Alpha´s curvy bullied human mate -
Chapter 90: Recovering the pack
Nathaniel
"Something happened..." Michael tells me as we run. Hunter had started to wake up, but I still didn't have the strength to transform.
All around us, the enemy forces and our pack clashed. Michael fought with everything he had and called out to his warriors.
"Pursue Marco! Don't let the Council escape!" he said as I dodged wolfsbane bullets.
People were running everywhere, and I had lost sight of Regina and Erica. What had started as a ceremony had turned into a battlefield that smelled of blood and death.
"We have to attack the masked ones!" I yelled to Michael as I saw men coming out of the pack house with much more powerful weapons, they were like submachine guns firing many more bullets per minute.
"These fuckers are coming with everything!" I yelled to Michael, I had to protect my warriors, I took the weapons from the fallen warriors and started shooting.
I felt that so much time of waiting, being silent, keeping my head down and taking care of myself had taken effect. I felt my strength growing, my body filling with my alpha power. I hit the bastards who came at me, took their heads and slammed them to the ground.
"Alpha... we need more warriors, many of our most loyal warriors are still in the dungeon. We were planning an ambush to free you, and Marco has them imprisoned..." Michael tells.
"To the dungeons, come on everyone, let's free our people!" I yell.
Something told me that this was just the beginning, that more would come. I had killed Karl, who was an important piece, but I felt that there were many more pawns in this game and I had yet to meet them all.
"Look out, take cover!" I said as I led the assault on the dungeons. I knew this place very well, and no doubt Michael knew all the secrets.
"The back door..." I whispered to him as he slowly opened it and I fired in. Marco's warriors were relaxed, completely convinced that nothing would happen to them here.
"Ambush!" some of them shouted before I finished them off. In the cells I could see my warriors, cramped, many wounded; but their faces changed completely when they saw me. "Alpha!" they cried, bowing.
"We're going to get our pack back, but we need everyone's help," I said, happy to see them all again.
We started to beat the fences and take the chains off our warriors, and we were already tending to their wounds.
I took ropes and chains that were covered with wolfsbane with my bare hands and broke them.
"Alpha!" the others exclaim in surprise.
"Don't worry... I think I've been injected with so much wolfsbane that my body is starting to build up resistance."
The dungeon would be our base for now, and as we settled in, I saw that other cells were occupied.
Rogues prisoners.
"Alpha... we are Marco's enemies..." the man, Daniel, said to me. He had not been mistreated by my warriors, but he looked tired. However... there was a glimmer in his eyes, perhaps hope. "But you attacked us..." Michael said roaring.
"Marco... he manipulates us, he has our mates... we are at the mercy of what he wants..."
"For a mate, a wolf will do anything..." said Michael which surprised me, I thought he was the person who would be most against the rogues.
"You're better off here, there's a big battle going on..." I tell him.
"We would rather fight with you if you allow us..." the man tells me, and I don't think twice about it when they are released and wait for our orders.
"Our main goal right now is to get Marco and stop him from doing any more damage. If Marco falls, everything falls, he is not only the Alpha, but he has dark business with the Council and the rest of the allied packs. We have to look for him and at the same time try to protect the people in the pack as much as possible" I say.
"Yes, Alpha!"
"We need to know where their headquarters are, where they might be right now..."
"All orders came from the pack house, they probably took your office as well as the rest of the rooms," one of the woman warriors told me.
"Then we'll go there first. Remember, there are a lot of innocent people along the way that we need to protect," I said, advising everyone to take weapons and protect themselves, this was the dirtiest war of all. As we moved on, I asked the group if anyone had news about Roger.
"We haven't seen him Alpha...we think he was wounded, but we had no further information on him."
My Beta was one of the people we needed most at this point. There were so many people I was worried about, but the priority was to take down Marco, so my mate would be safe. When we arrived at the pack house, everything was in chaos, and I found omegas hiding.
"Alpha! Thanks to the moon!" they said, trembling.
"Are you okay? Have you seen Marco or the Crimson Fangs warriors around here?" I asked them.
"They were...but they fled a few minutes ago. They asked us to serve them, and we heard that some of us would be taken as slaves..." a young woman told me, and I held her hand.
"That will not happen, Moonstone will be recovered, go to the dungeons, take care of the wounded and help as many as you can... "I told them, and I watched them run, frightened but relieved.
"Alpha! The house is empty... but we heard something upstairs," Daniel the rogue told me.
This had been the house of my whole life, since my childhood, and now it was a mess. Worse, I remembered the worst moments of my life, when I was locked up with Erica, when I heard the betrayal of my father and Robert, and when I saw my mate crying because she thought I had been unfaithful.
When I crept into my office and saw black robes, I knew who the intruders were. They were digging around in my office.
We attack aggressively, and I fire without a second thought. Men fell backward and I heard screams of pain.
The councilmen were not particularly strong, their power stemmed from the fact that we considered them important figures who would maintain control among the packs.
Not to mention that they were representatives of the king, who rarely appeared, but whom we still feared.
The men fought, but it was obvious that they had comfortable lives and had forgotten how to fight, and in a short time we had them dead or overpowered.
I could see that they wanted to take money, documents or treasures from my office. Stealing from me? Really?
"Leave one alive..." I said.
My warriors leave one, lying on the floor. I remembered him from when I was attacked in the town. He was gray-haired and looked down at me, I stopped near him and put my foot on his chest.
"I see you were thinking of taking some loot from Moonstone... weren't you? You should have run when you had the chance..." I say and he doesn't answer.
"Where's the rest of the council, where's Marco?" the man shakes with fear.
"I don't know! I swear I don't know!" he said, and I shot him in the knee and he screamed.
"If you don't give me the answers I need, I will shoot the other knee and so on with every part of your body," I said angrily.
"Please don't do this, I don't know anything!" I bent down to get a better look at him.
"Well, you seemed to know a lot when you decided to ambush me when you had me surrounded when you talked about destroying humans and taking everything from them. When you were trading slaves... looking for profit, didn't you?" "Marco... it was all his idea! He wants more power, and we didn't know how to stop him!" the man said, and I shot the other knee, he screamed in agony.
"Leave it to me..." said Hunter, eager to taste the enemy's blood.
"You'll have plenty of blood to spare... "I replied, and my wolf roared.
"Of course, you are innocent. I see the ringleaders are not here... you are an insignificant member, aren't you? So I give you one last chance, tell me something useful, anything. And I promise you a quick death, a wolfsbane bullet straight to your heart," I said, pointing my gun at him. The man was shaking, and I saw him swallowing saliva.
"Marco... has been working with rogues... he has trained them, manipulated them... they are extremely violent and only respond to him. There is... a group in hiding, just waiting for his signal" he said, stammering.
"Also... more allies will be coming soon... he's managed to convince several Alphas from other packs... Moonstone is finished. All of us, actually, because he wants to break all the rules, to have two mates... be invincible," he says. It's all worse than we thought.
"You've been helpful...and I hope you go to hell," I'd say, and shoot him right through the heart, as promised.
Suddenly, we heard an explosion in the distance...and I felt something inside me vibrate.
"It's our mate...she's here," Hunter told me, and I felt a stabbing pain all over my body.
