Chapter 26

Autumn

Stretching my legs out then grab the blanket pulling it up around my neck and snuggling down when the scent of rain and pine filled my nose.

Snapping my eyes open I see I'm in a bed but it isn't my own. Sitting straight up I started looking around the room no one is in here but me. The room is extremely large. The decor was grey with white trim it was a nice room. Rubbing my head a bit trying to figure out what happened.

Then it was clear party hospital Mr. Reins office, my dad trying to explain things then Mr. Reins talking to me telling me different things and yep me passing out.

Just then my bladder decided I had was out long enough it needed a break.

I noticed a door to the one side I wonder if that was a bathroom.

I slide to the side of the bed pulling the cover off me and swinging my feet off the side getting down out of the bed. Walking to the door I opened it slowly peeking in but I found it was a closet.

It was full of men's clothes and the smell of rain and pine was super strong here.

Closing the door I looked around replaceing another door I made my way over to it pulling it open.

Jackpot! I say to myself going in I did my business, going to the counter I wash my hands when I'm done I turn to go back out.

"Ahhh!" I squeal.

Standing there was Mr. Reins.

He held his hands up toward me placing my hand on my chest and covering my mouth with the other.

"Sorry," I see his mouth to me.

Taking a breath to steady myself. I wasn't expecting anyone to be there let alone him.

I wanted to ask where my parents were and why I was there. He must have read my face.

"Your parents and Zach went back to your place to get some things, you passed out again so I brought you here to rest," He talked slowly so I could read his lips.

Wait they left? Why would they leave me alone? What things were they getting?

He must have thought I was gonna panic again he started waving his hand in small movements.

"Don't worry they will be back soon, please why don't we sit down for a minute,"

He held his hand towards the chairs that were on the other side of the bed sitting in front of the fireplace.

Nodding my head I started to step forward he sidestep step letting me pass him I walked over and took a seat.

He walked to the end stand picked something up then walked over sitting down in the other chair.

He outstretched his hand toward me looking down I saw it was my implant.

I looked back up at him.

"I wasn't sure if you wanted this, I promise I'll learn to sign,"

Reading his lips I felt a warmth come over me at the thought of him learning to sign. Would he really do that?

I smiled reaching out and taking it from him I placed it in my ear making sure the magnet was in it right place. "Thank you," I tell him.

"You're welcome," His face lit up a little.

He seemed so nervous sitting here with me. But for some odd reason, I wasn't.

Maybe he was worried I'd hit the floor or freaked out again,

I think he wanted to say something but he was unsure. Well, I guess I can break the ice first.

"Um, how long was I out for?"

He seemed shocked at first but he composed himself quickly.

"About two hours,"

"Oh. How did I get here ?" I asked while twirling my fingers and gesturing to the room.

"I had brought you here, it's very quiet and no one will bother you in here, this is my room so no one but Aunt Anna is allowed in here when I'm not here,"

Oh God, he brought m to his bedroom, his personal bedroom.

I was freaking out on the inside. Get it together Autumn for crying out loud.

"Why? I mean um I could have just rested on a couch or stayed in the chair I was sitting in,"

His eyes darken at those words. s**t good one Autumn now you have managed to piss him off great,

He shut his eyes taking a few deep breaths I watched as his chest move up and down. When his eyes snapped back open they weren't dark looking anymore.

"Autumn, Do you remember anything we talked about before you passed out?"

"Um." I stop letting my mind drift back to the conversation It was kinda all foggy.

"Uh, something about me being a wolf too and that people were after me and then."

I stopped again trying to recall.

Wait people were after me!

"People are after me!" I almost yelled feeling some panic kick in I slid to the end of the chair feeling like I should run.q

He held his hands up.

"Autumn, calm down no one can get you I promise you are very safe here."

I heard him but I was looking all over as if I was looking for an escape hatch.

He got up kneeling in front of me taking my face in his hands.

"Please calm down I don't want you to pass out again, trust me when I say you are completely safe here I won't let anyone hurt you,"

I don't know why but his touch brought comfort, I believe what he said by the look in his eyes,

His thumb ran back and forth on my cheeks feeling little tingles erupt all over my face.

"Are you okay feel better now?"

"Yes thank you," I say to him feeling a lot calmer than I was a few minutes ago.

He moved to sit back down in the chair keeping his eyes on me the whole time.

"What else do you remember?" He asked his voice low and calm.

"Mates?" I said out loud.
