“Hmm, let's see what's wrong with you,” Levy leaned forward and grasped Lily's wrist beforemuttering, “ Elenchos.”

A green ball of light shimmered in the air before shooting right through Lily's chest and lighting upher body checking every vital organ along with the curse that has been inflicted on her. BecauseLevy was so focused, she couldn't hear Logan walking in the room and creeping right behind herback, it wasn't until he came to a stop behind her, looked at her holding Lily's wrist and out ofnowhere spoke, “ Are you pretending to be a doctor?”

Startled by his voice, Levy jumped up on her chair before turning to look at him, her arm draped onthe back of her chair. “ Are you trying to give me a heart attack? What is the meaning of this?”

He raised a brow and took a step back before walking around the bed and halting at the other sidebefore pulling a chair with his feet. “ Well, this is my first time seeing a shifter getting startled. As faras I know, every shifter’s senses are good enough that no one can sneak up on them, it is not myfault that staying in the prison has rotten yours.” Taking a seat on the chair, he leaned back. * By theway what are you doing? I asked you to break her curse, not play doctor with her.”

Levy poked her cheek with the tip of her tongue as she turned around and looked at the mandriving her nuts and said, “ Are you a witch or I am? Do you think breaking a curse is just a matter ofseconds? Like did you expect me to just walk into the room and mutter a series of spells and thenset her right?”

“If not?” He said sounding so oblivious that Levy wished she could punch him in the face for once.She saw him check the time on his wristwatch and further give another addition to his stupidsentence. “ I am in a hurry like I have no desire to keep you for dinner, so if you can,” he snapped hisfingers and looked at her impatiently. * Wrap it up in a jiffy then it will be nice, your face,” waving hishand in front of his face, he continued, “ Kind of ruins my appetite so if undo the curse and get lostas fast as you can, if you don’t mind?”

Now, no matter how good of a temper she had, his rude words were enough to make her snap.Kicking back her chair, she stood up and placed her hands on her hips as she stared at him, “ Lookhere doofus, don't think that I am wasting my time because I want to spend extra quality time withyou,” she quoted the words “quality time". “ I am doing what I am supposed to do and I have nointention of breathing the same air as a motherfucking tyrant who has no understandingwhatsoever of how he should collect evidence instead of sending an innocent woman like me toimprisonment you hear that? Staying with you in the same room is like a literal torture and I have nointerest in going through it, got it?” She sat down and folded her arms before tipping her chin athim. “ If you have so many problems with me then you can go ahead and get another witch to do itfor you, in fact if not for you, I would have already found someone to be with for the rest of my life.”Logan ignored the piercing pain in his chest, he knew that even though he hasn't claimed Levy, shewas still his mate. Her saying those words and him feeling a sharp pain in the chest was nothingmore than the mating bond messing up with him, he sucked in a breath and smirked, “ You suresound confident, were you going to pick someone off the road or something?” His gaze flickered tothe brand of a murderer on the back of her hand and Logan snickered, “ Oh I forgot. You don't havemuch choice do you?”

Not the least bit amused, Levy laughed drily. “ Well if the moon Goddess messes with someone andgives them a mate like you, then they will surely pick up any trash on the road, you know why?" Herlips hitched up another notch when she saw that his smile has turned into a scowl. “ Because evenas trash they will be much better than you.”

After that she ignored what Logan had to say and continued with her check-up, she once again heldLily's wrist in her hand and started to take another good look at what might have happened to herthat day, maybe if this girl woke up, she might be able to clear her name off from the brand of amurderer?

However, the more she looked into the magic that was flowing in Lily's body the more her frowndeepened to the point where Logan also started to worry, as he looked at her and asked, “ What'sgoing on? Why are you looking at her like that, don't tell me that you cannot undo the curse as wellbecause I know you can, I heard your father say that you can undo almost all the curses.”

Her father?

Levy's eyes flashed, when she was young, she would often believe that there was nothing wrongwith her father —— she believed that he was just albeit strict and nothing else but now that she washearing Logan say that her father was the one who put her into this job despite having a good idea,how much she would hate coming back here, Levy couldn't help but doubt whether her father reallyhad any good feelings for her because all she could see was nothing but some sort of psychologicalmind fuck being played on her.

She let go of Lily's hand and finally said the one thing that she realised after checking up, she wouldtake care of her father later on. “I would have but the thing is ... she is not cursed.”
