As soon as my phone rang, the sound from outside disappeared.

Now that things had gotten to this point, it was impossible for me to pretend the cubicle was empty.

Derek was the one who called me.

I had no idea why he was calling me. Maybe it was just a coincidence. Fate had forced me to face them in such a highly embarrassing situation.

Calmly, I opened the cubicle door and stepped out. At the same time, I answered their call.

“Where are you right now?” asked Derek from the other end of the line.

“I’m at Virtue Hospital,” I replied, and promptly hung up.

Vivien, for her part, turned red with embarrassment. As thick as she was, she would be ashamed after being caught in the act of committing adultery.

Besides, it was me, Shane’s legal wife, who caught her.

Annoyed, Vivien jumped out of the sink and slowly pulled up her pants.

“Now that you’ve seen the truth, Eveline, I guess there’s no need to inform you. Shane and I are together and I’m pregnant. You’d better leave as soon as possible.”

I glared at him and said, “Do you have rough sex with a pregnant woman? Does your shamelessness know no bounds?”

Vivien scoffed at me, clutching Shane’s arm as he shot me an arrogant look.

“You enjoy doing it with me, what’s wrong with that, are you jealous, it’s because of your incompetence in bed that you lost your man to me! You shouldn’t blame anyone but yourself.”

I had seen shameless people in the time I had lived on this earth, but I had never seen people who were proud to do something so shameful.

Angrily, I forced a smile. “Vivien, you’re right. I’m not as proficient as you at sex. I mean, just look at you-you can even moan wildly while standing in front of all this shit!”

As if she had been greatly insulted, Vivien raised her hand, intending to slap me. However, Shane grabbed her hand before she could do so. “Come to my office,” he said.

Because of everything that had happened yesterday, I was too afraid to meet him face to face. After all, this man was not human. He was now a beast in my eyes. But at this moment, I was no longer afraid. Perhaps it was because I had been emboldened by the fact that I no longer had anything to lose.

There were many people waiting in front of his office. After Shane opened the door, I stared at his back and said, “Shane, if you have something to say to me, say it. I have nothing to hide from you.” I deliberately humiliated him by raising my voice.

Shane frowned, turning his back on me. He then pulled me into the room, closing the door behind us.

Then he sat down behind the desk. The embarrassment on his face hadn’t quite dissipated. After drinking half a glass of water, he finally gave me a look and showed his hypocrisy. “It’s not appropriate for you to be out in your current state.”

In response to his fake concern, I let out a sarcastic laugh, but in my heart I couldn’t help but feel sad. “Did I mishear you, Shane, are you trying to express your concern for me? I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to worry about your legal wife. You’re about to throw me out, aren’t you, what will your dear wife think?”

I had never been so rude to anyone since I was a kid.

Shane scowled at me and folded his hands together on the desk.

“Calm down, Eveline. Since things have already come to this, I have nothing left to say. Let’s get a divorce.”

Judging by the way they stood together, I guessed they had been together for a long time. Shane was pretty good at hiding their relationship. The only reason he was suddenly showing his true colors was because he was eager to marry the pregnant Vivien.

But he had no desire to help her fulfill her wish.

“And if I say no, what would you do? I admit I was blind when I fell in love with you. I will not divorce you. If you really want to marry her, then by all means do so. If you want to commit bigamy, then I won’t stop you. I will even enjoy seeing you go to jail.”

In the end, I could no longer suppress my emotions, so I had to raise my voice.

Irritated, Shane tugged at his collar.

“You must be very agitated right now. Let’s talk when you’ve calmed down.”

“I have already made up my mind. There will be no room for negotiations, Eveline. We are going to keep the baby in Vivien’s womb.”

Shane bit his lower lip. “Our marriage was a mistake in the first place. Eveline, go home and gather your belongings when you have time. We should settle this divorce peacefully.”

“Peacefully, you say? That’s pretty good coming from you.” I broke into a miserable guffaw.

“You forcibly aborted my child, you hurt me badly, and yet you say you want a peaceful divorce? Fuck you. Let me tell you something, Shane. Since I can clearly see you’re in a hurry to get rid of me so you can welcome your new “partner”, I’m not going to let you have your happy ending. Just you wait and see, you devil.”
