Chapter 80:.

Bad people will get their punishment sooner or later. Shane and Vivien received their karma during their wedding day.

It was just as Derek said, The wedding was certainly wonderful!

Once I got out of the bathroom, I felt much calmer.

Later, Derek took me to the second floor terrace.

“What are we doing here?” I asked him.

He leaned against the railing, lighting a cigarette. Soon, smoke formed in front of him.

“To be in a high place and get a better view,” he replied.

I noticed that Vivien was now talking to her friends and laughing merrily, despite how demonically she was in the bathroom earlier. But when she looked up unintentionally and saw me, the smile on her face disappeared and she shot me a look.

“Dear relatives, friends and esteemed guests, pay attention here.”

The wedding host appeared on stage with a microphone, attracting the attention of all the guests.

“We have made a very special video for the bride and groom. Let’s all enjoy watching it together.”

Vivien looked at Shane, pleasantly surprised. It seemed he was unaware of this part of the program.

However, Shane frowned as he looked at her in confusion. It was as if he didn’t know either.

He was probably thinking that one of them had made this surprise.

The video soon played on the big screen. It was a dynamic album. At first, it featured images from the wedding, as well as some photos of Shane and Vivien throughout their life together. The photos showed their love and affection for each other.

As everyone watched, an old black and white photo suddenly appeared on the screen.

Before the guests could realize what was happening, Shane’s face paled at the sight of the photo.

There was a woman in the photo, but it wasn’t Vivien.

Somehow, he recognized the woman, but he couldn’t remember where he had seen her.

Not a minute later, the photos from the old newspapers appeared on the screen, one by one. The contents of each newspaper appeared enlarged, and it was Sybil, the Thorn Birds singer, who had committed suicide by jumping off the cliff many years ago.

It was then that the guests began to argue among themselves. “What’s going on?” When the video came to an end, there was a picture of a dead body along with several blood-red words.

“Shane Hayes, blood will be paid in blood!”

Vivien stared at the screen and screamed. Shane rushed to the stage like a madman. “Turn it off! Turn that damn thing off!”

However, the wedding host and his colleagues seemed to have disappeared. The more timid guests had already run out screaming at the top of their lungs, and soon enough, chaos broke out.

“Shane, I’ll only experience one wedding in my life – is this the one you’re going to give me?” Vivien broke down completely, bursting into tears.

When she acted arrogant in the bathroom earlier, she probably didn’t expect something so horrible to happen in the blink of an eye.

Meanwhile, Shane was pinned to the stage, dumbfounded and not knowing what to do.

I had already heard that someone had committed suicide because of Shane. The video made me think Sybil might be that woman.

Vivien could no longer control her emotions, so she turned and ran off the stage. But, unfortunately, she fell off the stage by accident.

As she lay on the floor, writhing in pain, she covered her belly and screamed, “My belly hurts. My belly hurts.”

“Blood! There’s a lot of blood!” someone shouted.

It was then that Shane finally came to his senses. He hurriedly jumped off the stage, carried Vivien and ran from the scene. Blood dripped from her legs along the way. This bloody scene was all too familiar. It reminded me of the misery I endured with Shane and rekindled my hatred.

Derek was right. The heavens would never allow bad people to walk free.

Sooner or later, those people would receive divine punishment.

As I watched the scene unfold, my initial shock dissipated and I soon regained my composure. However, I could still feel my hands shaking as I held the pearls.

I was too shocked to think about how it had all happened.

In the end, the wedding venue was in disarray and there were drops of solidified blood on the floor.

I wondered what happened to Vivien. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t sure. Meanwhile, Derek just quietly smoked a cigarette through the whole ordeal.

Afterwards, he took me out of the hotel.

We found it was raining outside.

On the big screen in the mall across the street was an advertisement.

It was then that I proposed taking the pearls to the jewelry store to have the necklace repaired. At the jewelry store, Derek told me I could buy another one, but I insisted they repair it. I told him it had sentimental value to me, and that it was nostalgic.

“Nostalgic?” he repeated. Then, she leaned into my ear and whispered, “Does it make you miss your ex-husband?”

My heart nearly leapt out of my chest. That certainly wasn’t what she meant!
