Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 346
Chapter 346:
Alvaro carried me and returned to the living room. Then he placed me on the couch, but didn’t let go.
He caged me in with both arms at my sides. Despite my nervousness, I dared not break free from his embrace. I couldn’t dare provoke him.
It wasn’t the first time I had met him, so I knew him well. He was not someone to provoke. Any form of challenge against him would be unfavorable to me. I dared not look him in the eye to hide my nervousness.
Suddenly, I heard a laugh above my head.
“Why is your face so red?” he asked knowingly.
I looked at him speechless. His smile brightened as he gave me a head-to-toe look. “Are you hot now? Take off your coat if you’re hot.”
At these words, I unconsciously covered my chest with my hands.
He looked amused and smiled in mockery. Alvaro finally straightened up and said, “Well, it’s a harmless suggestion. The air conditioning is on. Make yourself comfortable. You don’t want to sweat, do you?”.
Then he headed for the back door. The moment she was out of sight, I decided to make a move. But I saw Ebony running toward me as soon as I got up. I sat up quickly out of fear.”
Ebony had left a psychological scar on me. I was very afraid of the dog. Alvaro was soon back in the living room.
He grabbed the pet lightly from behind and stepped forward. “Sit.”
Ebony obeyed this command by immediately sitting on her haunch. Alvaro sat down on the couch and stroked the dog’s head. As if on a cloud, Ebony closed her eyes and rubbed her head against Alvaro’s palm. She even licked his palm from time to time.
“You, you just scared my guest. Apologize to her,” Alvaro ordered.
My eyebrows furrowed in surprise. His order seemed so stupid to me. Ebony was just a dog.
The dog let its tongue out and gave a look around feigning.
“Do you hear me? Apologize,” Alvaro reiterated as he gently stroked the dog’s head.

Ebony seemed at that moment to understand her master’s words. She lowered her head and slowly crouched down, whimpering.
“Ebony begs your pardon, see?” Alvaro turned to look at me and noted that I was looking at the dog with raised eyebrows.
Indeed, Ebony didn’t look as fierce as before. Obeying the command, he lay on his stomach. Her eyes glittered and emitted the common puppy dog look.
The dog seemed to be waiting for punishment or my generous forgiveness.
Shaking my head, I said mockingly, “I’m not like you. I don’t understand your language. How am I supposed to know what you’re trying to say?” Alvaro caught the sarcasm in my tone.
With slight frustration, he stood up with both hands on his hips and bit his lower lip silently. His behavior really tickled me. Although I tried to stifle a chuckle, I was met with a split-second guffaw.
Alvaro was surprised by my laughter. After looking at me amusedly for a while, he also burst out laughing.
The awkwardness in the atmosphere calmed down a bit. I grabbed my bag and said, “I have to go now.”
Before I could sit up, he put his hands on my shoulders and forced me to sit back down on the couch.
“Tsk, tsk. Not so fast, why are you in such a hurry to go? Let me take you home. Wait a minute. I’m going to change.” He turned and walked away, but then stopped and looked at me again.
“Don’t move an inch from there. If you leave before I get back, I’ll send the video to Derek.” Oh, my God. This again.
Indignation washed over me as I stared at his back. I was even more annoyed that he was cheerfully humming a tune as he walked up the stairs.
Receiving threats and obeying his every whim was the last thing I wanted to do, but I had no choice. His tactic worked on me. I could only sit on the couch and wait angrily.
I impatiently checked my wristwatch as five minutes passed, then ten, and finally fifteen.
What was the reason for this delay? How long did a man need to change? Did he have to put on makeup?
My patience was wearing thin. I got up and went upstairs. The house was magnificent, so there were several rooms. The pair of slippers Alvaro had just put on was on one of the doors.
Consequently, I concluded that he had entered that room. I approached the door thoughtfully and knocked.
“Hello, are you finished?” there was no response from the room.
My mind suddenly imagined a scene of death on the other side of the door. My first instinct was to leave immediately.
However, my commitment as a training nurse prevented me from leaving.
I hesitated for a few seconds and finally worked up the courage to reach for the doorknob.
