"Hahaha..." Sydney chuckled. "The cheek of you to even bring it up! You impregnated Xyla Jackson when I was pregnant. When I gave birth to my child, he died before I even had a chance to see him. You killed him because you were afraid the Jacksons would be upset!" "I didn't kill him! He's my child too. How could I possibly kill him?!" Geoffrey yelled.

The thought of Sydney seeing him as the murderer who killed their baby felt like a knife piercing through his heart. But if Sydney refused to believe him, it was pointless no matter how much he explained. What's more, he couldn't tell her the truth about what happened back then.

"Haha..."

Sydney laughed like a madwoman.

"If you didn't kill our baby, how did he die? He was perfectly fine during the check-up, but he died the moment he was born.

"Geoffrey Carter! Not only did you abandon me to marry into a rich family for the sake of your career prospects, but you even killed your own child so that your plans wouldn't be jeopardized! You're inhumane!"

Sydney wiped the tears on her face hard. "I don't want to be in the same car as you. Let me out. Let me out right now!"

"Our baby didn't die," Geoffrey said, finally revealing the secret he had been hiding for so many years.

"What did you say?" Sydney was stunned as she stared at Geoffrey in disbelief. She grabbed Geoffrey's arm. "Say that again! Geoffrey Carter, say that again!"

"I'll tell you the whole truth, but not here. If you want to know the truth, stay quiet. If we got into an accident, you'll never replace out the truth."

Sydney wiped the tears from her face. "You're lying to me. The baby's dead."

"He's not."

"Then where is he?"

Instead of answering her, Geoffrey stepped on the accelerator and the car sped forward.

He drove Sydney to his private villa and held her hand all the way to his room, where he flung her hard on the bed.

Sydney sat up on the bed and charged at him, grabbing his collar.

"Can you tell me now? If the baby isn't dead, where is he?"

Geoffrey grabbed her hand. "I can tell you that, but you must be my woman."

"Haha..."

Sydney burst out laughing, shoving Geoffrey away hard.

"How could you say something so shameless when things have come to this point? I got together with you when I was 17, and gave you everything I had. Yet, how did you treat me? You treated me as your mistress, and got a rich heiress pregnant. You dumped me for the sake of your prospects, and now, you have the cheek to ask me to be your woman?"

She had just turned 18 years old when she was pregnant.

She didn't even try to cling onto Geoffrey when he dumped her, and decided to raise the baby herself. She told herself she would never look that bastard up.

She didn't expect her baby to die the moment he was born.

She remembered seeing Geoffrey standing right before her, coldly and expressionlessly breaking the cruel news to her.

Over the years, she was certain Geoffrey had killed their baby for the sake of his future and for fear of jeopardizing his career prospects.

She didn't even get the chance to see her dear baby.

"I've divorced Xyla," Geoffrey said as he grabbed her shoulders. "Syd, let's have a fresh start. I'll tell you where our son is, and I'll have him acknowledge you as his mother."

"Enough, Geoffrey Carter. You're shameless through and through! I will never be your woman! I'll never forgive a man who abandoned me that way!"

"I didn't abandon you!" Geoffrey yelled. "I never thought of abandoning you. I admit that I married Xyla for the sake of my prospects, but I never thought of leaving you. I wanted to keep you by my side. Had you stayed obediently by my side and waited for the right time, we would have been able to be together in public. But you refused to bear with it and kept fighting with me about it. I had no choice!"

"How terrible it must have been for you!" Sydney said sarcastically. "You hooked up with another woman and wanted to marry her and make me your mistress. You want to have your cake and eat it too, but I'm not that cheap!" "Don't you want to know where our child is?" Geoffrey said.

He was sly and cunning, but he never expected Sydney to be so stubborn and for so many years.

"Geoffrey Carter, I'll never believe your words. A lying bastard like you talk the talk, but not walk the walk. Sebastian really takes after you. Both of you treat women in the same way. An old bastard raised a young bastard indeed!" "This bastard that you're talking about is your son!" Geoffrey finally yelled out loud, unable to hold himself back any longer. "The bastard you keep cursing is the son whom you love so dearly!"
