Chapter 46:.

“What? Louise gave you a surprised look “Wow. Eve this is certainly good news. but this is crazy! How could your relationship progress so fast?”

Later. I told her all the details, but didn’t mention the time Derek and I had sex inside our tent.

Louise leaned against the wall and sighed. “I told you he looked at you differently and Even if he’s just trying to fulfill his grandfather’s wish, why did he pick you of all people? It just shows that you are special to him.”

Indeed, I was different. Derek told me that I was simple, unlike any other woman.

Before dinner, Louise helped me serve the dishes.

When I came out of the kitchen, I saw that there weren’t many people.

Other than Felix, the only other person there was that guy in the jacket I saw at the bar the other day.

Derek patted the seat next to me and urged me to sit there.

“All right, you two, Eveline is my wife now, and you will treat her with respect from now on!”

I hadn’t expected him to announce our marriage in such a formal way, so I felt a little embarrassed about it.

At first, Felix couldn’t believe what he was hearing, But once he got himself under control, he burst out laughing.

This is amazing!!! Eveline is a wonderful cook. Derek, you are one lucky dog.”

Soon after, Derek introduced me to the other man. However, Felix cut him off mid-sentence with a smile.

“Allow me to introduce our good friend, Eric Daly. Call him ED.”

Eric looked a little embarrassed and was about to cover Felix’s mouth. However, the latter dodged it and laughed. “You’ve had that nickname for almost thirty years, man! Deal with it.”

I soon understood why Eric was ashamed of it. His nickname ‘ED’ was short for Erectile Dysfunction in English. I did my best not to laugh at him, but Louise burst out laughing at Felix’s words. Soon, her laughter was making everyone else at the table laugh

“How many years have you been laughing at me, huh, is it that funny?” Eric said with an aggrieved face

“I could probably laugh at you all my life,” countered Felix

By the time we finished dinner, it was dark outside.

When I came out of the kitchen after washing the dishes, I found them playing cards in the living room.

It was a cold night today and Derek sneezed, so I asked him if he was cold.

“A little: could you go to my room and get a coat?”

The moment I went upstairs, I heard Felix exclaim, “I envy you, Derek – lucky you, mate! People like us are pitiful, don’t you think so too? Nobody cares about us.”

“You’ve had so many women calling you at midnight, yet you say no one cares about you…you think there are so many women around you that are probably giving you a headache, am I right?” Louise cut short.

Derek’s room was clean. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it was spotless.

After pulling a coat out of his closet, my eyes noticed a guitar hanging on the wall.

Did he know how to play the guitar? This surprised me. I imagined how handsome he must be when he played guitar.

With that in mind, I got excited, so I put the guitar down. “I saw this in your room, Derek, would you mind playing for a while?” I asked him as I handed him the coat.

His eyes darkened at the sight of the guitar. He quickly averted his gaze and said, “I don’t know how to play guitar.”

I thought he was being modest, so I smiled at him and said, “There’s no need to be shy. If you can’t play, why do you have it at home?”.

Derek’s face became tense as he suddenly stood up and threw his cards on the table.

“I’m not feeling lucky today. I don’t want to play anymore.” Right after saying that, he headed for the balcony.

That’s when our once lively atmosphere became strange and oppressive.

I had no idea why he seemed so angry. This made me feel so aggrieved that I wanted to cry.

Even after a long time, I still remembered his angry face from that night, and it had left a shadow on my heart that could not be erased.

“Oh, dear! “Put it back where you took it!” exclaimed Felix under his breath.

Was he telling me I shouldn’t have played the guitar? What could be wrong with this guitar? I was confused. I didn’t know anything about this business.

Just now. I felt like a child who had done something wrong. This guitar in my hands felt like a forbidden object, so I quickly took it upstairs and put it back where it was hanging.

Louise also came upstairs to comfort me.

“Derek is not a cruel man. He probably has a reason why he was hysterical earlier. Try not to take it to heart, okay? I’m sure he’s not mad at you. Maybe he’s just not in a good mood because of work. Talk to him when we’re gone, okay?”

I was very sad about our discussion. It was the first time Derek had ever given me a dirty look.

When Louise and I came downstairs, Felix grabbed his coat from the couch and shouted to the balcony, “Derek, we’re leaving.”

“Yes,” Derek replied. Felix gave us a look as we walked down the stairs.

“Come on, I’ll take you home,” he said to Louise.

For some reason, she wasn’t joking with him as usual. After all, the mood was not good at the moment. So, she turned around and said, “I’m going now.”

“Sure.” I replied

I walked them out and watched Felix’s car turn around and disappear into the night After. I went back into the house.

While in the living room, I took a deep breath before going to the balcony.

There, I found Derek lying on a leather lounger with a cigarette in his mouth, motionless.

“I’m sorry. I won’t touch your stuff again,” I said as I cautiously approached him.

Derek turned his head, looking at me with an unreadable expression. Suddenly, he grabbed my hand and pulled me down, causing me to squat down.

As he touched my head, he took the cigarette out of his mouth and pushed it away from me. For some reason, his voice was a little hoarse “It’s no big deal, did I scare you?”

I shook my head in response.

Once again, he was silent.

I figured everyone had a secret they didn’t want others to know, so I repressed my curiosity and didn’t ask anything else.

“Go to sleep,” he said after a long silence.

“I want to be with you.”

Suddenly, he turned his head and smiled devilishly at me, “You say you want to sleep with me?”
