Benson 239
Chapter 239 Memories Resurface
Benson did not follow Yvonne back to her home but instead left with Chandler.
As night fell, the scenery outside the car window became increasingly blurred in the dimming evening light.
Inside the car, the atmosphere was unusually heavy Benson’s face was dark, like an impending storm.
His fists were clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white, as if he were trying to control his inner anger and frustration. His breathing was rapid, and his brow was furrowed, clearly indicating that his emotions had reached an uncontrollable level.
Chandler, sitting in the passenger seat, occasionally glanced at Benson through the rearview mirror. His gaze carried a hint of concern, but he maintained a calm demeanor.
He spoke softly. “From our conversation on the plane, it seems that Miss Olivia isn’t showing true signs of amnesia. Her reactions suggest she’s completely unfamiliar with your past, unable to recall anything related to you.”
Benson’s anger almost erupted through his eyes, his voice tinged with evident fury and frustration.
“Let’s just assume she has amnesia!” Before the words were fully spoken, his hand clenched into a tight fist, his nails nearly digging into his palm.
The scenery outside the window continued to recede, contrasting sharply with the restless atmosphere inside the car.
The car sped along the highway, and Benson leaned back in the rear seat, his forehead already covered in a fine sheen of sweat.
He felt a throbbing headache, as if some invisible force was pressing down on his head.
The pain in his stomach also gradually intensified, as if all the pressure and anxiety had concentrated in his body, causing him extreme discomfort and anxiety.
After her afternoon nap, Yvonne received a call from Megan, informing her that Robert was available at 4: 30 PM.
She decided to meet him in the side hall of her home.
The side hall was elegantly decorated, with sunlight streaming through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
Yvonne sat on an antique sofa, her fingers lightly stroking the delicate armrest, appearing somewhat weary.
Robert arrived on time, dressed in a well–tailored suit, his demeanor exuding a professional coldness and seriousness.
He entered the side hall and gently sat on the sofa, his composed presence contrasting sharply with the surroundings.
Yvonne also sat down, placing a document in front of her–a draft of the divorce agreement.
“This is the draft of the divorce agreement,” Yvonne said calmly, her gaze focused on Robert.
“All the savings and 2% of the shares of the Taylor Group have been listed. As compensation for Benson, the part of Eurasia Jewelry’s shares will also be returned to you.”
Her tone carried a hint of firmness and an unquestionable resolve.

Robert carefully reviewed the agreement and, after confirming it was accurate, nodded solemnly. “I will deliver the agreement to Mr. Benson as per your request.”
After Robert left, Yvonne sank deeply into the sofa, her expression appearing somewhat fatigued and forlorn. Her eyes stared blankly at a corner of the room as if reminiscing about those past, beautiful
moments.
Olivia heard the commotion and came over, sitting beside Yvonne with concern.
She asked softly, “Why not talk about it more? Shouldn’t you discuss it further before making a decision?”
Yvonne slowly turned her gaze toward Olivia, her voice tinged with exhaustion and loss. “There’s no point in talking; it’s already… disappointing.”
Her tone was filled with deep resignation and determination, as if all choices had been weighed down by time and reality, leaving no room for change.
Olivia quietly sat beside her, feeling a pang of sadness.
She asked gently, “Do I… still need to keep pretending?”
A bitter smile appeared on Yvonne’s lips. “Keep pretending… Though it’s hard, it’s also to make everything smoother.”
Her voice carried a sense of helpless resilience and a faint hope for the future.
Olivia nodded, her heart heavy.
She understood that Yvonne’s decision was well–considered, but seeing her so sorrowful still made it difficult to suppress her own worry.
She quietly accompanied Yvonne, sensing the weight and complexity of her emotions.
Benson officially began working at the Taylor Group, and his arrival inevitably attracted widespread attention both within and outside the company.
The glass curtain wall of the company building shimmered in the sunlight, and employees occasionally glanced at the new executive.
Robert, a well–known divorce lawyer in Las Vegas, once again appeared at the Taylor Group, sparking much discussion.
Robert tried to contact Benson to arrange a meeting to discuss the divorce.
However, Benson’s response to the phone call was extremely cold. As soon as he heard it was about the divorce, he hung up directly.
His face was serious, and the cold touch of the phone seemed to deepen his inner agitation.
Over the next few days, Robert contacted Benson several times, but each time was met with coldness and rejection.
“Miss Yvonne, have you considered speaking directly to Mr. Benson?” Robert eventually suggested to Yvonne, trying to replace a breakthrough.
Yvonne’s eyes were firm, her tone carrying an unmistakable decisiveness. “There’s no need to talk. Just send the divorce agreement directly to him.”
Her resolve was unwavering, despite the fatigue in her eyes, as she continued with her plan out of necessity.
Her decision made Benson’s actions even more unpredictable.
In the following stays he frequently rame is Yvonne’s home to plek up and drop off Olivia, busy caring for * uttereffect but never mentioned the divorce
The behavior bored and annoyed Yvonne, and puzzled Hannan
Hannah specifically called Yvonne, acting with concert “Yvonne, what’s going on with Benson and Ohvis? They seem very close
Yvonne tried to reassure her mother, explaining. “There’s nothing close about it. It’s just that the Caesar Square project has reached a critical stage, and I’m really busy. Olivia has some aftereffects from the incident, so I asked him to pick her up. I don’t want you to overthink it.”
Though her voice carried a trace of fatigue, she tried to maintain her calm.
After hanging up the phone, Yvonne took a deep breath and continued with her work. Her expression was focused as her fingers quickly tapped on the keyboard, dealing with the mountain of documents.
However, the anxiety and unease in her heart were still difficult to hide.
During the time Benson spent accompanying Olivia to her medical appointments, he gradually realized that Chandler’s reputation as a “miracle doctor” was not undeserved.
In just over ten days, Olivia’s memory gradually began to return.
She started recalling bits and pieces with Benson, and when she spoke of their “romance,” her eyes were filled with warmth and sweetness.
Olivia spoke in detail about her love for Agatha Christie, especially her fondness for *Murder on the Orient Express*.
The two of them made a pact that once his eyes were better, they would travel to Florence–a dream they had once shared.
