Chapter 386:.

Derek wasn’t downstairs when I went to check. I opened the front door and saw his car wasn’t in the yard.

Where did he go, when did he leave? I didn’t hear the sound of his car.

Since I was already awake, I decided to stay in the living room. I sat on the couch. I turned on the television. Although I didn’t feel like watching it, the sound filled the living room and made the villa less quiet. The sound of a car came from outside just as dawn was breaking.

It was back. Derek was stunned to see me sitting on the couch as he walked into the living room.

“Honey, why are you up so early?”

“When did you leave, where have you been?” I asked seriously, brushing aside his question.

She sat down on the couch, leaned back and closed her eyes. He had little wrinkles on his forehead. He looked very tired.

“I had something urgent to attend to. You were sound asleep, so I decided not to disturb you.” He didn’t tell me what the urgent matter was, but I decided not to question him further.

I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. When I was almost finished, I heard loud knocking on the front door.

The person banging on the door was probably so angry that he used his fist instead of ringing the doorbell. Derek had fallen asleep on the couch. The noise rudely woke him.

“Don’t worry. I’ll get the door,” I said before he could get up.

Lean almost pushed me away when I opened the door. He rushed into the living room like an angry bull.

“What’s he doing here, shouldn’t he be in the hospital?” I muttered and hurried after him without closing the door.

A hard punch landed on Derek’s face, who immediately got up.

“Derek, fuck you!” my mouth dropped open and I froze. I didn’t know what to do now.

“Stop it! Stop it! Don’t be so violent. Remember that your wound hasn’t healed yet,” Belinda shouted as she rushed over in her heels.

Lean threw caution to the wind. He was about to throw another punch at Derek, but Belinda stopped him. Lean gritted his teeth in rage and pain. He clutched his shoulder with one hand and glared at Derek. He looked like he wanted to pounce on him and tear him into a thousand pieces.

His violence was more detrimental to his health than to Derek. He was not fully recovered, but he could not restrain himself. Derek did not fight back. He merely looked at him with indifference.

“How dare you break into my house so early, have you gone mad?”

“Yes, at one o’clock in the morning I’ve gone mad. And today I’m going to beat you to a pulp.” Lean’s anger shot through the roof. He still didn’t know why he was so angry.

This violent behavior was the last thing I expected from Lean. He had begun to see him in a different light since the night he showed up at Kevin’s house.

And later, he had put his life on the line to save Lily, so I felt he was a good guy. Since he was so impulsive today, whatever was making him angry was definitely a big problem.

“Lean, stop it already! Your wound hasn’t healed, why are you fighting with him in this state? If your health gets worse, it won’t affect him. I’ll be the one to commiserate and take care of you. Do you want me to stress myself more than I already am?” Belinda tried to pull him, but he pushed her away.

Lean stepped forward and pointed his index finger at Derek.

“Derek, let’s get everything out on the table. Did you blow up the grave Alvaro built next to the Glimmer Village? Tell me.” In a fit of rapture, he kicked the small table.

The glass on it fell to the floor and shattered into pieces.

I looked at Derek with my mouth hanging open.

“No, I didn’t do it,” he said, his face as calm as ever.

This response made Lean angrier. He threw another punch, but Derek was quick enough to catch it.

“That’s absolute idiocy! How can you lie through your teeth when you’re guilty? You think we’re all idiots?” Lean jerked his hand away and cursed.

“The surveillance video from the camera located at the entrance of the Flash Villa showed your car last night. How come you showed up there and the tomb exploded on the same night? Are you still going to deny this? For once in your miserable life, can you admit what you did? You fucking coward.” Lean sounded so sure of his accusation. He even backed it up with evidence.

Squinting at Derek, I thought about his absence in the wee hours of the morning. Not only was I refraining from anything to do with Alvaro, but I also didn’t care if things didn’t go well for him. But I knew he had a tangible reason to get that plot of land and build a tomb there.

He had taken pains to build it because for him a tomb was more important than an ordinary building. If he discovered that someone had blown it up, he would be furious.

How would he punish the culprit?

Derek pressed his index finger to the corner of his injured mouth. Then he said, “You want me to apologize for what I don’t know? You’d better get your facts straight. I’m innocent. And I’m not going to take the blame for someone else.”

Belinda took Lean’s hand and tried to calm him down again.

“Lean, please, let’s get out of here. You need to get an x-ray, so the doctor can detect if you’ve hurt yourself again. Why are you going crazy over the grave? It was an eyesore. I’m sure a lot of people don’t want her there.” Belinda managed to drag Lean toward the door.

She was about to lead him out, but he held the door and cursed, “Derek, you won’t get away scot-free this time. Alvaro will make you pay for this.”
