Azian Prince of Dragons -
Chapter 24 — Across the Barrier
Tar's POV
"Just as eager as I am to invade the lesser beings across the border," Elzar began with a hint if delight dancing in his eyes.
We all had been waiting for this time. The day we could finally see what lay beyond the borders of the forest. The day we bathe in our foes blood and take our revenge on behalf of our family, our forefathers and our Race. Flame grunted in delight. And my lip twitched upwards slightly for a brief moment.
Only a brief moment.
Nothing ever made me smile.
Unless my Son and Abigail on one or two occasions.
It didn't matter now though.
"I still do not think it is wise for us to battle in your current conditions your majesty, you know I am more than willing to participate in this war, we elves and fairies will be there, however you all must heal first,"
King Saga grunted roughly, "when I get my hands on the son of a bitch who xinked me he will wish death came sooner," his fists hardening.
As much as I didn't fear anyone or anything I pitied the man at the receiving end of those fists.
"You are right Elzar," I began glancing at him, "obviously due to our current condition it will take time before we can begin the war, however during this time you and your elven brothers can replace a way to pull down the barrier by combining your magic." I didn't ask. I stated.
Elzar nodded, " of course General, my great grandfather was one of the elves that put this barrier up to begin with, it will take a lot of power to pull it down and a barrier this strong will take a 14-day ritual before we can begin," "Then we mustn't waste any more time, we do not know what my Son and Edwin are going through in the hands of that watcher," Queen Rebecca replied her postures straight and her eyes fixed on Elzar.
She looked like a warrior instead of a Queen at that moment.
Don't get me wrong, Queen Rebecca was one of the best female fighters in the kingdom. As Royalty it was mandatory for them to begin training at a young age.
Azian would have begun when he turned eight or when his dragon manifested but unfortunately he hadn't.
But my boy Edwin began his training as soon as he began to understand words.
I taught and showed him different weapons and filled him with as much knowledge as I knew he could handle at that age.
Edwin was a Liche dragon, a powerful dragon in its own way, but very weak.
Yes, he had the power to wake the dead, but his dragon body wasn't very tough, he couldn't spit fire like us. His power only lied in death.
That is why I taught him all I could. I just hope wherever he is, he isn't hurt. He was too young to protect himself not to think of another little being.
However, I always taught my son of his guardian duties came first before anything else.
I knew he was okay. If there was one to survive he would.
If Abigail did anything to him, I would never lay my hand on a woman but this one would be an exception.
Can't believe I let her in!
I grunted lowly feeling like an idiot. I was the general, my duty was to make sure things like this never happened, but it did.
Why would she do this?
I always thought I was the perfect judge of character. That I could see through anyone and anything, she had looked so harmless and sweet.
I should have known.
Those are the most dangerous.
How could I feel so betrayed by a woman I had only known for two weeks? She must have cast a spell on me! Damn witches!
I shall watch her burn!!

I gritted my teeth in annoyance as that 'topic' shuffled through my head.
"Your majesty!" A soldier said walking into the tent.
He knelt down before the king his head bowed facing the ground.
King Saga faced him with a scowl on his face. This is the second time we were being interrupted.
"Speak soldier!" Queen Rebecca yelled back in equal frustration. The soldier looked up at her.
"Do not look at the Queen!" A Hydra blurted out, sounded like Louis. Oh, what am I saying? They all look and sound the same.
The soldier winced at the spite and authority in the hydras voice and quickly looked back to the ground.
"My humble apologies my Queen, forgive me your majesty, accept my apologies my lords" he replied I nodded; he was a bright soldier. He was smart as well to ask forgiveness from all of us. Already he had found favor in our eyes by that simple actions.
"What is your name soldier?" I bellowed my deep voice shaking the tent.
He flinched only slightly but was quick to cover it up.
Mm...smart lad.
"My name is Yohan, my Lord, only son of Richard and Acana," he replied with his head still bowed.
Ah, he was the son of Richard, one of the best Cobalt dragons who could do magic, And daughter if Acana? The descendent of Ness?
"And your dragon?" I asked.
"Crest, my lord, I am a loch dragon," he finished.
Ah, interesting, I had heard of his birth 21 years ago. He was one of the rare dragons.
He was a subspecies of fire dragon but also had the ability to breath beneath the waters like his forefathers.
Or mother.
Legend has it a fire dragon fell for one of the water creatures creating this unique lean age of Loch dragons.
The most famous being the female loch dragon named Ness. A famous warrior in her time. Legend says she lived in the human world after her retirement. She should be long dead by now though.
I nodded, "what news do you bring our king?"
"We were rounding up the troops when we came across a man in the forest close to Gard," He began.
"And so, what?" Hydra Gavin asked clearly irritated.
The problem with the Hydras was that they did not have a lot of patience.
"He wants an audience with the king," Yohan explained.
"So now every bozo who wants an audience with a king should be granted?" Another hydra replied Yohan sighed," He claims to be from across the barrier," Now all of us had his full undivided attention.
"What?!" The king bellowed.
"Your majesty he claimed to know where his royal highness prince Azian and his guardian as well as a certain Abigail were,"
My fists clenched of their own accord.
