Chapter 308: Tender Affection

“Emotional intelligence in love isn’t something everyone has,” William

remarked with a smirk as he casually threw the phrase out. Benson shot him a sharp glare, filled with annoyance and warning.

William, unaffected, continued to chuckle softly, seemingly unbothered by

Benson’s cold stare.

“Take it easy and don’t upset her. She’s pregnant, right? Didn’t you say she was just in the hospital a few days ago?” William’s tone suddenly shifted, carrying a hint of genuine concern.

Benson’s heart trembled slightly at the mention of her pregnancy. That soft,

tender feeling for her resurfaced once again.

He loved her, there was no doubt about that. But his love had been twisted by possessiveness and control, turning it into a heavy burden for her to bear. He didn’t want to let go, yet he couldn’t win her heart. The pain of loving without being loved in return gnawed at him relentlessly.

“I have no regrets,” he murmured to himself, almost as if swearing an oath. He was going to be a father, and the thought filled him with both joy and fear.

His love, perhaps, was flawed, but he couldn’t change that. He would rather

she hated him than leave him.

With William watching, Benson left the hotel first, his steps heavy and determined, though his heart was in turmoil.

William looked at Benson’s retreating figure and shook his head slightly, feeling exasperated by his stubbornness.

A few hours later, Benson arrived at the airport, waiting to board his flight. He sat quietly in the lounge, his mind swirling with mixed emotions.

He had thought Yvonne would come to him for help, but her sudden departure made him realize she had already made her choice.

At that moment, his phone rang, George’s name flashing on the screen.

He answered, and George reported, “It’s all been taken care of, and as for Joseph, it’s his first offense, so we’ll keep an eye on him.”

Benson listened, but the news brought him little comfort. He knew that no matter how things unfolded around him, the emptiness inside him couldn’t be filled.

Yvonne’s departure had made it clear–some things couldn’t be forced.

Yet, despite knowing this, he still couldn’t let go of his obsion with her. He couldn’t stop thinking about her, yearning for her.

With a sigh, he leaned back in his seat, his gaze growing distant as if even the

horizon ahead had become blurred and unclear.

Meanwhile, Bella was in the midst of her busy filming schedule in Australia, but her thoughts often drifted back to Yvonne.

After finishing a long day of shooting and wiping off her heavy makeup, Bella would habitually check her phone for any messages from Yvonne.

That day, Bella couldn’t resist her concern any longer. As soon as filming wrapped, she dialed Yvonne’s number.

On the other end, Yvonne’s voice carried a hint of weariness but also a sense of calm.

Since returning from Sint, Yvonne had thrown herself into work, keeping herself busy to avoid overthinking.

Though the trip hadn’t brought any results, Yvonne understood that life couldn’t always go as planned.

With a smile, she reassured Bella, “Focus on your filming. I can handle these small issues myself.”

Bella frowned slightly, her voice filled with concern. “You’re pregnant. I’m just worried he might use that to keep pestering you.”

Yvonne was silent for a moment, her eyes reflecting a newfound determination.

Her trip to Sint had helped her realize many things, and she knew that some decisions could only be made by her.

She said slowly, “If he really insists on bothering me… then I might just give up on this baby.”

Bella, who had just swiped her key card to enter her room, froze at Yvonne’s

words. Her heart tightened, and her voice was filled with shock. “The baby… you don’t want it anymore?”

Yvonne’s mood shifted slightly at the mention of the child. She was a strong woman, having weathered many storms, but whenever it came to this baby, it was as if a wound inside her heart was torn open, causing unbearable pain.

She knew what the child meant, but faced with Benson’s suffocating control, she also understood that giving it up might be her only way to break free.

On the other side of the room, Andrew was focused on his work. Hearing Bella’s voice, he looked up, his gaze landing on her.

Seeing him, Bella felt a wave of warmth and joy. It was as if all her exhaustion melted away at that moment.

She ran over to him, throwing herself into his arms with a radiant smile, bright like the warmth of the winter sun.

Andrew’s expression softened. He wrapped his arm around her waist while his other hand gently rested on the back of her neck, leaning down to kiss her.

But Bella playfully dodged, giving him a teasing look before sliding off his lap and standing to the side, her face still lit with a smile.

“Have you made up your mind?” she asked, her tone filled with both expectation and challenge.

Andrew didn’t answer directly. Instead, he tossed the papers in his hand aside with effortless grace, as if they were just trivial matters of the world.

He pulled her close again, his warm lips brushing against her earlobe, his breath soft and tender against her skin.

Bella shivered slightly, a small sound escaping her like a cat purring from being touched in its most sensitive spot.

On the phone, Yvonne could hear the quiet sounds and raised an eyebrow, her tone playful. “He hasn’t left yet, huh?”

Bella’s cheeks flushed slightly, but inside, she felt a sweet warmth flooding her

heart.

Andrew had come to Australia for a business trip, but Bella knew he was really

there to be with her.

Their connection and reliance on each other had deepened, becoming an inseparable part of their lives.

Alright, I’ll let you go. We’ll talk when you get back,” Yvonne said with a hint of resignation in her voice.

She knew that at this moment, anything more she said w Id be unnecessary. After all, Bella and Andrew were so close, and her worries wouldn’t change much.

After hanging up the phone, Bella’s mood grew a bit complicated, and her smile faded as she stared at the phone screen, lost in thought.

Just then, Andrew moved closer from behind, burying his face in the crook of her neck, his warm breath tickling her skin.

Bella shrank back slightly, trying to escape the sensation, but he only held her tighter.

“Focus on me, okay?” Andrew murmured softly, his voice filled with affection.

Bella turned to look at him, gazing into his deep eyes. A sense of gratitude filled her heart.

Her fingers gently traced along his face, feeling the faint stubble on his chin.

The cool touch brought her back to the present, and she reflected on the moments they had shared.

Since they had gone public with their relationship, Andrew’s care and

tenderness had brought her a sense of fulfillment she had never experienced before.

Even when work was busy, he would always make time for her. Deep down, Bella hoped their relationship could last forever.

“Do you think we’ll ever be apart?” Bella’s voice was soft but carried a hint of anxiety.

She wrapped her arms around Andrew’s neck, pressing herself closer to him.
