his hold on me.

“Father! Liviana!”

I heard Luan shout and the sound of glasses shattering on the floor.

He was stopped by the guards as he was coming to us.

“How can you disrespect royalty?” King Luis hissed at me.

“Like I said, I don’t care who you are. In my eyes…you’re just a threat to my people” I said.

His grip tightened on my neck even more.

I smirked as my eyes glowed bright gold before King Luis.

King Luis’ eyes widened in shock and he let me go.

I can feel the burning sensation by neck caused by his grip.

“Liviana!” Luan shouted as he came rushing to my side in worry.

Then, he turned to look at his father.

“What are you doing? Why would you do that to my mate?!” Luan growled at him but King Luis ignored him.

King Luis stared at me in shock.

“I suggest that you leave quietly while I’m being patient and nice. You…wouldn’t want to face the wrath of the first female Alpha of Lunar, don’t you now?” I said.

King Luis glared at me as his eyes glowed for a moment.

“I’ll be back” he said as he walked away and his men followed him.

As soon as he was out, my knees weakened and Luan caught me but I pushed him away from me.

I let myself sit on the floor as I held my chest.

My heart was pounding so fast that it can burst out any minute.

“What happened? Why did my father do that?” Luan asked worried.

I looked at him.

“He knows” I simply said as I forced myself to stand back up again.

Luan’s eyes widened.

“What? How?” he asked in shock.

“How would I know?” I said as I took a step but almost fell so Luan held me.

I pushed him away again.

“Don’t touch me” I said.

“Liviana” Luan said softly and I glared at him but didn’t say anything.

I carefully took another step as I walked away from Luan.

I went outside and went to the training grounds.

I needed to get my frustration out on something.

I trained for hours.

Then, it suddenly rained but I still didn’t stop.

I had pent up frustration and I needed it out.

Because if I don’t take it out, it’ll eat me up inside.

“AHHHHHHH” I screamed as I punched the punching bag and it left a hole in it.

I kept punching it and destroying it until it was scattered into pieces.

Then, I fell on my knees as I punched the ground multiple times.

I couldn’t feel anything but frustration.

I didn’t even feel the pain even when I could see my bruised and bloody fists.

Tears began to burst out from my eyes as my screams were replaced with sobs.

“Liviana”

Someone pulled me to stop me and lifted me off the ground.

I turned to look at the person with a glare.

But then, I saw my father.

My dad.

The only King I’ll ever actually consider.

“Oh sweetie” he said and my eyes softened.

“Dad” I sobbed and he hugged me.

I kept crying and crying while I was in my dad’s embrace.

I felt so tired.

So burned out.

So drained.

Like I had no more to give.

I was slowly losing it.

I was slipping away.

I could feel it but refuse to acknowledge it.

“Shhhh it’s okay. I’m here. Dad is here” Dad said as he caressed my back.

I kept crying and the sky cried with me.

“I’m sorry, Liviana. I’m sorry. I was insensitive. I really was. I’m sorry. Dad is sorry” he cooed.

I calmed myself down.

After a while, we found shelter from the rain.

“Are you okay? Are you not hurt?” Dad asked as he checked my body for any injury.

Then, he looked at my fists and he sighed when he saw the stains of b***d left.

He reached out for my hands and held it.

“Your mom was really right when he said we were alike in personality” he said with a slight chuckle.

“What made you so upset? What did that man do? Did he lay his hands on you? I should kill him for making you upset” he said angrily.

I sighed as I lightly squeezed my dad’s hands.

“Calm down. How did you know he was here?” I asked him instead.

Dad sighed.

“Father’s instinct. I sensed there was something wrong so I came rushing here. Then, I smelled the familiar scent of the royal guards and that man” he explained.

“What did he do to you?” he asked worried.

I looked at my father.

Should I tell him?

What if he does something that can put him in danger because of me?

What if he gets caught again?

What if he loses control?

What will happen then?

It’ll all be my fault.

“He just came to visit Luan. That’s all” I lied.

I couldn’t tell him.

How could I when I know very well of his capabilities?

I don’t want to risk it.

“Then, what made you so upset?” he asked with his brows furrowed.

“Well, one he came to my pack without prior notice and he looks down on me and men. Of course, I’d be upset” I said.

I’m sorry, dad.

I can’t put you in danger again.

I dont want to.

“That punk. You’re better than him by more than a million times” he said with a scowl on his face.

I chuckled.

“Are you not mad at me anymore?” I asked him.

Dad looked at me softly.

“How can I ever be mad at you? You’re my daughter. The one and only. How can I manage to get mad at my princess?” he said as he carefully pulled me for a hug.

“I’m sorry…for hurting you that time” he muttered.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine. I was more worried about you and Luan” I said.

Dad sighed.

“I can’t…approve of him yet, Liviana. But I trust you and I know you wouldn’t make an unwise decision” he said.

“I trust you” he muttered and looked at me.

“Thank you” I said and smiled.

Dad and I stayed in the shade as we waited for the rain to stop.

I refused to go back to the pack house just yet.

“So, how are you and your mate?” Dad suddenly asked.

I sighed.

“We’re not exactly okay after that day. He’s mad that I kept a secret from him. He’s been ignoring me a lot and I had enough of it” I said.

“How childish” Dad said and I laughed.

“Aren’t you the same? You literally attacked him without much thought when you found out who he was” I said with a chuckle.

“That’s different” he said as he looked away.

I laughed.

“But he really is a good person, Dad. If he wasn’t, I don’t think I would still be here now” I told him.

“Still…I can’t trust him yet. I can’t trust anyone else yet until I’m sure no one can try to harm you ever again” he said.

I smiled.

“I can protect myself well, dad. You don’t have to protect me” I said.

“I will protect you. No matter what you say, I will protect you. For as long as I can, I will…protect my daughter” he said while looking at me.

And I will do the same to you.

I will…protect you, dad.

No matter what it takes, I will…protect everyone.

Even if it means I have to sacrifice my own life.

I don’t care.

As long as, my loved ones are all safe.

Nothing else matters.

That’s my purpose.
