Reins

"Why so shocked? Did you not think we would replace the two of you?"

They didn't say anything, they just stood there. Gem growled again as she took another step forward.

"Alpha Reins," he sputtered out. They were quickly trying to get their clothes on.

I noticed Rachel looking around. Gem picked up on it as well. She let out a low growl.

"I suggest you don't try it. We didn't come alone and you wouldn't get very far if you ran. I will keep it simple: you two will be taken back to packed land, and both of you will stand trial this time. The head council leader has been informed of your doings and he is currently on his way,"

"You have no authority over me, so giving me orders will do nothing but land you and your pack in trouble with the elders."

Gem snapped her jaws at his words.

"And you, you are a freak of nature and should be locked up. No one should ever be allowed the power and gifts you have, not even us council members."

"Are you out of your mind? Listen to yourself. You break the rules when you break a criminal out of the cells, then you run off. Together, how is it you think we are in the wrong?"

I stand placing my hands on my hips just looking at this i***t who clearly thinks he's in the right. Gem hadn't taken her eyes off of Rachel, who had been rather quiet standing there. I don't think she thought we found her so fast this time.

"And you, You gave me an oath that you would come clean about everything you go pulled this after I agreed to help you I will not help you as far as I'm concerned, you are hereby declared a rogue and are no longer a member of the Midnight Moon Pack. She screamed out, falling to her knees, grabbing her head in her hands, and shaking her head a few times. I know it's painful when you get declared a rogue as the link to the pack is broken. After a few minutes of screams. She stopped and she sat there breathing hard.

When she lifted her head up her eyes had changed to red, a tall tale sign she was a rogue,

"How could you!" she yelled at me, standing up. I could see the hair forming on her arms. She was going to shift out of anger.

Taking a step forward, she clenched her fist.

"You gave me no choice, Rachel. You went against your pack, against your Alpha and Luna. This is the punishment given to you by the law, something I should have done first instead of calling the council,"

"You think you are so righteous but you are nothing but a coward. You choose to have a little girl as your mate chooses one who is broken. I would have made a better Luna than her. I was born into the pack and yet you overlooked me. I'm glad I did what I did. I take none of it back. If I had to do it all over again I would!"

With those words, she spun and took off.

"MOVE!" I called out loudly to everyone. They all appeared to block her way. She jumped at Nick, shifting midair. He wasn't ready to catch a full-sized werewolf. Knocking him down, she bit his shoulder on the way down, rolling him over. Letting go, she took off. I felt a gush of air. I noticed it was Gem, "Keaton restraint him!"

Keaton grabbed the arm of the council member holding him in his spot. I took off after Gem and Rachel. I shifted as I ran my clothes shredding. I had lost sight of them coming to a stop. I listened for a moment when I heard snarling off to the right darting in that direction. I could hear the sounds getting louder as I got closer. When I jumped from the bush, skidding to a stop, I was frozen at the scene in front of me. There stood my mate holding Rachel's dead wolf in her jaws.

Gem let her go, dropping her to the ground. She laid down, scooting backward from the body while whimpering,

I quickly shifted. I walked towards her holding my hands up showing her it was okay,

"Love Look at me, it's okay."

She kept moving back. I stepped over the dead body that had changed back to the human body and there laid Rachel's lifeless body which only caused Gem to whimper even more. "No, no sweetheart, it's OK, please let me help you,"

I had stopped in front of her, kneeling down. I was at eye level with her.

"Love, I need you to shift back. Please, I want to make sure you're alright,"

When nothing happened, I decided to reach out to Gem,

"Gem, I need your help, Autumn is too traumatized to shift back or even think straight. I need you to force her to shift."

I didn't hear anything and I knew Gem could speak with me.

"Gem please, Help me Help Autumn,"

After a few seconds, I saw her slowly begin to change back to her human form. I know what Gem was doing. She was protecting her but right now I need her to shift.

There she lay on the ground, her belly down, her arms over her head. I could see some blood on her arms and her back,

"Autumn," I called her name softly as I slid to sit next to her, reaching out. I touched her shoulder.

"Talk to me please."

I heard her sob out a small cry as her body shook a bit,

Not being able to take it anymore, I scooped her up, placing her in my lap. She threw her arms around my neck, hiding her face in my chest. I just sat there holding her, rocking her gently as I rubbed her back, "Shh, Its okay its over,"

"I killed someone, I killed her. I don't even know what came over me,"

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"When she bolted and knocked Nick down, I took off not to hurt her, but so she wouldn't get away again, I just wanted to stop her, not kill her."

Her cries became harder as her hold on me tightened,

"Then what happened?"

"When I caught up with her, all I did was knock her down. I told her to stay there. I didn't want to fight, but she got up and challenged us. It all happened so fast i don't remember everything, but biting her throat and hearing the sound of her neck snapping." "Love, it sounds like she didn't give you a chance to defend yourself. You took a stand and did not let her hurt you again and I'm proud of you,"

"But I killed someone, Reins."

"I know, but it was to save yourself. It doesn't make you a bad person. Why don't we go back to the others and go home?"

"What about her body? We can't leave it here."

"No ill have someone come clean up and take her body back to pack lands,"

Feeling her nod against my chest, I stood up, keeping her in my arms holding her bridle style. She kept her hold on me like I was gonna disappear.

" Keaton, about three hundred yards from there is a body. It's Rachel I need you to have it brought back to the pack land."

"Yes Alpha, how's Autumn doing?"

"She is alright, a little shaken up. I'm taking her back to the pack house, but we have to go alone as she has no clothes and in her state right now, it wouldn't be wise to crowd her."

"Yes, Alpha, I will let Zach know he is looking for you two,"

"OK, I'll see you all at the pack house and lock that i***t up and put five guards on him if need be put him in chains,"

"Yes, Alpha,"
