Bride of the vampire
Chapter ten

DAMIEN

Damien had a sinking feeling that something was amiss. He immediately called out to his demon, Dagon, seeking answers.

"Dagon," he called out urgently, "where is Crystal?"

"I don't know," Dagon replied nonchalantly, munching on raw meat. "We left her in the room."

Without wasting a second, Damien rush

ed to the room where Crystal was supposed to be, only to replace it empty. Panic started to set in. His mansion was not a safe place for a human to wander around freely.

He sprinted down the hallway and spotted her heading towards the dark room. His entire demeanour changed in an instant.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Damien thundered, his voice filled with anger and concern.

Crystal turned back, fear evident in her eyes. She struggled to replace the right words to explain herself.

"I... I... I..." she stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence.

"Staying in my house doesn't give you the right to roam around as you please," Damien snapped, his tone harsh. "You are a guest here, so you should behave accordingly." Crystal flinched, her fear intensifying.

"Now, be a good girl and return to your room," he commanded, his voice softer but still firm.

She immediately obeyed, running back

to her room. Damien knew he had to act quickly to ensure her safety. He couldn't understand how she was able to see the dark room, as it held secrets that must remain hidden.

He cast another spell to make the room invisible once again, determined to keep it a secret from her. This was knowledge that no one else should possess.

In the meantime, Damien called his trusted assistant,

Max, and asked him to order some food for Crystal. He knew she probably wouldn't want to see him after their encounter.

With a heavy heart, Damien retreated to his own

room to continue his work, hoping that everything would be alright and that Crystal would understand the reasons behind his actions.

*********

Max ordered a delicious combination of fried rice and chicken, immediately Damien called him, eagerly anticipating its arrival. After patiently waiting for 30 minutes, his order finally arrived. He carried the fragrant meal up to the room where crystal was staying.

"Hello". He greeted her, placing the food on the small table beside her.

She looked up at him and greeted him with a warm smile. However, her eyes quickly caught sight of the bruise on his face, and concern filled her expression.

"What happened to your face?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine worry.

"It's nothing," He replied, trying to brush off the topic and leave.

But she insisted, "Please, sit with me for a while."

He hesitated, knowing that Damien might not approve

"I'm afraid I can't!". He responded.

"If you leave now, I'll have no choice but to

tell Damien that you treated me poorly and spoke rudely to me. I'm sure you wouldn't want that," she said, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips.

Her threat caught him off guard. Was she really capable of such manipulation?

"You're certainly not as innocent as you appear." He remarked, unable to hide a smile as He took a seat beside her.

"What's your name?". she replied, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Max". He responded.

"You know, Max, I always have that same expression on your face right now. Anyway, I did something bad," she said, pointing to his face.

"My mom's food is incredibly delicious, and I can never get enough of it. I always sneak a little bit. But one day, she caught me. She made me eat the whole meal and warned me that if I couldn't finish it, I would be in big trouble," she explained.

He chuckled at the sight of her struggling to speak with a mouthful of food, trying to convey just how much there was.

"I love my mom more than anything in this world. I would do anything for her," she declared.

"I never got to experience a father's love," she said sadly.

"I never got to experience a mother's love either," he replied.

"I was told she died while giving birth to me. I grew up with my extremely strict father. He always pushed me to train so hard. One day, I was bullied at school. Do you want to know what my father did?" he asked. She nodded eagerly.

"Well, he contacted the kids who bullied me and instructed them to physically harm me," he stated.

"Are you serious?!" she exclaimed.

He nodded.

"So he made me undergo a 10-day training regimen and withheld food from me for three days," he explained.

"Your father is quite a character," she remark

ed.

"After the ten days, he was confident that I would be able to defend myself. He told me, 'Son, go to that school and break those bullies' bones. If they don't expel you, don't bother coming home."" "Oh my God," Crystal screamed, laughing so hard that she nearly choked on her food.

"So I'm assuming you were expelled the next day?" she asked.

He smiled.

"I didn't just get expelled. I was banned from attending any school because the kids ended up in a coma for a year."

"Now we're talking. That's your father's son," she responded, laughing.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe this. Looks can be deceiving. You appear to be a perfect gentleman," she added.

"I'll take that as a compliment," he said, smiling.

"So what's troubling you? Why do you look so sad?" she inquired

I did something I wasn't supposed to and I don't think Damien will forgive me," she asked.

"Did you kill someone?" he responded.

"No."he growled.

"What the heck did you do?". she asked.

"I slept with someone." he replied.

She suddenly burst out laughing.

"Since when did sleeping with someone become a crime?." she asked.

"Did you fuck her till death?."

"What? No!" he replied.

"Then what's wrong with making out with someone?"

"It's a boy," he burst out.

"It's a boy?" she screamed.

"Shhhh keep your voice down."

"A boy? I see. So what's wrong with that?" she adjusted herself again, trying to compose.

"He's an enemy of Montenegro."

She mouths an "oh."

"Did you tell him anything you weren't supposed to?" she asked.

"No, we only make out."

"To be honest, I see nothing wrong with what you did. You didn't choose to be gay. As long as you stayed loyal to Damien or Monte, whatever you call it, I see no reason why Damien will be mad at you for making out with someone you like," she said.

He stared at her in shock. He was expecting her to say something bad about him being gay, but she totally surprised him.

"Thank you," he bowed shyly.

"Don't worry, I got you buddy. As long as I am here, Mr. mood swings would not touch you," she said.

He laughed. She was trying to act like a big sister.

"By the way, is the guy cute?" she giggled excitedly.

"He's not, and I don't like him," he responded, looking away.

"Hey hey, look who's shy now?" she teased him.

We both laughed and talked until she brought up the matter.

"There is a dark room in the hallway. What's inside?" she asked with confused and curious eyes.

"Did you go there?" he screamed.

"No, I didn't. Damien stops me. Is there something bad inside?"

He breathed a sigh of relief. At least Damien was there on time, or else she would have been dead by now.

"Whatever you do, don't ever, like never ever go near that room," he warned.

"Why?"

"I will leave now," he hurriedly left the room before she said anything else.
