Chapter 366:

Aaron came to the second floor when we arrived from the rooftop. He seemed to have something to say to Derek. I patted Derek on the back and squirmed slightly, so he would take the hint and put me down.

However, he hugged me a little tighter and completely ignored Aaron. Without a word, he carried me into the bedroom and closed the door with one hand. He then placed me on the bed and hurriedly removed my clothes to continue what had been held back a while ago.

Derek’s touch made me wet and sent me into spasms of arousal. I wanted to moan loudly in pleasure, but couldn’t as Aaron and James were nearby. I bit my lower lip to keep a moan from escaping me.

As we made passionate love, our heavy breathing filled the room.

Something popped in the distance, stifling our low moans.

Through the window, I watched the beautiful fireworks in the sky from time to time.

It was a sight to behold.

When I returned to Sousen I headed straight to Louise’s house. However, I was met at the door by a stranger.

When I called her, she informed me that the house had been sold and that she was now living at Layne’s with her father.

Layne was not home when I arrived at her house.

Life was cruel and unpredictable. No one knew if things would get good or bad tomorrow. Everything could change in the blink of an eye.

“Many creditors came to bother my father while he was in the hospital. They made a big fuss, so I had to sell my house and car on the cheap. I pooled the money with my father’s bank deposit and Layne’s money to pay them off. However, it only covered a small part of the debt.”

A somber light shone in Louise’s eyes as she talked about her situation.

“I recently learned that Linda and my father’s assistant have left the country. Now we can’t locate them. Damn it.”

Louise gritted her teeth and stuck the kitchen knife into the cutting board angrily.

My fear immediately increased. To keep her from hurting herself, I pushed her away and took over chopping the vegetables.

“Let me do it.”

Louise’s angry expression suddenly changed to concern as she stood next to me.

“Eve, I don’t know why, but I have a strong feeling that Layne is up to something. He’s been very mysterious lately.”

“Huh? Why do you say that?”

Louise explained, “I’ve heard him talk on the phone countless times. He always speaks in a coded language. I can’t understand any of his words. He seems to be hiding something.”

I stopped chopping the vegetables and looked at her immediately when she said this.

“Actually, I’m also curious about how he’s going to help your father. Isn’t it about time? Where has he traveled to? Has he told you what the business trip is about?” Louise shook her head.

“He didn’t tell me anything. He just told me not to worry. Before he left, he assured me he would take care of it and come home to celebrate the New Year with me.”

I put down the knife and tried to ease her concern.

“I don’t think there’s any cause for alarm. Since he said he would be back soon, you should be calm. I think he’ll be back before New Year’s Day.”

Louise nodded, but her eyebrows remained furrowed.
