CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 484
Michelle's voice faded as she was dragged away.
Kate turned to Nina and Angel. "Thanks to both of you, we've managed to restore Starry Sky TV station's reputation."
Angel, being praised for the first time, blushed a little. "Chief Editor, we just reported the truth. As long as it didn't affect the station, that's what matters."
Kate looked at them, erasing their worries. "Remember, our job is to pursue the truth and reveal it. You did the right thing."
From Kate, they received validation.
Kate turned to Nina. "I can see you put a lot of effort into this."
For Nina, it was also personal. "I did what a reporter should do."
"Your writing and professional skills are impressive," Kate said, appreciating Nina's work. "Keep it up, and you'll have a bright future."
"Thank you, Chief Editor," Nina responded politely.
After Kate left, the whole department burst into celebration. The troublesome Michelle was finally gone, and they were grateful to Nina and Angel for standing up against her.
Meanwhile, Nash quickly learned about the exposure of Miranda's fake hearing loss. Knowing it was reported by Starry Sky TV station, he suspected Nina was involved. Despite his warnings, she had gone ahead with it.
He immediately grabbed his coat and headed out.
That night, they were all working late. They did not finish until 7 PM. Angel, finally free from just typing behind a desk, was thrilled to be able to go out and cover news. She was so happy that she decided to treat her colleagues to dinner and karaoke.
Nina, however, declined. She was exhausted and wanted to go home and rest, especially considering her pregnancy.
Angel did not insist. She said goodbye and left with the others.
Nina was left alone at the TV station entrance. The atmosphere was quiet. She put her hands in her coat pockets and walked to the roadside, intending to hail a cab.
Just as she raised her hand, a familiar car pulled up in front of her. The next second, Nash stepped out of the car.
Seeing him, Nina was surprised. She thought he would be too busy with work and taking care of Zoe to have time for her. Nash's expression was grim. His deep eyes locked onto Nina as he questioned, "Did you expose Miranda's hearing loss?" Nina paused, realizing why he had come to her. It was about Miranda. Did he think she was bullying his beloved Miranda? With a steady gaze, Nina replied, "Yes, I did."
Nash's brows furrowed tightly. "You just don't listen!"
"Are you feeling sorry for her? Does it hurt you to see her suffer?" Nina's tone was self-mocking.
"Can't you see?" Nash retorted, "I'm worried about you!"
"What is there to worry about?"
Nash's eyes turned cold. "What is there to worry about?" His voice grew agitated. "I'm worried you'll get hurt! Besides worrying about you being retaliated against, what else could I be worried about?"
His tone was harsh, even angry, but it made Nina pause. She stared into his eyes, trying to discern if he was being genuine.
Was it possible to trust him? From the urgency in his eyes, she could tell he was really worried about her. But what did that mean?
Nina quickly calmed her emotions. "I'm fine. Even if someone retaliated against me, I wouldn't just sit back and take it. You should be more concerned about Miranda. Her reputation is in shambles, fans are leaving her, and she might get blacklisted. Her actions could also affect your company."
