Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 345
Chapter 345:.
Naturally, I still hadn’t gotten used to Alvaro’s kitchen. After checking all the basic equipment and condiments available in his pantry, I washed my hands and got to cooking.
When dinner was ready, he was still lying on the couch like a gentleman.
“Feed me,” he said.
I rolled my eyes.
“Your leg is hurt, not your hands. Why can’t you eat on your own?” I growled.
Alvaro was taken by surprise by my sudden indignation. Then, he put on a mischievous grin. “I never thought you were so feisty!”.
After leaving a plate and fork on the table, I said, “Are you going to eat or not?”.
“I’m going to eat. But I want to eat with you,” Alvaro said as he sat up before picking up the fork and inhaling the aroma of the food.
“Oh my gosh, it smells so good!” he said with an exaggerated look on his face.
“Thanks for your compliment, but aren’t you exaggerating, what’s so good about it?”
She cleared her throat, made a face of circumstance and said, “It smells like home.”
Suddenly, I remembered the first time I had cooked at Derek’s. He had said almost the exact same words.
“Watching a woman cook in the kitchen makes me feel like I have a home,” Derek had said.
“Why are you standing there? Just eat.” Alvaro’s voice brought me back to reality.
When I looked down, I realized he had put some food on my plate. After dinner, he turned to lie down on the couch.
As I was washing the dishes, he said, “Ebony is in the yard, could you give her something to eat?”.
I guessed Ebony might be one of his friends. Once I was done with the dishes, I wiped my hands. I put some food in a clean bowl, then went to the backyard with her.
As soon as I opened the back door, a black figure pounced on me.

“Ow!” I screamed and accidentally dropped the bowl I was holding, causing it to shatter on the ground.
As I fell backwards, I felt a hand wrap around my waist and caught me in time.
“Ebony, get away! You’re scaring her. Don’t make me hit you.” Alvaro gently kicked the animal away.
I was still in shock. It turned out that the black figure rushing towards me was a black dog. It was very large. Maybe it was some kind of wolf-dog hybrid. And the way it was getting in my face was not friendly at all.
“Is that dog Ebony? What is this, some kind of joke?” I shouted.
At that moment, my blood was boiling.
Alvaro patted me on the back in an attempt to comfort me.
“Hey, hey… There’s nothing to be scared of.” Then he looked me in the eye and added, “I never said I was human!”.
Actually, he was right. Wait a second… I looked down, fixing my gaze on his feet before looking back up into his eyes.
“What the hell, Alvaro? You lied to me. Your leg is completely healed, why do you have to be so childish?”
He acted as if he was embarrassed.
“I really wanted to see you,” he said.
I shook off his hand, turned around and prepared to leave. However, he hugged me from behind.
“Don’t move!”
I tried to let go, but he hugged me even tighter. His voice echoed in my ears.
“All I want is a hug, Eveline. But if you keep squirming in my arms like that, I’ll want to have you right here, right now.” She always threatened me so blatantly.
I was so angry I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs.
“Alvaro, you know I’m married, don’t you, what pleasure do you get out of flirting with a married woman?”.
He scoffed, loosened his grip on me and turned me around so he could look me in the eye.
“I don’t care if you’re married or not. What matters to me is that I have feelings for you that I can’t let go of.”
I should have been as surprised by her declaration of love as any other woman would be, but I was not. Personally, I didn’t think she really had feelings for me. I thought she had simply said those words to get into my pants.
Calmly, I gave him a glance and then instantly averted my gaze.
Not a minute later, I tried to leave again. But the next moment, Alvaro picked me up and carried me in his arms.
I cried out, giving him a look.
I saw a smile on his face that made me think he was up to no good.
I kept struggling and flailing, but I couldn’t free myself from his grasp.
