Chapter 54:.

When I walked into Derek’s room with the bowl of porridge, I found that he had taken off his shirt. My eyes were instantly fixed on his muscular upper body, and I didn’t dare look at him a second time.

“I cooked some mince porridge, do you like it?” Derek rested his hand behind his head, looking at me quietly. “I like everything you cook for me.”

Felix’s comment from earlier made me a little uncomfortable. So I put down the bowl of porridge, intending to leave. However, Derek said to me, “Can you feed me?”. I paused when I heard him say that.

He then showed me his bandaged right hand, implying that it was uncomfortable for him to eat by himself at the moment.

Indeed, that would be a problem for him.

So I took a deep breath, sat on the edge of the bed and started feeding him. I made sure to blow on each spoonful to make sure it wasn’t too hot for his tongue.

I felt him staring at me through the whole process. I didn’t dare give him a glimpse, or his body. I could only give a glance at the porridge and the spoon. “It’s a little salty,” she commented sharply.

“Huh? Is it?” All the uneasiness and complicated emotions I had been feeling dissipated with his words.

“If you don’t believe me, prove it.”

Perhaps due to my absent-mindedness, I tasted the porridge with the spoon I used to feed him.

After taking two spoonfuls of porridge, I said, “I have a sensitive tongue and I don’t think it’s that salty.”

When I tried to feed him again, Derek didn’t open his mouth. Then, I realized he was smiling.

I suddenly realized something, and wondered if he disliked me eating with the same spoon.

I blushed and said, “Okay, I’m going to get another spoon.”

Right after I said that, I was about to get up, but he grabbed my hand and shoved the spoonful of porridge into his mouth.

Not only did he eat the porridge, but he also licked the remains of the spoon.

Not a second later, he grabbed my hand as he continued to lick the spoon and stare into my eyes. Somehow, his display was very arousing. The mere sight of him made me blush and my heart began to beat faster. The mere sight of him licking the spoon sent a tingle down my back. If he hadn’t been holding my hand, I probably would have dropped the spoon by now.

“Eveline,” he murmured.

“Hmm?” I was too nervous to speak.

Suddenly, she grabbed me by the back of the neck, causing the bowl in my hand to slide to the floor and shatter.

The moment I fell onto his body, he began to kiss me.

His kiss was not wild. To tell the truth, it was passionate and tender. And that tenderness was something I couldn’t resist.

Not long after, the door opened from outside. I wanted to jump away, but Derek held my head too tightly.

Derek held my head too tightly, then thrust his tongue into my mouth.

“Oh, I’m sorry, guys. Please continue.” Felix sounded like he liked what he saw. He must have heard the sound of the bowl breaking and ran upstairs immediately.

Soon, the door closed again. Derek was kissing me with great skill, and I was getting weaker and weaker despite my efforts to push him away. At first, I resisted the kiss, but soon found myself regretting choking at this point.

He continued to kiss me for a long time. The moment he released me, we closed our eyes.

We were both catching our breath after the kiss.

“Did you like it?” he asked me with a charming smile. Indeed, I did like it, but I didn’t say anything. Derek let me lean against his chest. His bare chest was so close to my face that I could hear his heartbeat. It sounded so loud. And as I listened to it, I slowly calmed down.

Derek paused and said to me, “Eveline, you have to understand that everyone has a past. You have yours and I have mine. The truth is, before I met you, I didn’t like being in this house. I felt empty and lonely living here alone. Do you remember the first time you cooked in the kitchen? I told you before that seeing a woman cooking in the kitchen made me feel like I had a home. The other day, when I cooked with you in the kitchen, I realized that this was my home. I enjoy watching you cook and with your apron on. Just watching you do it is so beautiful.”

It should be noted that Derek had a way with words; or rather, he had a way with women.

These words made me forget everything else. All I wanted was to put on an apron and cook for him.

“That day, when I was cooking with you in the kitchen, I suddenly felt that this was the life I wanted. Eveline, I want to live a happy life with you,” Derek said.

It was heartfelt. It was touching, and I appreciated this side of him.

I assumed that he must have realized that I had overheard his conversation with Felix earlier, and that was why he had said those things to me.

I didn’t want to bother with unnecessary details. After experiencing a failed marriage, I no longer dared to dream of a passionate and romantic life, but I still hoped to live a quiet life.

I got up from him with the intention of asking an irrelevant question. I had no idea why I wanted to. I must have been crazy.

“Are you full?”

Derek was puzzled by my question, and it made him smile.

Suddenly, he pulled me close to him and whispered in my ear, “I’m not full. So, how are you going to satisfy your husband?”. Right after he said that, he put his hands under my blouse.
