CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 919
As Zoe spoke, she moved toward Sally. Though Zoe was not very tall, she had an imposing presence that made Sally feel small.
Sally's face turned pale. The relationship between her and Miranda was known throughout the York family. From beginning to end, she had been a laughable clown. No wonder Mr. York Sr. never spoke much to her, didn't accept her arrangements, and chose Nina as Nash's wife instead.
No wonder William never came home.
No wonder Zoe always looked at her with disdain, and Nina held her in such contempt.
"Hahaha!" Sally burst into maniacal laughter, losing all semblance of dignity.
Zoe, uninterested in prolonging the encounter, turned and left the conference room.
But where was Nina?
Nina was currently leaving York Corporation, planning to visit her parents. Scarlett followed her closely, worried that Nina might be overwhelmed by her emotions. Sitting in the car, Nina received a call from Zoe.
"Aunt Zoe," Nina answered.
Zoe tried to comfort her, "I know you're heartbroken. But things have come to this point, and life must go on. I won't sign off on the asset transfer you made to me. The assets will remain under your name. Once you've taken some time for yourself, you need to come back and take over York Corporation. Otherwise, if Nash comes to me in a dream, how will I explain it to him?"
Nina felt a deep pang in her heart. Dreams... Nash was dead, and everyone around her was gradually accepting this reality. She, too, was coming to terms with it. But with the passage of time and the fleeting nature of memory, would she eventually forget Nash? No. She could not let that happen. She could not forget Nash!
Her throat felt like it was coated in bitterness. "Aunt Zoe, you should manage the company. I have something important I need to do. He was a peacekeeper, right? I... I want to be a war journalist."
What had once been a vague idea now became a strong, resolute decision.
Nash had been a peacekeeper in life, so she would become a war journalist, reporting on the struggles of civilians in war zones, fighting alongside Nash in her own way.
Zoe was stunned by her decision. She thought about Nina's previous career, her current state, Nash's profession, and Nina's determined nature. Nina and Nash were similar. Once they made up their minds, nothing could deter them.
Zoe pressed her lips together and sighed. "Nina, I can't say much if you've made up your mind. But you don't have to leave today. How about having a meal with me before you go?"
"Alright, but I need to see my parents first," Nina agreed.
"Okay, I'll make the arrangements and send you the location."
"Got it."
After agreeing on the plan, Nina hung up. She and Scarlett arrived at her parents' house, but Scarlett chose to wait outside.
When Zion and Julia saw Nina, their eyes were filled with concern. "Look at you, you're so tanned.
"And you both are so thin."
They knew all about Nina and Nash.
Nina held their hands and spoke in a hoarse voice, "Dad, Mom, thank you for all the years you've raised me."
