Chapter 918

Sally's gaze was sharp and her expression was dark and foreboding. She was clearly prepared for a showdown with Zoe.

Zoe, however, was not one to back down. "Outsider? Am I considered an outsider now?"

Nina had not expected that even transferring the assets to Zoe would provoke such a strong reaction from Sally. "Aunt Zoe, I didn't bring you here to argue with others. That wasn't my intention, and I don't want you to be upset. I have the authority to transfer the assets to you."

With that, Nina gave Quincy a look. Although Quincy had not anticipated Nina's decision, he followed her instructions in front of everyone and handed the original documents to Zoe.

Zoe pressed her lips together, ready to speak, but Nina quickly continued, "I have my own plans and no interest in managing the company. Aunt Zoe, Nash cared deeply about this company and wanted to preserve the York family legacy. You are the best person for the job. Quincy, regarding your request for leave, please discuss it with Aunt Zoe."

Nina felt exhausted. She had already decided what she needed to do. She could not stay in a city filled with memories of Nash, especially not in this company. She feared that holding on to the company would trap her in those memories.

After giving her instructions, Nina turned and left. With Scarlett by her side, Quincy felt reassured. Now that all the documents were in Zoe's hands, Quincy needed to help her complete the necessary processes. Since Zoe was part of the York family, the other shareholders did not dare to protest too much.

But Sally was livid. She stood furiously in front of Zoe. "Zoe, why are you siding with Nina? Do you think I don't see your ulterior motives?

"You just want to consolidate all the Ye family's power for yourself. You and Nina are conspiring together. Tell me, what benefits has Nina promised you to make you help her like this?"

Facing Sally's furious outburst, Zoe remained indifferent. She waved her hand, signaling Quincy to escort the other executives and shareholders out of the room. Soon, only Zoe and Sally remained.

Sally's anger grew with Zoe's calm demeanor. "Zoe, don't act so high and mighty. You're no better than anyone else! What kind of facade are you trying to uphold?"

"And what about you?" Zoe replied with a hint of sarcasm. "Sally, you're like a mad dog biting everyone around. I really can't understand how the York family ended up with someone like you."

Zoe's eyes were filled with contempt and disdain. She was well aware of Sally's misdeeds but had often chosen not to mention them because she did not live in the York residence.

Regarding Nash and Nina, Zoe had tried to bring them together many times. But when they finally realized their feelings for each other, it was too late.

Despite that, Sally had always been unreasonable. She had made things difficult for Nina when Nash was alive, and now even after his death, she continued to do so.

"You...!" Sally sputtered, furious.

Seeing Sally's frantic state, Zoe's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Just because I haven't mentioned certain things doesn't mean I'm unaware of them. Sally, do I need to remind you why you favor Miranda so much? You think you've hidden it well, but everyone in the York family knows the truth."
