Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman
Chapter 296 The Open Door Confrontation

Jean finished speaking and gave her father a deep, scrutinizing look.

Henry was a little shocked at her words. His expression was complicated and it seemed like he was trying to say something to her.

However, he had just woken up from a coma and was still quite weak. Right now, speaking would have taken more effort than he could muster. So, he merely nodded with a stiff expression.

Seeing him reply in affirmative, Jean smiled at once.

She didn't want to waste any more time on her cruel father. Then she turned around and walked towards the door without looking back.

Henry was somewhat shameless, but he was still smart.

Jean knew that he had taken her words into his mind today.

To be honest, it didn't matter to her whether he kept her words in mind or not. She had just wanted to pull him out of the coma with these words.

She knew that the Wen Group was as important as Henry Wen's life, so she had deliberately mentioned it to him, as a last resort to wake him up.

And as it turned out, she was right. Henry actually woke up soon after he heard her.

With him finally awake, her task was now over. What he would do next was none of her business.

And anyway, if Jean's stepmother Joy and her sister Shirley had any ulterior motives which Henry knew about, their lives would not be easy from now on.

But as soon as Jean left the ward, she saw Joy and Shirley coming back hand in hand, talking and laughing. They looked so happy as if they had already forgotten that Henry was still in a deep coma and this close to dying.

Seeing her come out of the ward, their faces clouded over at once.

"Jean, why are you here?" Shirley asked, while studying her warily.

"Didn't you and your mother say that you couldn't afford dad's medical bills so he would be driven out of the hospital soon? I was afraid I won't be able to see him again so I came as soon as I could." Jean's face showed a calm expression, but her tone was ironic. "Didn't you say that anything related to Wen family was none of your concern?" Joy looked at her suspiciously. "Are you here to laugh at us now? Jean, you'd better stop pretending. I know your intentions are nothing shy of evil."

'Congratulations on your guess! I came to talk to Henry just to stop you two from ignoring his life and thinking about nothing but how to take the Wen Group away.

It's high time he saw your true selves!'

Jean sneered and retorted, "Even if I have any malice, it's nothing compared to you two. I heard you don't want Henry to continue receiving medical treatment? Right? He is still alive! Are you still hoping he would die early? Is it so you can pocket the property of the Wen family when he dies, that you are in a hurry to stop his medical treatment? How horrible!"

Jean deliberately spoke loudly so Henry could hear her.

To be honest, she didn't expect to meet Joy and Shirley as soon as she left the ward.

At the sight of them, she knew they would entangle her. And therefore, she deliberately did not close the door completely, which allowed Henry to hear all their conversations.

At this time, Joy and Shirley had all their attentions on Jean and naturally did not see the door.

When they heard Jean say these words so loudly in the corridor, their faces suddenly turned gloomy.

"Jean, I don't care who told you this. But now that you have broken off all relations with us, you have no right to interfere with it, let alone accuse us!" Joy said with a black face.

"Even if you don't admit it, I know you were planning this. If not, why didn't you deny me directly and let me interfere? You obviously have a guilty conscience! Joy, ever since you married Henry, you have enjoyed the splendors and wealth that women seek. When did Henry not meet your needs?

He even divorced my mother for you without the least hesitation. Even I can see how much he clearly loves you. But what about you? The doctor has not said he cannot wake up again yet. But are you going to ignore his life? Joy, you are too vicious!"

Jean accused excitedly. At first she was just acting in front of Henry who was in the ward. Her purpose was to provoke Joy to speak out what she really thought. But the more she spoke, the angrier she became. To think that Henry divorced her mother only for the sake of this woman. He deserved it now! And she really felt wronged for her mother.

"I see. You're here to replace fault!" Joy sneered and looked at her coldly. "I have made it clear to you before, because we don't have the money to pay for medical treatment, and the hospital won't let your father stay any longer. I asked you for money, but you didn't give it to me. So what do you want me to do? Rob a bank? Jean, now that you have the ability to meddle, that's great! You can pay for Henry's future medical expenses, if you really care about him!"

With her eyes widened, Jean stared at Joy in disbelief. She was wondering how Joy could speak like this after she had done so many things to hurt her?

Compared to all the people she had ever met, Joy was the most shameless of them all!

Seeing her even insulted Jean's own eyes!

Jean shivered with anger but still said with a cold voice, "Joy, don't go too far. What's the difference between you doing this and murder? If you continue to make mistakes, I would really have to step in."

"Well, what can you do about it? Jean, don't you see how powerless you are? You can't even handle your own troubles. How can you interfere in our family affairs? If you still have a little conscience and don't want Henry to die like this, just pull your money out!" Joy remained unmoved and said proudly.

"Who told you I can't interfere? My father is sick in bed now, and so the Wen Group badly needs an acting CEO. As Henry's eldest daughter and Zed's wife, you know how influential I am. So if I come out, who do you think the shareholders of the Wen Group will support, you or me?"

Jean retorted with a sneer.

"You... Jean, what did you just say?" At this point, Shirley, who had been watching the bustle, suddenly looked gloomy and pointed at Jean with her trembling hand. "You'd better not mess with me, or I'll never let you off!" Jean warned with a sneer.

"What exactly do you mean? You want to come back to the Wen Group? No wonder you said you were going to resign. You have been planning this for a long time, haven't you?" Joy also understood what Jean meant now. Staring at her fiercely, she said, "Jean, stop daydreaming. You want to come back to the Wen Group? No way!"

"Well, let's wait and see!" Jean didn't want to waste any more time on them. She said this and went back to her own ward.

Even if Henry had been deceived by both of them for so long and it was difficult for him to see their true nature, he should have become a little sober after listening to these words.

If she wanted to save Henry and the Wen family, Jean really would have to go back to the Wen Group.

Although Henry had woken up, he temporarily had difficulty getting about and could not continue to run the Wen Group. It was hard to guarantee that Joy and Shirley wouldn't take advantage of this opportunity to seize power. After all, they could do anything for their own benefit.

Jean could not help sighing. Her own life was already a mess right now, but she still went to solicit such trouble for herself. She really didn't know what she was thinking about. But in any case, Henry was her father, and her mother was one of the founders of the Wen Group. She could just take it as a payback to Henry's upbringing of her. From then on, they did not owe each other anymore.

On seeing Jean go away, Joy and Shirley looked terrible.

"Mom, what should I do? If Jean comes back to the Wen Group, will those shareholders still support me as CEO?" Shirley asked with a worried face.

Joy's eyebrows wrinkled tightly and looked in the direction Jean was leaving. She said in bewilderment, "That's queer indeed! Why is this disgusting girl suddenly so interested in the Wen Group? Has she really heard something about our plan? Otherwise, she never messed with us before, did she? What's going on now?"

"Mom, no matter what Jean thinks, what about my business? You have to help me figure out a way first! As soon as I saw her complacent look, I panicked. What if she really went ahead and competed for the position of CEO with me?" Shirley pouted her mouth and said angrily.

"It's no use worrying now. Didn't you tell me before that someone in Ron's family would help you out? Don't worry! As long as he supports you, there will be no big problem."

Joy was going to push the door open as she spoke. Only then did she realize that the door was unclosed. Suddenly, a bad feeling rose in her heart. 000
