Yerick said every word sincerely, as if he was trying very hard to prove his innocence.

Rosalie felt slightly awkward. "Yerry, I've never doubted you. Please don't take it to heart."

"I know you don't doubt me, but your husband doesn't seem to like me very much. Did I do something wrong?"

Uneasiness filled Yerick's eyes, making him look like a deer caught in the headlights, on the verge of tears.

Sebastian sneered. "Do you expect me to like you?"

Yerick made it sound as though he was in the wrong for not liking him as much as Rosalie did. Where did he get that audacity from?

"I didn't mean that," Yerick explained anxiously. "Please don't be mad at me. I'm just here to visit Rose, nothing else. If I'm making you upset, I'll leave right away."

Yerick covered his mouth, feeling indignant. He stood up to leave, an anxious look on his face.

Rosalie grabbed Yerick's arm, and said anxiously, "Yerry, don't be mad. You're not making us upset."

"Really?" Yerick looked pitifully at Rosalie before casting a look of unease in Sebastian's way.

He looked cautious and frightened, as if he had been wronged for a huge crime he didn't do but did not dare to speak up for himself.

Sebastian was burning with rage. "What's with that look? Why are you pretending to be wronged?"

This man was an excellent actor, looking so pitiful and innocent on the outside, it was disgusting!

"I... I'm not." Yerick was frightened as his voice broke with emotion. "I really don't know if I did something wrong. Perhaps it's better that I leave. Goodbye, Rose. I'll come see you another time."

"Don't go," Rosalie said as she turned to explain to Sebastian. "How could you do this? Yerry is here to see me, and he's my friend. Why are you being so fierce to him?"

Sebastian sneered. "I'm being fierce to him? Rose, he's clearly putting on an act, trying to gain your pity and making me look like the bad guy here. Am I the bad guy? Don't you know me well enough? Would I bully another person for no good reason? I'm just worried that you'll be deceived."

Women are often the best judges of other women, as they know them best. The same goes for men, who are the best judges of other men and know them best.

On the other hand, men and women often end up fooled by each other. This probably explained why opposites attract while the same repel.

"Seb, you're too much! Since Yerry and I got to know each other, he's never taken advantage of me in any way. You don't know him at all, so how could you jump to conclusions like this? He's not the kind of person you think he is."

Rosalie's brows were tightly knitted, indicative of the anger she was feeling.

Sebastian's blood was boiling.

He wanted to remind Rosalie that she hadn't known Yerick for a long time, certainly not as long as the time she had known him for!

But as the words hung on the tip of his tongue, he suddenly remembered something and said instead, "Is that so? Then perhaps I've misunderstood things."

Sebastian put on a humble expression, and said, "I'm sorry, I was wrong. I was worried that you'd be deceived, which was why I was so cautious. If he really is your good friend, I'll apologize to him. I don't remember what happened in the past, so I'm more careful about things."

He couldn't afford to fight with Rosalie at this point. The harder they fought, the more likely things might spiral out of control.

That would be exactly what Yerick wanted!

Sebastian couldn't let Yerick have his way!

He barely managed to convince Rosalie not to divorce him. He couldn't allow for any problems to arise at this point. No one could destroy their relationship, and certainly not this pretentious pretty boy Yerick Zeller.
