Soul ripped in three parts

“What do you mean by that she is not cursed?” Her words caused Logan to not only sit up straightbut also jump off the chair that he was sitting in. “ If she is not cursed then why isn't sheunconscious like that for years, Levy Taylor even if you want to wash off your name, you shouldn'tmake a gamble with someone's life, I didn't expect that you will be someone this ruthless, I reallyunderestimated you.”

" Maybe if you even learned how to listen to others then it would have been much better,” sneeredLevy as she stared at him, did he really have the right to look at her as if she was the scummiest ofall? If anything he was much worse than her. Betraying his mate, choosing another female and thenfinally sending her to prison even without any proper evidence, even though she was to kill theentire world, Logan didn’t have the right to look down on her! “ I said that she isn't cursed but Inever said that there was nothing wrong with her. If only you stayed put and kept your mouth shut,you would have learned what happened to her without offending me.”

Logan ignored her last sentence, he didn't really care whether she got offended or upset with hiswords. Instead, all his attention was on Lily when he heard that something was wrong with her, heimmediately asked, “ What is wrong with her?”

Levy sneered, of course. Like always he only cared about Mavis and her sister, she was nowhere onhis list of important people. She suppressed the anger that was bubbling in her heart and said, “Sheisn't unconscious because of a curse or anything of the sort, the reason she is like this is that hersoul is split.”

"What?“Logan asked with a frown as he looked at Levy.

" She was supposed to be a sacrifice,” answered Levy, turning her head to look at the unconsciousLily. “ You do understand what a sacrifice is right?”

Of course, he understood what a sacrifice was but —- “ What does that have to do with Lily?"

"It has everything to do with her,” answered Levy as she looked up at Logan. Her eyes danced withmockery and disdain, “ When a human tries to cast a spell without having an ounce of magic in hisor her blood then they need to have a sacrifice at ready. There are five stages of spells, the first onebeing the simplest with a sacrifice of an inanimate object precious to them and the most difficultone is the level five spell, it only works when there is a human sacrifice ready for them to offer.”“But she is alive!” Logan could understand what she was saying but at the same time, he wasn'tprepared to accept what she was saying. Lily was used as a sacrifice? Who will do that? According toLevy, it was done by a human but if this was done by a human then didn’t it mean that Levy wasinnocent?

The second the word “innocent’ popped in his head, Logan felt a heart-stopping pain shoot throughhis head and he nearly bent double with pain. No, there was no way she was innocent, she mighthave asked a human to do something like that ...maybe she was the one who wanted to take bothMavis and Lily down that was why she did that —— and now that she knew that Lily was still aliveshe was trying to make excuses for herself. Most probably she was worried that if Lily woke up, shewill tell the truth to him and the pack maybe that was why she was acting as such...but he wouldn'tlet her go either, she will have to wake Lily up no matter what!

He heaved a calming breath while rubbing his forehead and said, “ What does that have to do withLily and her soul being split, give me a proper explanation.”

* A human sacrifice or any sacrifice is supposed to be done with great concentration and focus,because only then can it be counted as successful but there are times when the concentration of thecaster is shifted and unfortunate accident like these might happen,” she pointed her finger at Lilyand continued, “ Most probably the one who cast the spell whatever it was, he or she might havesuffered through a moment of hesitation or something of the sort and that was why Lily who wassupposed to die had her soul ripped in three pieces.”

* Three?”

She nodded. “That's right three, like a human mind that has conscious, subconscious andunconscious parts—— the soul also has three parts basically you can call them the virtuous, the eviland the neutral. When the three of them are combined together they become a complete soul andhelp a human work as normal but in case something shakes the frequency between them thenthat's when the trouble starts, the level five grade spell caused these three elements to shake upand go into an unstable equilibrium. That caused her soul to separate into three parts and two ofthem have escaped her body and only the neutral is what remains inside her because only one-thirdof her soul is in her body, she is unconscious like this and cannot grow past the time she has beenattacked.”

Finished dealing with the explanation she leaned back and stared at Logan, he wasn't looking at herthough, he was looking at Lily, his eyes dimmed and whatnot. She took one glance of his aggrievedexpression and looked away—— hah that girl was only lying on the bed and yet he was thatdistressed for her and when it came to her, he didn't even flinch while unsheathing his claws.

For two to three minutes no one spoke.

It was Logan who finally broke the silence as he asked, “ So, what are we supposed to do now?”
