Benson 95
Chapter 95 The Business Battlefield
Yvonne returned to her office, where a mountain of documents and unanswered emails awaited her, piling up on her desk.
Her eyes reflected exhaustion and determination as she picked up a file and took a deep breath, gathering strength for the decisions ahead.
Sitting in her chair, she felt a slight comfort from the backrest. She picked up the phone and dialed Megan’s extension, her tone resolute and weary. “Notify Robert that he doesn’t need to handle the divorce anymore. Pay him extra for his hard work these past few days.”
Megan–sensed something was off in Yvonne’s tone. She frowned and asked worriedly, “What happened? is everything alright?”
Yvonne took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions, but her eyes still reddened slightly. She fought back a sob, her voice tinged with suppressed pain, “He tricked me into handing over the evidence against Mary. The surveillance footage without a backup for Marcus was also fake.”
Megan’s heart tightened upon hearing this, her face showing anger and unease. She asked nervously. You mean Benson set this up from the beginning?”
Yvonne nodded, her expression shifting from anger to determination. Her voice was low but firm, “If he doesn’t want a divorce, I won’t leave this marriage defeated. If he makes my life difficult, we’ll both suffer.”
Megan heard the resolve and defiance in Yvonne’s tone, feeling a surge of admiration. Yvonne had never been one to surrender easily, and this resilience made Megan genuinely respect her. Megan nodded solemnly, asking, “What do you need me to do?”
Yvonne calmly organized her thoughts, her eyes flashing with cold determination. She stood up, walked to the window, and looked out at the cityscape, as if contemplating something.
After a moment, she turned back, her tone firm, “Inform the marketing department to terminate the contract with Mary. The company should simultaneously release an official statement about the termination and announce Bella as the new spokesperson.”
Megan was taken aback, her brows furrowing. She understood the risk, “If we do that, Mary’s fans might cause an uproar.”
Yvonne looked at Megan coldly, her eyes filled with unwavering determination, “Is Mary a high–risk artist? Megan understood Yvonne’s point and made up her mind. She nodded, her eyes showing firmness,” Understood, I’ll handle it.”
Watching Megan leave, Yvonne felt even more resolute. She knew this wasn’t just for herself but also for the company’s future. She couldn’t allow herself to languish in this marriage any longer; she needed to regain control of her destiny.
After leaving Yvonne’s office, Megan immediately contacted the marketing department. Her tone was urgent and decisive, “Per Yvonne’s instructions, terminate the contract with Mary and release an official statement. Bella is the new spokesperson.”
At noon, Yvonne had a meeting scheduled with a high–end brand. As she left her office, her eyes shone with determination and resolve.
She aimed to bring the brand back to Caesar Shopping Center, her first major task since taking over the company.
Chapter 95 The Busness Battlefield
When her father was alive, Caesar Shopping Center was a landmark in Las Vegas, but in the past two years, it had been losing over 200 million annually, with a lack of clear positioning, causing many brands to leave. Other branches of the business were mediocre, without any standout lines.
Her first task upon taking over was to revamp the brand layout and revitalize Caesar Shopping Center.
Yvonne walked into the meeting room, greeted by Raymond, the head of LS. Raymond, seeing Yvonne, felt a bit nervous and intimidated. Yvonne had requested a meeting with him eight times in the past two months, each time being rejected, but she persisted.
Raymond smiled politely, trying to appear professional, “Miss Yvonne, I apologize, but L.S. prefers Wanxiang. Currently, Caesar Shopping Center can’t compare to Wanxlang.”
Yvonne smiled, her eyes radiating confidence, “That’s just today, not tomorrow. Caesar Shopping Center has experience in luxury retail and the backing of the Taylor Group in Las Vegas. We aim to make it a new flagship project.
I’m confident that within six months, Caesar Shopping Center will be completely revitalized. Whatever position Wanxiang offers, we can offer you a double–level boutique.”
Raymond frowned, contemplating, his gaze lingering on Yvonne’s face, “A standalone boutique for Caesar right now might be heading towards demise.
Caesar Shopping Center has been poorly managed for the past two years, losing money annually. It used to be a top luxury destination in Las Vegas but has lost its shine. Besides, Miss Yvonne, you have no market experience in this field.”
Yvonne’s smile remained warm and steadfast, “Mr. Raymond, you’re right and wrong. I graduated from an art university and entered the trade circle, starting from procurement. With some luck, I reached Caesar in six years. I believe in myself. We don’t need to rush the cooperation; we can take our time to understand each other.”
Raymond nodded, shifting the conversation away from business to lighter topics. Yvonne listened patiently, occasionally chiming in, making the conversation pleasant.
Leaving L.S., Megan followed Yvonne, a hint of frustration and disappointment on her face, “These luxury brands are really hard to deal with.”
Yvonne smiled, patting Megan’s shoulder, “These luxury brands are indeed proud. We have a few backup options. Once a leading brand joins, the others will follow. The beginning is always the hardest.”
On the way back to the company, Yvonne’s phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and saw it was her second brother, Arthur. She smiled slightly, answering the call with a sense of anticipation.
“Hey, brother,” Yvonne greeted warmly, her voice filled with affection.
Arthur’s voice came through the phone with a touch of humor and concern, “I’ve got what you needed.” Hearing this, Yvonne’s face lit up with a relieved smile, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She replied softly, “Thank you, brother. I’ll transfer the money to you right away.”
Arthur chuckled, his tone indulgent and comforting “We’re family. No need for formalities.”
Yvonne’s expression turned firm, her voice resolute, “I insist. This is my private matter. If I get used to taking things for granted, what will I do?”
Arthur, on the other end, heard her determination and sighed, his tone tinged with helplessness and compromise, “Alright, I won’t take the money. But I will get it back from Benson”
Mentioning Benson made Yvonne’s expression complex. She fell silent for a moment, feeling a surge of bitterness and disappointment Finally, she took a deep breath, her voice low, “Alright.”
Chapter 5 The Business Hattefeld
Married for three years, Benson never liked her. She was sensible and independent, never lacking money, and apart from living at No. 6 Wutong Road waiting for him, she never spent his money.
At this moment, she found her pride and reserve laughable. She didn’t spend money, only letting other women spend it.
