CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1588
Ben was exhausted. Jamie knew that and didn't want to trouble him with every issue. Yet Ben still showed up.
"You came... I thought... you wouldn't," Jamie said, her voice wavering slightly.
Earlier, surrounded by an angry mob and nearly having her wrist crushed, she hadn't uttered a sound of pain. But now, a hint of vulnerability crept in.
Perhaps it was just human nature to be strong through everything, only to falter when met with genuine concern.
Ben pulled her into his arms, her faintly reddened eyes breaking his composure. His shoulders trembled slightly as he murmured, "I'm sorry. I came too late."
Jamie didn't resist, quietly leaning into him for a moment.
The troublemakers were soon taken into custody, and things settled down. Jamie was about to get into Ben's car when she noticed, out of the corner of her eye, a woman behaving suspiciously with a camera. "That woman's a paparazzo!" she exclaimed.
Ben's sharp gaze followed hers, and the cold intensity of his eyes froze the woman in her tracks. She turned to flee, but she didn't get far before being caught and brought back.
Ben examined the camera, his expression growing darker with each photo he scrolled through.
Jamie didn't understand his reaction at first until she took a look herself.
The memory card contained dozens of photos of them, including ones from their recent trip to the mall to buy school supplies for Charlie.
Her hands trembled with anger as she pieced it together. She glared at the paparazzo and suddenly recognized her.
"You're the one we bumped into last time!" Jamie accused.
"I'm not-" the paparazzo began, but her denial was frantic and unconvincing.
Jamie's suspicions crystallized. It was her. The so-called "accident" had been no accident at all. She must have been trailing them for candid shots the entire time.
"And those online rumors these past few days, were you the one who leaked those photos?" Jamie demanded.
The woman hesitated but refused to admit anything.
Jamie's tone turned icy. "Think carefully.Дt's better to talk to us than to explain yourself to the authorities. If you don't cooperate, we'll have no choice but to hand you over to the police."

Faced with the threat, the paparazzo panicked. After a moment of hesitation, she stammered, "Yes... yes, I was the one who posted them."
Jamie felt a small sense of relief at finally uncovering the truth. She immediately demanded the woman retract the photos and issue a clarification.
But the paparazzo hesitated again, her face troubled. "That's not entirely up to me. I already sold the photos to someone else. They were the ones who told me to spread the rumors." Jamie's heart sank at this revelation. She hadn't anticipated this twist.
The implications of someone orchestrating the rumors behind the scenes made her eager to ask more questions.
Ben, however, intervened calmly. "This isn't the place to discuss it. Let's continue in the car."
Jamie glanced around at the chaotic surroundings and nodded.
They brought the paparazzo with them into the car. On the way, she revealed everything she knew.
When they pressed her about who had hired her, she faltered. "I don't know who they are. They contacted me anonymously. I've never met them, and all I have is a bank account number." Ebookex
This lead, though incomplete, was enough for Ben to jot down the account details, planning to have it investigated later.
As for the paparazzo, she agreed to collaborate on a public statement clearing up the rumors.
By evening, a detailed clarification was posted online. The smear campaign lost momentum, and public opinion began to shift.
Jamie also wrote a heartfelt
explanation on her personal social media account, which was reposted under Lucas Corporation's official account. She clarified her relationship, as well as their

Within hours, the trending topics had shifted, and the negativity died down significantly.
"It's finally resolved," Jamie said with a relieved sigh, noticing that the insults and rumors had vanished. For the first time in days, she felt at ease.
