Reins

"Mates," My heart filled with warmth when she said the words out loud. "That's right, mates," I say to her

"I don't understand all this," She rubs her fingers across her forehead. "Maybe I can explain some things to you maybe break it down for you,"

Putting her hand back in her lap she begins to fidget with her fingers.

"You can as anything," I tell her.

I was hoping and pleading in my head she says yes I want to just sit here and spend time with her letting her see she can trust me.

"Umm, Okay," She paused for a moment I can see her trying to pick what she wanted to ask me.

"Am I really a werewolf?"

"Yes, You really are one,"

That was all it took for twenty-one questions to start. She asked everything from why her parents hide everything from her to the silver wolf and her being one why her wolf had gone dormant.

She took in everything I said and never did she get upset her heartbeat stayed steady.

"Last one I promise," She holds her hand up laughing just a bit.

"Ask away,"

"Ok." I see her look down at her hands she was fidgeting again I notice she does this when she is nervous.

"What is a mate?" She peeked up through her lashes.

I could see a small blush on her cheeks.

Smiling to myself I loved how cute she looked when she was shy.

"A mate is our other half, one created for us by the moon goddess When we replace our mate our instinct kicks in, and we feel this pull and want to be with our other half our life our world becomes all about our mate," "And we are mates," she says moving her finger at me and then at herself.

"Yes,"

"And how are you so sure we are?"

"Well, there is your scent,"

"My what? Omg, do I stink?" She looked scared for a moment. Looking all over like she wanted to just vanish into thin air.

"No no," I held my hands up to her. "It's not that type of scent it's a scent that draws you to your mate you smell wonderful," I quickly blurted out.

She froze with eyes wide.

"So I don't smell bad?"

I chuckled," No you smell rather great,"

She relaxed back into the chair again getting that calm look at her.

"What do I smell like?"

"Like Daisies,"

"Daisies?" She whispers. She doesn't say anything else but I can see her thinking about something.

I reached out touching her hand I instantly felt the sparks.

She jumped just a bit I knew she felt them too.

"What was that?" She said touching her hand where I just had.

"That's one more thing when we touch our mate we felt these sparks and tingles that erupted when our skin makes contact,"

"Oh," She looked down at my hand and then at hers.

"Here you can try for yourself," I held my hand out toward her she stretch her hand forward I could see a small shake but it wasn't from fear she wasn't afraid of me she was so nervous. It made me think she didn't have much interaction with people. She slides her palm on top of my hand touching it like it was going to break. Her skin felt so smooth and soft that the tingles ran up my arm.

I heard her take a breath in but she didn't pull away. Her hand looked so small compared to mine I rolled my hand over so we were palm to palm I traced my finger against the underside of her wrist.

Her hand fit perfectly in mine.

"Um, this is um I'm not really sure how to explain it,"

She reached out with her other hand she began playing with my hand and fingers.

"Does it always feel like this?"

"Yes, it gets stronger as our bond grows,"

She played with my hand just her touch was driving me nuts I could hear my wolf purr in my head.

"Autumn," I call her name.

"Yes," She looks at me but kept playing with my hand.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, of course, I've asked you so much already,"

She stilled her hands but didn't let go of mine.

"Do you like me?"

Bold I know but I needed to know her feelings I know she feels something just by how nervous she is around me and her heart beats faster when I'm close plus I know the night of her party she picked up my scent just by how she kept looking around and the way she felt while we were dancing.

She started the let go of my hand but I grabbed hers.

"Please don't let go,"

She blushed just a little but I saw a small smile. She looked down at our hands I could tell she was trying to put the words together.

"I'm not sure how to explain what I feel, Truthfully I've never had anyone interested in me or even been on a date, but I do feel a pull to you I'm not afraid of you or feel you would hurt me, With everything that has been just dumped on me I'm not sure what to think, but I would like to get to know you better and try to understand this mate thing with you,"

I couldn't help but get the biggest smile across my face my chest warmed with her words.

"I would love to get to know you more as well, and I would be happy to help you with all of this that you just found out, we can help you learn everything you need to know about being a mate,"

I rubbed my thumb over the top of her hand she smiled at me.

"That sounds like a deal, Mr.Reins,"

"Oh no, it's just Reins to you,"

"Reins," She says so softly.

God my name sounded so good coming from her.

Just then I hear my betas voice coming through the link.

"Alpha, Luna's parents are back but there was a problem,"

"What happen?"

"They have been attacked the brother is hurt I had him taken to the clinic her parents are fine just a few scrapes."

"s**t okay, I'm with her now meet me in my office."

"Yes Alpha,"

"Oscar," I call through the link.

"Yes Alpha,"

"Come to my office I need you to watch Autumn her parents and brother were attacked I don't want her to know anything just yet," "Yes Alpha,"

"Reins," I hear her sweet voice.

I looked at her she seem confused.

"Sorry someone linked me,"

"Linked?"

"Yes we can mind linking each other, I will explain it when we have more time there's a issue that needs my attention,"

"Oh okay, I understand you have work I can go replace Kelly or Oscar,"

"I have already called Oscar he will meet us at my office you can go with him,"

I stand up pulling her up with me she is standing in front of me. I had to look down she was short compared to me. I felt the need to kiss her right there but I was afraid I scare her.

So I settled for a smaller gesture I lifted her hand that was in mine placing a soft kiss on it.
