Hearing this, Zion and Julia exchanged worried glances.

Why was Nina speaking like this after just one trip? Could it be?

Their throats felt tight as if something was lodged there, and their eyes were clouded with worry. They sensed a problem but did not know how to address it.

Eventually, Nina spoke first, "Mom, Dad, I know I'm not your biological daughter, but you've treated me better than any real parents could."

With that, Nina fell to her knees, overwhelmed with emotion. Zion and Julia immediately tried to help her up. Tears streamed down her face as she looked up at them, her eyes red and swollen.

"You have given me more than I could ever repay," Nina said, her voice breaking. "But rest assured, I only acknowledge myself as your daughter. I will always remember your kindness, and you will always be my parents. Here are all my savings."

In the past, Nina would regularly send money to their account, which they saved without spending, always giving back to her whenever they saw her, even withdrawing cash to give to her out of concern.

But now, Nina wanted to give them everything in one go, fearing she might not have another chance. The uncertainty of war loomed over her, and she did not know what the future held.

"Nina! Your father and I have money. Why are you giving us all your savings? Are you planning something? Don't do anything foolish!" Julia panicked, gripping Nina's shoulders. Tears were streaming down her face and her eyes were red. Nina's demeanor felt like she was saying goodbye.

Nash's death had hit her hard, but they believed that life must go on. The living must continue living.

Zion could not hold back his tears. "Nina, if you have something to tell us, please do. Did you replace your biological parents during your trip? Are they giving you a hard time?

"Or have you made some decision? Talk to us, please."

Zion's mind raced with concerns, fearing that Nina had been mistreated or was contemplating something drastic.

Nina shook her head. "I just encountered some things over there and learned about my blood type. I haven't found my biological parents, but I have some clues. Mom, Dad, I'm not planning anything rash. I want to do something meaningful. I plan to go to war zones. I won't have much time to stay in touch, so I want to give you this money now."

Julia's breath hitched. "You foolish child, are you planning to become a war journalist?"

Nina had been a journalist before, and Julia had an instinctive feeling from Nina's words.

Nina did not deny it.

Zion and Julia had always supported Nina's career choices, but they were adamantly against her becoming a war journalist this time.

Zion held Julia's hand tightly. "Nina, when we brought you home, you were so small and frail, always getting sick. We took care of you for a long time. You might not be our biological child, but we've always treated you as our own. Those war zones are incredibly dangerous. If something happened to you, what would we do?"

"Nina, please don't go," Julia pleaded, her voice trembling. "I know you're heartbroken, but time will heal. Stay in Birkham, and we'll get through this together."
