CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 485
Nina chuckled lightly, her tone mocking. "Your entertainment company's executives must be running around in circles with worry, yet here you are, taking the time to replace me." Nash's deep gaze remained fixed on Nina, taking in her sarcasm and mockery. He replied, "It's just an entertainment company. Do you really think I care?"
Hearing this, Nina looked up again and saw the genuine concern in Nash's eyes. It seemed to say that compared to her, his entertainment company meant nothing.
Wasn't the company founded for Miranda? Could this mean she was more important to him than Miranda?
Nina quickly brushed aside such thoughts. The bond between Miranda and Nash seemed far more convincing.
"How am I supposed to know? There's no need to say more," she said, choosing to avoid the topic. Seeing a taxi stop in front of her, she added, "I'm going home. Please step aside."
She tried to pass by him to get into the taxi, but Nash grabbed her hand. She was moving quickly, and the sudden pull made her twist her waist.
"Ouch!" Nina instinctively frowned, placing a hand on her stomach as she felt a sharp tug.
Seeing her reaction, Nash loosened his grip, his eyes immediately shifting to her abdomen. "Does your stomach hurt?"
Nina took a moment to recover from the pain. As a pregnant woman, she needed to be extra cautious. There should be no pulling or tugging.
At that moment, a large hand gently rested on her stomach. Nina looked down to see Nash's hand, warm and soothing, rubbing her belly. This did not feel real. She looked up and saw his face, his attention focused intently on her stomach. It was not a dream. Nash, though a bit unsure, continued to gently rub her stomach, trying to calm any discomfort. "Does it still hurt?"
Nina stared at him for a moment, speechless.
Nash's body was tense. "Did the baby move?"
Nina replied, "How could that be? I'm not even sixteen weeks yet."
"Really?" Nash was unfamiliar with these details but felt a connection.
The taxi driver, impatient from waiting, honked repeatedly.
Nash called out to him, "She's not coming. I'm taking her."
The driver was annoyed and drove off.
Nina realized she had said too much. How did the conversation shift to discussing their unborn child? She could not forget they were getting divorced.
Their marriage was in tatters, symbolized by the torn marriage certificate. There was no going back to how things were.
"No, I'll take a cab," Nina said firmly. "I understand your concerns, and I'll be careful. You should go home. It's late. We're not heading in the same direction." She deliberately tried to distance herself.
Nash remained silent.
Taking his silence as agreement, Nina walked away, planning to catch a taxi further down the road.
Just as she thought she had put some distance between them, she suddenly felt herself being lifted off the ground.
There were not many people around, but it was not completely deserted.
"Nash, what are you doing? Put me down!"
Nina felt embarrassed with so many people watching them in public.
