Geoffrey looked at Sebastian in shock.

"Are you crazy? You want to die with her?!"

"That's right. If she dies, I'll die with her."

Rosalie had become all of his life.

"You..." Geoffrey pointed a finger furiously at Sebastian. "There are so many women in this world, why must you..."

Geoffrey felt a cold gaze piercing through him. He turned around, and met Sydney's bloodshot eyes.

Sydney gave Geoffrey a tight slap. Her eyes were filled with hatred and anger.

Sebastian was shocked to see his father getting slapped. "It's enough that you slap me, but how dare you slap my father too, you crazy woman! Don't think that we're afraid of you just because you have the Spencers backing you up!" "You father and son sing the same tune! No matter how nicely you put it, women are just objects that you can change out anytime to you. It doesn't even matter to you, even if they die."

Sydney wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.

"But I'm telling you," she went on, "if Rose dies, I'll make sure the entire Carter family suffers!"

She turned to leave.

This father-and-son pair made her feel so suffocated, she was worried that she might lose control of herself if she were to stay any longer.

Sebastian glanced at his father. It was his first time seeing his father get slapped. He couldn't believe that this woman dared to hit his father.

Yet, his father didn't seem all that angry. He saw a tinge of disappointment in his father's eyes, perhaps even a smudge of guilt.

"Dad, are you alright?"

Geoffrey seemed to be in a daze.

"Dad, do you know Sydney Harper?"

Sebastian somehow sensed that there was something inexplicable between Sydney and his father.

"Seb, don't blame her. She doesn't know what's happening."

Sebastian frowned. "Why are you speaking up for her? She slapped you."

Instead of replying to him, Geoffrey left and headed in Sydney's direction.

"Dad," Sebastian called out to him, but Rosalie was still in the operating theater, and he had no choice but to stay here.

Soon, Geoffrey caught up with Sydney. She had reached the car park at the entrance of the hospital and was about to open the car door to leave when Geoffrey grabbed her arm. "Syd, wait."

"Let me go!" Sydney flung his hand away hard. "Don't touch me!"

The fierce look of disdain Sydney threw at Geoffrey gave him a sudden urge to say, "I have something to tell you."

"I don't want to hear it. Scram!"

Sydney turned to leave.

Geoffrey hugged her, and dragged her into his own car.

"Let me go!"

The car door slammed, and he locked it.

Sydney said furiously, "Geoffrey Carter, what do you want?"

"I just want you to calm down. I have something to tell you."

"I don't want to hear what you have to say. Let me out, or I'll call the police!"

Geoffrey ignored her and stepped on the accelerator, driving off. Sydney immediately pulled her phone out of her bag to call the police.

"Do you still remember our child?" Geoffrey suddenly asked.

Sydney was about to dial the number when Geoffrey's question stunned her and made her finger freeze in midair.

At the mention of their child, tears fell from her eyes.

She yelled furiously at him, "What right do you have to mention my child?"

"That was my child too," Geoffrey said, his grip tightening over the steering wheel. "That was our child."
